Job description

People with Parkinson’s need people to better understand the condition and take action. From their neighbours and friends, to decision makers and healthcare professionals.

You’ll help make that happen through high impact, creative and engaging media work that grabs headlines and shines a light on the reality of Parkinson’s and our campaigning work to improve the lives of people living with the condition.

You’ll contribute to the smooth running of a busy press office, jumping on newsworthy opportunities that will help us keep Parkinson’s in the public conversation, and make sure that we have an army of ready, willing and able speakers - from colleagues to those affected by the condition.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and deliver sustained and effective proactive media campaigns to support specific aspects of Parkinson’s UK’s work, especially its policy and campaigns work, as we move towards a cure and better support

  • Remain responsive to the news agenda, creating opportunities to raise campaign and condition awareness in key titles

  • Ensure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s are central to our media work, building a network of willing and engaged storytellers

  • Keep spokespeople media ready with regular internal media training, building confidence and testing their skills

  • Track and evaluate your work, demonstrating impact and sharing learnings with the wider team

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience of planning and delivering high profile and impactful media campaigns - policy and campaigns experience is desirable

  • Ability to identify and develop newsworthy stories

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Good understanding of working with storytellers, the required sensitivity and associated GDPR requirements

  • Experience of operating in a modern digital workplace, including using digital tools

This is an exciting time for Parkinson’s UK and we would love you to join us!

Please apply by sending us your CV, together with a detailed supporting statement which will fully demonstrate how you meet all the criteria of the role, as stated in the "What you'll bring" section of the job description.

Interviews for this role will be held online via googlemeet from the 28 January 2026.

A second round interview will take place in person at our London office in February 2026.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It’s vital that the people who work for Parkinson’s UK are representative of our diverse community. We actively encourage people from all sections of the community to apply, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or religion.
