Head of Communications and Engagement
The Diocese of Winchester is seeking an exceptional communications leader to help shape how we tell the story of God's work across our Diocese. This is a strategic senior leadership role, responsible for leading our Communications & Engagement Team and developing a clear, engaging and effective communications strategy that supports our mission, vision and priorities.
Serving a population of over 1.2 million people across more than 230 parishes, the Diocese of Winchester is a diverse and vibrant community. About the Communications and Engagement Team
The Communications & Engagement Team supports the Diocese in sharing its vision, celebrating local stories, engaging stakeholders and managing communications across a wide range of activities. The team works collaboratively with colleagues across mission and ministry, safeguarding, schools, vocations, creation care and governance, ensuring that communications effectively support diocesan priorities and objectives.
What you’ll do
- Lead the development and delivery of the Diocese's communications and engagement strategy
- Shape and communicate key diocesan messages alongside senior leaders
- Build strong relationships with clergy, parish officers, Winchester Cathedral and external stakeholders
- Oversee media relations, press releases and crisis communications activity
- Lead communications campaigns around major church seasons, diocesan initiatives and strategic priorities
- Ensure the Diocese embraces best practice in digital communications, social media and emerging technologies, including AI

Role purpose

Job Description: Facilities Manager

The Role:
This is an exciting time to join the organisation, as we are planning the refurbishment of our flagship 10-bedroom supported accommodation service alongside ongoing development of our wider accommodation portfolio.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant and effective operation of all facilities at York Road Project, which includes a 10-bedroom main site shelter and three additional properties comprising a further 14 beds. The role ensures all buildings are maintained to a high standard, remain fit for purpose, and meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities Management
- The Facilities Manager monitors the delivery of maintenance activity across all sites, ensuring issues are escalated where standards, timescales or compliance requirements are not met.
- The role ensures all accommodation and premises are maintained to a high standard, remain fit for purpose, and operate safely and efficiently.
- The Facilities Manager reviews and improves facilities processes to enhance operational efficiency and ensure consistent delivery across all sites.
Health and Safety & Compliance
- Oversee Health and Safety compliance across all properties and service.
- This includes the development, review and maintenance of risk assessments for all properties and relevant work activities, ensuring they are suitable and sufficient, regularly reviewed, updated following changes or incidents, and effectively implemented.
- The role also ensures statutory inspections, fire risk assessments, fire safety compliance, emergency preparedness, HSE requirements, and DSE compliance for home working staff are in place and maintained.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance systems and documentation are maintained to an audit-ready standard.
- The role supports internal and external audits, including annual health and safety and fire risk assessment audits, ensuring evidence and corrective actions are completed.

- As part of the role you will attend the charity’s Health and Safety Sub-Committee, providing updates on H&S, risks, compliance, audits, and improvement actions.

The role
Foxglove is seeking a Digital Campaigner to deliver our digital campaigning, our digital communications, our social media and our website. This role would sit within our advocacy and communications team, which works towards stronger accountability for Big Tech, and an end to states’ misuse of algorithms and AI.
We want people in power to put an end to tech abuses that negatively impact our lives. But we’re up against an army of Big Tech lobbyists, working to shield their industry – and its vast profits – from any form of restraint. That’s why we need to ensure that the public, and our representatives in government and politics, are armed with the facts and knowledge they need to stand up to Big Tech billionaires.
We’re looking for someone with significant experience in digital campaigning. The Digital Campaigner will not only identify these areas but act to implement the strategy they help devise – taking a hands-on and energetic approach.
As part of a small and flexible team, you will also be expected to contribute to our wider areas of work as needed, across communications, advocacy and supporter campaigns.
Job Description
Digital campaigns
- Develop and lead digital campaign strategies that support Foxglove’s litigation and advocacy work, translating our cases and work into compelling public-facing campaigns.
- Design and deliver end-to-end digital campaign activations – including email campaigns, petitions, actions, donation drives and supporter journeys – using Foxglove’s CRM and campaign tools.
- Identify campaign moments and news hooks and move quickly to mobilise supporters and generate public pressure at critical points in Foxglove’s cases.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance, using data and analytics to learn and improve tactics over time.
- Work closely with Foxglove’s legal and advocacy teams to ensure digital campaigns are timely, accurate, and strategically aligned.

Supporter engagement

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker on a full-time basis (35 hours, 5 days per week), to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our London & South East Team to families in the local area, at a time where they need it most.
Reporting to the Family Support Manager of the London & South East Care Team and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child or young person has a life threatening or terminal illness. You will enjoy responsibility for managing your own schedule, remaining flexible to the needs of the families on your caseload.
Having worked in a demanding and emotional environment you have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and helping people; and having provided bereavement support to families, you understand processes of grief, loss and change - and how best to help others deal with its impact.

Groundwork South is seeking a motivated and experienced part-time Delivery Manager to oversee the delivery of our Climate Action Fund project over the next five years.

About the Project
Communities Prepared works with volunteers and communities across England to help them build the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. This includes supporting communities to plan for climate-related risks such as flooding, storms, heatwaves, and severe weather.
Despite the successes we have had through our programme to date, we are not currently reaching diverse enough audiences and too often there are people missing from the resilience sector. This needs to change. To address this we are now embarking on an exciting new UK-wide partnership programme funded through the National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund over the next five years.
The programme responds to growing evidence that climate-related emergencies, including extreme heat, flooding, fire, cold and severe weather, disproportionately impact marginalised communities, while those same communities are often excluded from resilience planning and decision-making.
The programme brings together Equally Ours, Communities Prepared (part of Groundwork South), and the VCS Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP, part of the British Red Cross) to strengthen climate resilience by ensuring that communities experiencing discrimination and disadvantage are at the heart of climate preparedness, response, recovery and policy-making.
Through a rights-based and co-produced approach, the programme seeks to shift climate resilience policy and practice away from models that frame communities as “vulnerable”, and towards approaches grounded in agency, participation, equality and shared responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
As Delivery Manager, you will oversee the development and delivery of specific resilience focussed training and workshops with marginalised communities, with the understanding that our current offer will need to be adapted in line with feedback from these groups. Key tasks include:
- Overseeing initial stakeholder mapping exercises and the development of a structured engagement plan to recruit and work with marginalised communities.
- Building a collaborative and trusting relationship with the partner organisations and other stakeholders for this project, ensuring this work meets their expectations and complements areas of the work programme led by others, and that learning is shared to support wider programme development and delivery.
- Designing a process to receive constructive feedback from project participants and build this into co-creation / adaption of resilience focused training and workshop resources.
- Developing and overseeing a programme of training, workshops and a train-the-trainer offer with project participants, ensuring an equal environment is created that allows for adaptation based on learning.
- Working with the core Communities Prepared team to adapt our offer with the long-term goal of the Programme reaching more diverse audiences, especially those seldom heard in this sector
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience in community engagement or community development.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, confident to engage people from a range of different backgrounds.
- Experience working and collaborating with multiple stakeholders or partners.
- Confidence working as part of a team, as well as independently in a remote role.
- An interest in climate change, community resilience and wider community development.
- A willingness to travel across the country.
