World Horse Welfare are seeking an experienced IT professional to join the charity. The aim of this role is to encompass the organisation’s Helpdesk (1st through 3rd line support) and IT Technician responsibilities to include day to day support, issue resolution, repairs, maintenance and improvements as well as project support. This role is based at our head office in Snetterton, Norfolk and will support all our sites across the UK as well as end users abroad. Occasional travel to our four UK sites will be required.
We are looking for someone with experience in Windows Operating Systems (Pro/Enterprise & Server), Android OS, M365 administration (including Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Exchange Online), Windows Server (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Print) and Networking (including routers, switches, cabling, APs).

The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. It is a body of its Fellows, Diplomates, Affiliates and trainees, supported by the staff who are based at the College's London offices.
The College is a charity with over 13000 members worldwide. The majority of members are doctors and scientists working in hospitals and universities in the UK.
The College oversees the training of pathologists and scientists working in 17 different specialties, which include cellular pathology, haematology, clinical biochemistry and medical microbiology.
Although some pathologists work in laboratories, many work directly with patients in hospitals and the community. Together, they are involved in the majority of all diagnoses and play an important role in disease prevention, treatment, and monitoring. If you have ever had a blood test, cervical smear or tissue biopsy, a pathologist will have been involved in your care.
Main Purpose
The Royal College of Pathologists is seeking a ServiceDesk Manager to lead the IT ServiceDesk and operational management of the IT function. The post holder will have a proven track record of leading a team of ServiceDesk Analyst to provide support for the College's IT and AV technology transformation. The role will be responsible for overseeing the day to day support of the IT and AV services across the RCPath. Reporting to the Head of IT, the ServiceDesk Manager is a highly visible and leading role within the IT Team and will work closely with all departments and the Senior Management Team. The following are some of the key requirements for the role:
- To lead the support of college-wide data and business applications. This includes Microsoft 365, Open Engage (and the new Dynamics 365 replacement) and associated interfaces to the College websites, LEPT (Learning Environment for Pathology Trainees) and other business application services.
- To ensure that the IT supporting services (IT & Audio Visual) are operational on a 24x7, 365-day basis.
- To manage the continual service improvement for the support of all business systems and associated processes.
- To support College users and events in the use of business applications and Audio Visual equipment, including identifying and supporting training for users (as required).
- To support the management and delivery of projects according to the College’s ongoing development plans.
- To manage an accurate log of all college IT and AV (Audio Visual) Inventory (hardware and software) in a central database (SolarWinds) and ensure that all stock items are kept in a clean, efficient, organised and tidy location.
- To design, deliver and maintain controls and service processes aligned to industry standards, based on the ITIL Service Management processes.
- To analyse, interpret highly complex information as part of major Incident reviews based upon a variety of volatile information sources and produce concise, accurate root cause analysis reports to ensure the team continue to learn from such incidents and avoid re-occurrence.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of a strategy for the on-going support and development of the business-critical IT infrastructure and security.
- To support and update the IT Risk register, identifying risks and issues in own area of work.

Scope of role
The role supports the delivery of our IT, facilities, health and safety across operations. They act as the first point of contact with outsourced providers and co-ordinate any work related to these areas.
The role is in place to support the project management and delivery of a set of work programs and there is a level of autonomy to make decisions on a project / work area basis within an agreed framework to deliver.
The role will hold the IT budget, and support COO with facilities budget; thus it is expected that there is a good understanding of the budgets to understand constraints and opportunities. The role can make spending decisions up to £2,000.
This role is designed to allocate approximately 60% of the focus on core IT functions and 40% on facilities and operational oversight including procurement.
They will be expecting to advise COO and wider SMT on IT and Operations related plans for the year.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Information Technology & Systems
- Be responsible with the support of the COO and wider SMT with all IT related strategy including procurement and streamline of new IT service provider/s. Including setting up KPIs’ and using these to assess performance.
- Manage the setup of new staff – including the procurement of equipment required for the role – this includes all communication tools.
- Managing the relationship and being the key point of contact with the technology suppliers and technology support providers.
- Identifying cost savings/efficiencies in the tech stack.
- Supporting IT KIT refresh plans and purchase, this includes audit of needs and vendor negotiations and lifecycle planning with the COO.
- Leading on regular assessment of IT and systems needs for all services and administrative staff.
Facilities, Health and Safety & General Administration - Act as the main point of contact with our property management company. Work with the COO to escalate issues.
- Book in contractors and maintain all required documentation in conjunction with other key stake holders (property manager/agent).
- Be the escalation point for maintenance issues, liaising with the property management company to make sure that issues are dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
- Work with H&S consultants and property managers to ensure all relevant training is planned for and carried out and Risk assessments are being completed and used.
- Work with HR to ensure that all relevant training is planned for and carried out.
- Maintain records for all mandatory tests in conjunction with our property agents.
- Liaise with the Events and Venue Manager to ensure building management is always in place, keyholding, security etc.
- Ensure smooth operations of front of house – including reception and security rotas and arranging additional cover as needed for events.
Projects
- Manage ad hoc projects on behalf of the operations team; such as refurbishments, implementation of printer management.
General
- Building good working relationships across the organisation
- Representing Toynbee Hall to external audiences
- Developing an open and ‘critical friend’ dialogue within our programmatic work
- Undertaking any other appropriate responsibilities that may arise such as top up of franking machines, and general administrative orders as needed.
- Hold regular catch ups with team members, and ensure they are meeting their yearly appraisals.

The Role
As an IT Service Desk Analyst, you will provide 1st and some 2nd line support to internal customers, working within the ITIL framework to ensure efficient resolution and escalation of incidents.

The IS Support Manager oversees daily operations ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations but also for elevating the quality and efficiency of technical support services provided.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity tools and controls (e.g.,
endpoint protection, firewalls, secure email gateways, MFA, etc.).
• Monitor security alerts and reports from tools like Microsoft Defender, Bitdefender,
WatchGuard, and Cloudflare, escalating potential incidents to the Cybersecurity
Manager.
• Support user access management and ensure policies for identity and access control
are followed using systems like SSO and Intune.
• Help manage and track security awareness initiatives (e.g., phishing simulations via
SoSafe).
• Assist in vulnerability scanning and basic risk assessments across networks and
systems.
• Contribute to incident response efforts under the guidance of the Cybersecurity
Manager.
• Document findings, maintain logs, and support audit and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with IT and wider organisation to ensure security controls do not hinder
mission delivery.
• Participate in routine system checks and contribute to the improvement of
cybersecurity procedures and documentation.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
Experience & Certifications/Qualifications:
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Up to 2 years of experience in an IT or cybersecurity role (internships or volunteer roles considered).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and technologies, including antivirus, firewalls,
intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 security stack, including Defender and Intune.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
• Hands-on experience with any of the following: Ubiquiti, SharePoint, Egress, or Cloudflare.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900, or equivalent.
