Responsibilities of our Cat Scientist - Emerging Welfare Technology 

• Support the development, validation, and practical application of feline welfare data collection tools. 

• Coordinate on-site technical logistics and data collection at UK adoption centres, including hardware deployment and software troubleshooting, while designing resilient, internet-enabled monitoring systems. 

• Use specialised programming skills to develop and maintain interactive software applications, creating user-friendly mechanisms for stakeholders to interrogate research outputs and inform management decisions. 

• Act as technical project lead for the transition of a Markerless Pose Estimation (MPE) system from external academic development into internal pipelines for automated cat behaviour and activity monitoring. 

• Lead and support on evidence synthesis projects and associated publications, in order to create robust knowledge bases for shelter, unowned and owned cat welfare and risk factors. 

About the Research team: 

• The Feline Welfare Research Team are a small but growing team of six scientists, who sit within the wider Cat Welfare department. The team supports the organisation in improving our understanding of feline welfare both on a population and individual basis across a range of disciplines including epidemiology, demography and welfare assessment. 

• The team are responsible for providing the charity with scientific expertise. 

What we’re looking for in our Cat Scientist - Emerging Welfare Technology: 

• Extensive experience undertaking non-invasive animal behaviour and welfare studies, including first-author publications. 

• Significant experience in research project design and leadership, including planning, oversight, and completion of projects on time and within budget. 

• Experience leading and advising on data-led research and innovation projects to inform animal management or conservation strategies 

• Strong programming and statistical data analysis skills including experience of transitioning academic research or coding systems into practical, operational tools to support positive animal health and welfare outcomes

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Occupational Therapist (Sensory & Attachment) will deliver high-quality, trauma-informed occupational therapy assessment and intervention to families with a history of adoption, kinship care and long-term fostering. The postholder will bring advanced expertise in sensory processing/sensory integration and the impact of early adversity, attachment disruption and developmental trauma on regulation, participation and family life. The role will work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) within PATH, contributing to formulation-led support, practical strategies and therapeutic approaches that strengthen safety, connection, and everyday functioning at home, school and in the community.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Provide specialist assessment and intervention where sensory processing differences interact with attachment needs, developmental trauma, neurodiversity and emotional/behavioural presentations.

·Co-produce practical, strengths-based support plans with parents/carers and, where appropriate, the child/young person; provide clear strategies that are realistic for family life.

·Deliver evidence-informed interventions (1:1 and group-based as appropriate) including sensory-based regulation strategies, activity adaptation, routine design, environmental modification and caregiver coaching.

·Integrate attachment- and trauma-informed principles (e.g., PACE/connection-based approaches) into OT recommendations, ensuring strategies support safety, relational connection and felt security.

·Contribute to MDT formulation and case discussions, offering an occupational therapy perspective on function, participation, sensory-motor development and regulation

·Prepare high-quality written outputs including assessment summaries, recommendations, letters and reports suitable for families and professionals; contribute to documentation required for commissioning/regulated service evidence as needed.

·Support families to understand the sensory, neurodevelopmental and trauma/attachment factors that may underpin behaviour and distress, and to implement strategies safely.

·Maintain accurate, timely records in line with organisational policies, data protection and confidentiality requirements.

·Contribute to the development of resources (e.g., guides, webinars, workshops) that translate specialist OT knowledge into accessible tools for families and professionals.

Homeless Link is the national membership charity for frontline homelessness services. We work to improve services through research, guidance and learning, and campaign for policy change that will ensure everyone has a place to call home and the support they need to keep it. Our social enterprise supports the homelessness sector through specialised software, engaging training, expert consultancy, and impactful events that also helps to fund our wider work to end homelessness for good.

The Communications and Engagement team work across Homeless Link supporting teams to market their products and increase the impact of their work. Whether it is getting information to the member organisations about how to run a good day service, to Ministers on how homelessness services should be funded or to frontline workers advertising our training and conferences, we support Homeless Link’s staff to be as effective as possible.

You will deliver activities to support the MHCLG’s National Workforce Programme, by supporting housing and homelessness teams in both the public and voluntary sector to develop knowledge and skills Learning Pathways. Some Pathways will be specific to a role and others will be focussed on developing organisational knowledge, but all will support the development of professional skills and knowledge for those working with people experiencing housing and homelessness problems in England, to improve outcomes. You will also design, coordinate, and deliver a range of conferences and good practice events to promote learning and innovation across the sector.

About you 

You have proven experience in developing and managing tailored learning pathways and training programmes, including for housing and homelessness law and wider skills development, along with strong experience of working with people with multiple disadvantage and/or those who support them. You are able to develop and maintain partnerships across agencies to ensure the best client support and contribute to multiple agency projects, collaborating and sharing knowledge. Ideally, you are experienced in the homelessness sector or a related field, as well as having excellent skills in communication, IT and digital systems.

Wolfram Syndrome UK (WSUK)

WSUK is a small national charity based in West Sussex that supports children, young people and adults affected by Wolfram Syndrome (WS) and their parents/wider families. WSUK Adult Support Co-ordinator Role

WSUK is seeking a part-time adult support co-ordinator (2.5 days per week, working over 4-5 days, 0.5 FTE, £14.1k-£15.6k per annum), based in the Midlands area. This home-based role will provide support to WS affected adults and their families to help improve the quality of their lives. Through liaising with professionals (including the WS expert clinical team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Birmingham), external or advocacy organisations, this role will help facilitate access to the services to which WS affected adults and their families are entitled. The adult support co-ordinator will help adults and their families to increase their confidence and independence in living with their condition. This role will also act as an important point of contact for WS affected adults, providing advice and support in confidence.

Skills and experience

Applicants should have several years’ experience in a similar position, working with people affected by sensory loss, long-term medical / genetic condition, or disability. Applicants should also have a strong desire to help improve the lives of adults living with a long-term condition or disability and be confident in talking with people with a range of abilities and diverse cultural backgrounds.

Applicants should have experience in working effectively as part of a remote team, be confident in working independently and in managing conflicting priorities.

Some limited UK travel will be required (particularly to meet WS affected adults during their WS clinic visit at QEH, Birmingham (6 clinics per year) and the annual WS conference. An enhanced DBS check will be required.

• Attend the annual in-person PEN national and regional clinical Leads meeting.

• Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.

• Work closely with the PEN National Clinical Leadership Team (CLT) to discuss and review national and regional priorities. Attend a virtual meeting with CLT 2 times per year.

• You’ll be a UK-based clinical healthcare professional, working in Parkinson’s or with extensive interest and expertise in the condition, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Healthcare professionals living with Parkinson’s are also encouraged to apply.

Legacy Stewardship Manager

The Legacy Stewardship Manager will plan and deliver RNID’s legacy stewardship programme to bring about growth in future legacy income.  It will be responsible for planning and creating high quality legacy communications and experiences which make supporters feel inspired and valued so that we convert and retain them over the long-term.

It will use a combination of relationship fundraising techniques and mass fundraising activities. In person events will play a pivotal role, as well as communications and journeys across both digital and print channels.It will also support and enable colleagues to confidently engage in legacy fundraising activities.

This role is critical in growing future legacy income for RNID, which currently represents 72% of RNID’s income.It is a new role, responsible for ensuring supporters are cultivated and stewarded to deepen their legacy support over the long-term.

This role is a new addition to the Legacy Fundraising Team of four, reporting into the Head of Legacies and working closely with the Legacy Marketing Manager and the Legacy Fundraising Officer. We are part of a fundraising team of 20. 

You’re an experienced legacy fundraiser with legacy marketing knowledge as well as strong supporter care and supporter relationship management skills. You’re able to deliver a busy and varied programme of operational activity. You’re comfortable working at a fast pace on multiple activities simultaneously.You’ve personally planned and delivered multiple in person events for legacy supporters.You’re organised and an excellent project manager, able to plan and manage activities at once to agreed deadlines and budgets. You work well collaborating with others and are able to influence internal stakeholders at all levels. You’re ready to apply your skills and experience to grow RNID’s legacy stewardship programme to its full potential. 

You will be responsible for: 

· Managing and deliveringa multifaceted legacy stewardship programme across digital and postal channels as well as in person activities.

· Personally managing a small portfolio of one to one supporter relationships 

· Planning and delivering a programme of in person legacy events

· Coordinating and delivering excellent quality legacy supporter care across RNID

· Project managing all activities and working closely with colleagues to create legacy stewardship communications, journeys and collateral. 

· Educating and training colleagues across RNID to confidently support legacy fundraising activities. 

· Monitoring and reporting on budget and non-financial performance of all stewardship activities
