We have a job vacancy for a Dementia Specialist to join Shine as the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator. 

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just over 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows. 

We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.

The role

Cruse Bereavement Support is a charity providing bereavement information and support to grieving people across the UK. We are looking for an organised and motivated Marketing and Communications Officer to join our small marcomms team and help increase the reach and engagement of our digital marketing and communications channels.

You will be responsible for helping us reach more bereaved people, volunteers and supporters with our content and digital products. Responsibilities and Accountabilities

This position will focus on sourcing and developing potential national and international funders who provide single and multi-year grants in excess of £10,000 including those who do not accept unsolicited grants.

Duties include:

• Develop and manage opportunity pipelines of prospective funders, planning introductions.
• Write compelling, concise, well-presented, tailored approaches and grant applications in Word and Canva.
• Liaise with the Operations team, to gather the relevant information for grant applications (e.g. data, case studies, imagery etc).
• Ensure systems are kept up to date with all details of grant application documents, progress and outcomes and any other interactions with funders.
• Work with partners in Tanzania to offer them support and guidance 
• Draft programme reports for projects for which you have raised funds.

Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.

As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand.  This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.

40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive.

Many children fall behind with reading simply because they lack the opportunity to practise: we work to ensure that every child has 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most. Chapter One’s unique, online, reading support programme pairs struggling 5 to 8 year olds in over 11 areas of the UK with over 3000 volunteers who are recruited from a range of local and national businesses.

We are seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner experience. This is an opportunity for an early career professional to learn about charity-business partnerships in a dynamic, small charity which is flexible and agile. 

Reporting to our Corporate Partnerships Manager, but also working closely with our Business Development Manager, you’ll support them both to deliver our annual volunteer targets and maintain our strong partner retention rate (currently 88%). This will involve supporting both the identification, acquisition, and onboarding of new partners, but also the account management of a portfolio of existing partners.

Leading the Data Insights and Operations team, this role is key to advancing our fundraising strategy by utilising data analytics to inform decision-making and enhance donor engagement. You will manage all aspects of data governance, reporting, and operational efficiency and driving innovations that support the charity’s goals. Through ensuring high standards of data compliance, you will lead the development and implementation of a more advanced digital landscape, building a robust data function driven by insights.

Your experience and technical expertise will be essential in evaluating and recommending emerging technologies to strengthen our capabilities.

This is a full-time, permanent role that can be based anywhere within the UK.

Key duties include:

• Lead and develop the Data Insights and Operations team, fostering a culture of innovation and improvement.
• Provide strategic direction for data initiatives and operational functions across the organisation.
• Prioritise, delegate, and manage daily operations of the function.
• Resolve day to day issues with colleagues and 3rd parties.
• Ensure teams have sufficient support to provide the agreed level of service.
• Provide a stimulating, supportive and safe working environment.
• Drive Mary’s Meals UK’s data driven decision making through advanced analytics, ensuring insights support fundraising, donor engagement and organisational goals.
• Oversee data governance, ensuring accurate data management, reporting and compliance with legal standards.
• Lead the design and delivery of an enhanced digital landscape, leveraging technology to improve data capabilities and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging technologies to strengthen the charity’s digital and data infrastructure.
• Lead on UK GDPR and DPA2018 compliance and reporting, including data management and retention, acting as Data Protection Officer for Mary’s Meals UK.
• Lead on key operational functions, including IT, data protection, travel, charity governance, risk management, facilities and insurance.
• Ensure efficient and effective operational processes.
• Monitor the external environment to identify new opportunities and challenges; developing reports and plans to ensure an appropriate and timely response.
• Manage effective systems for monitoring, evaluation and reporting of service delivery outcomes.
• Lead, facilitate or contribute to improvement and development of projects across the organisation as required.
