The Head of Development will be a key member of the Social Sciences Development team within Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE), who will work closely with SoGE and DAE leadership to establish a small Geography team, and to develop a fundraising strategy that serves the School’s goals and grows its philanthropic support.

SoGE is one of the foremost geography and environment university departments in the world, internationally recognised for the quality of its research and teaching. We are the only UK-wide charity for everyone affected by a genetic and acquired bleeding disorder. 

At the Haemophilia Society (THS) we want to empower everyone affected by a bleeding disorder to live life to the full, whatever your stage in life.

One in 2,000 men, women and children in the UK have a diagnosed bleeding disorder, which are a group of conditions, including haemophilia and von Willebrand disorder, that result when the blood cannot clot properly. 

As many as a third of bleeding disorder diagnoses have no known family history and can be the result of a random gene mutation. This means a bleeding disorder diagnosis can come completely out of the blue.

THS brings together people with bleeding disorders and their families to share experiences and understand more about how to live well with a bleeding disorder. Together, we can all make a difference.

About the role

We’re incredibly lucky to have a generous and dedicated community who are always looking for new ways to support our work. Worldwide Veterinary Service is searching for an experienced manager to support the growth of our global education programme.

 This is an ideal role for an experienced project manager who wants to make lasting improvements to the lives of children and animals around the world.

Reporting to the Head of Education at global animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), you will help grow and develop education programmes that protect children from key zoonotic disease and improve the relationship between animals and people.

One child dies from rabies every 10 minutes. Most victims are under the age of 15. Rabies is 100% fatal, but entirely vaccine preventable. Children just need the right information to protect themselves. WVS established Mission Rabies, a campaign that aims to eliminate rabies for good, in 2013. We have worked hard to reach 9.6 million children worldwide, but around half of the world’s 2 billion children at this age still live in rabies endemic countries. You will manage national education managers based across Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to spread our core messages to a wider audience. This is essential if we are to deliver our goal to halve the number of people dying from rabies in the next 5 years.

We are looking for somebody who is proactive, driven and has a history of making things happen. The ideal candidate will have a results-oriented mindset, be comfortable working with ambiguity and adaptable to change. At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands.  We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

•  Support with the development of our education and behaviour change campaigns in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Aurora New Dawn is a registered charity providing support and advocacy to survivors of domestic abuse, stalking and sexual violence.

The Children & Young Person’s Advocate will support children at risk of domestic abuse, including sexual violence and stalking within a domestic abuse context within the Thames Valley area. Children will be identified via their non-abusing parent who is already accessing support as a victim of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking from Aurora New Dawn. Our focus is on delivering practical guidance and support which matters most to charities and voluntary organisations across the UK. We do this through practical support, training, consultancy and by developing partnerships with funders and businesses which are committed to supporting the sector.

​Each year, we deliver hundreds of training courses on the topics that matter most to charities, reaching thousands of learners across England. Our work supports organisations of all sizes and has a wide-reaching impact across the charity sector. The insights we gain also inform and shape NCVO’s policy priorities.

Founded in 2015 by Michael and Yvette Mansfield, SOS Silence of Suicide exists to break the silence around mental health and suicide. Initially a peer-support group, SOS is now a growing charity offering multi-channel support services via a national helpline, mobile hubs, and in-person outreach. The role

We are expanding our small team by recruiting an Advice Support Officer. The post holder will providing support to Project 17’s frontline advice and advocacy service for people with no recourse to public funds.
