About The Role

JFF are looking for a Finance and Reporting Analyst to join their growing team. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Operations, you will be responsible for undertaking key monthly transactions duties as well as leading and building robust data models and the reporting of both financial and non-financial information utilising Power BI or similar.  You will work together with colleagues across the organisation to support reporting on financial, non-financial and programmatic data and KPIs.

This role will partner with the CEO, COO, Portfolio Leads and other JFF team members. You will act as a trusted adviser and bring your experience and knowledge in financial analysis and reporting to provide accurate, compliant and transparent financial and management information to the Foundation, including the Executive team, Board and auditors.

Introduction

Afield is a brand new charity responding to environmental injustice. We do this by working with communities to rewild disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods; and by supporting artists to undertake ecological research. This exciting and demanding role will be right at the heart of making everything happen!

Objectives

You will work alongside Afield’s two co-founders to define and run the urban wilding and arts grants programmes, including managing the cohort of grantees. We are looking for dynamism, energy and experience of grant management to help us launch the first round of grants and a support programme.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the two co-founders you will set up the arts research and wilding programmes. This will include launching and running opencall and selection processes, and the cohort support programmes. Once established you will lead subsequent programmes, and plan for future cohorts. You will be:

• Feeding into the design of the arts & wilding programmes

• Taking responsibility for, and running, the arts grants grants and wilding programme (including involvement in the selection of grantees, continual learning and evaluation)

• Liaising with partners on programme delivery (eg. local councils for wilding)

• Managing selectors and mentors, supporting peer learning, and organising workshops for both programmes

• Taking responsibility for managing the cohorts

• Working with a second team member (to be recruited) to promote the programme

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Good analytical and project management skills, and strong competency in setting up and using technology such as an application management platform

• Experience of line management or managing contractors. This is not essential, as there will not initially be full line management responsibility, but would be a benefit.

Compensation and benefits

• 4 days per week role, for which the salary is £34,500 (FTE: £43,000)

About this job

The role purpose is to be responsible for and lead our system security efforts. The MS Society has heavily invested in technology in the past few years. The more technology we use, the broader the exposure to malicious attacks and actors intent on hacking our systems and stealing data. Data and System security now figure in the Society’s risk registers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to protect our organisation's IT infrastructure, data, and systems from threats. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, advanced threat detection, incident response, and regulatory compliance.

Please note this is a fixed term contract for 6 months.

Speech and Language Therapist

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist (term time + 3 weeks only) to join a multi-disciplinary team which provides educational support to children and young people, their families and local schools.

Position: Speech and Language Therapist

Location: West London (office-based)

Salary: £53,076 per annum (£50,626.34 actual/pro-rated) + market supplement

Hours: Full Time (36 hours per week)

About the Role

The Speech and Language Therapist at the Education Hub will provide specialist assessment, intervention and support for children and young people affected by the Grenfell Tragedy. The therapist will conduct comprehensive assessments using evidence-based tools, including formal standardised assessments, observational analysis and dynamic assessment approaches to evaluate speech, language and communication needs.

You will:

• Work on a 1:1 and group basis with children and young people and provide a high level of expertise to develop students’ speech, language and communication skills.
• Give advice, information and support to enable parents/carers and schools to promote the development of speech, language and communication skills.
• Work with families to equip them with the knowledge and skills to create supportive home environments that meet their child’s specific needs.
• Work in close liaison with the Occupational Therapist and the rest of the team to ensure efficient and effective management of children identified with speech, language and communication needs.
• Comprehensively assess children and young people to help identify difficulties in expressive and receptive language, social communication, fluency, and speech sound development, ensuring targeted and effective intervention.
• Produce detailed reports with clear actionable recommendations to inform support plans and guide effective therapeutic and educational strategies, ensuring interventions are tailored to each child’s specific speech, language, and communication needs.
• Develop Speech & Language Therapy training packages, policies, and programmes to parents, carers and professionals.

About You

You will have:

• UK qualified status and registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) with a license to practice.
• Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
• Trained in Hanen, Elklan, Let’s Talk or VERVE Child Interaction (or a willingness to attend training)
• Extensive knowledge of principles in effective working with families and schools and application to practice.
• Experience of operational caseload management for children with a speech and language need.
• Extensive knowledge of appropriate assessment and therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Culturally competent, with an understanding of diverse family contexts and the ability to tailor interventions accordingly.
• Skilled in trauma-informed practices with a focus on supporting children and families affected by adverse experiences.
• Participated in continued professional development and keep informed of relevant research and best practice, and to maintain HCPC registration.
• Knowledge and understanding relating to the safeguarding of children.

About the Organisation

The Grenfell 'Education Hub' opened last year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub provides a safe, restorative and relational education support to children and young people, their families and local schools.

A consultation process in 2023 and 2024 about the needs of the community and the bereaved and survivors led to proposals for an educational ‘hub’.  This comprises a wide range of professionals including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Specialist, and a Family Support Practitioner. Their time will be divided between direct work with children and families in the ‘Hub’, and support for local schools.

The activity of the hub aims to;

• Provide good quality educational support to as many children and young people as possible
• Build the skills and confidence of children and young people, their families, and education staff in local schools
• Develop strong relationships with those most affected by the Grenfell Tower fire
• Accurately assess its impact

Duties:
Act as the first point of contact for journalists calling and emailing the press office, following up and assigning press requests and enquiries to the team as appropriate.
Compile and distribute a news summary to staff and key international stakeholders, featuring organisational coverage and related news stories each morning.
Undertake the monitoring of the organisation within the media, including recording TV news, assisting in the daily monitoring of print, online, digital, social and broadcast coverage.
Log, monitor and evaluate all media coverage that the press team secures.
Produce general and specific reports of media coverage, as needed.
Share weekly priorities with relevant internal teams on a weekly basis.
Demonstrate and model a commitment to our shared values, behaviours and inclusive practices (known as Our Shared Commitment) in all aspects of your work.

Relevant experience
Experience of providing effective administrative support to a busy team.
Experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
Experience of media monitoring databases such as Onclusive is desirable.

Specific knowledge and skills
Basic knowledge of media relations and an interest in international development issues.
Skilled at managing tricky enquiries and dealing tactfully and efficiently with enquiries from external contacts, including at a senior level.

The role will require one day per week in their London office, which will be a Wednesday.
