The Operations Manager is a new leadership position that will play a pivotal role in the delivery of FFLAG’s operations which span online, offline, and local group support for parents and carers of LGBT+ loved ones. About FFLAG

FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity and is the UK’s longest established parent support charity in the LGBT+ sector. Our history began in the grassroots parent helplines of the 1960s, grew through the 1980’s and 90’s as we supported anxious parents and fought against the discrimination of Section 28, becoming a formally registered charity in 2000.

Our work sounds simple, but it is life changing. We help parents and families understand, accept and support their LGBT+ family members with love and pride.

We offer a range of support options spanning 121 online and helpline support services, to a UK-wide monthly group Zoom meeting and face to face local groups. We also have an extensive collection of online resources and guides.  We attend as many Pride events as we can and our work supports thousands of families every year. This support is provided by an active base of FFLAG volunteers who are parents of LGBT+ children themselves, supported by other volunteers and allies. 

In addition to our support work, FFLAG advocates for the full human and civil rights of LGBT+ individuals. FFLAG speaks out and acts to defend and enhance those human and civil rights. 

What this job is all about

Simply put, as Operations Manager you will ensure the charity's activities are effective, sustainable, and aligned with our mission to support families with LGBT+ members

Reporting directly to the Chair, working closely with the Board of Trustees and supported by a part-time Volunteer Engagement & Events Coordinator you will:

• Lead and supervise the daily operational functions, ensuring smooth and compliant delivery of services.

About the role

• The role is 22.5 hours per week for a fixed term of two years with a salary of £15,000 PA
• We can offer flexible working and hybrid working. You may wish to work at Whitney Sawmills, Herefordshire, for example for a day per week, though this is not required.
• Planned evening and weekend working as required.
• 25 days plus Bank/Public holidays as paid leave pro rata
• Your line manager will be the Woodland Heritage Skills Project Manager

This role is part of a £238,442 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to create ‘Woodland Heritage Skills’; two years of educational workshops, digital educational assets and collaboration with its members and partners to deliver the charity’s new Open Woods & Workshops initiative.

A tremendous £13,547 of this grant is matched funding from the outdoor furniture B-Corp Gaze Burvill, a corporate member of Woodland Heritage, alongside fellow personal and corporate members of the charity.

We're looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working independently, enjoys building strong relationships, and can provide high-quality HR support across a regional workforce.

As our HR Advisor, you'll provide practical, people-focused guidance to managers and employees across a variety of HR areas. You'll work primarily from home, with very occasional travel to sites within the region (typically in Kent and surrounding areas)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR advice on employee relations matters, policies, processes, and best practice
• Support managers with sickness, performance, conduct, and capability cases
• Guide and coach stakeholders to build confidence in managing people-related issues
• Coordinate and support HR processes including onboarding, contract changes, and employee lifecycle administration
• Work collaboratively with the wider HR team on projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies

We're looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in an HR Advisor or similar generalist role
• Confident managing ER cases from start to finish
• Knowledgeable about UK employment law and HR best practice
• A strong communicator, able to build trust and credibility quickly
• Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working remotely
• Ideally based in Kent or nearby for ad-hoc travel to local sites

As Commercial Business Development Manager for the South Region, you'll be responsible for driving the development of high-quality tender submissions. This will include undertaking market analysis and strategic service design in collaboration with colleagues from across the organisation, including operations, clinical, finance and HR.

Key priorities will include:

Project management: leading a project team to produce high-quality, competitive, and financially viable bids.

Bid writing: contributing to the writing of technical responses, implementation plans, and service models.

Commercial modelling: developing costed pricing models that reflect specifications, internal cost structures and delivery models.

Strategic analysis and pipeline development: monitoring market trends, commissioner expectations, and competitor positioning to inform our regional pipelines.

Collaboration: working closely with Directors, Operational Leads and other Subject Matter Experts to prepare for commissioning and tendering activity, including designing service models.

Compliance & quality: ensuring all models comply with procurement regulations and public sector contracting expectations.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. You will work from home, with travel across England and Scotland as required. The salary for this role is £37,000 to £44,290, depending on experience.
