As the House Coordinator, you will have direct contact with children and their families, often during challenging times. We are seeking an experienced Academic Quality and Conduct Officer to join our Registry team and oversee the processes for the organisation in relation to academic quality and standards and student conduct, complaints and appeals. The postholder will help ensure that academic regulations, quality assurance processes, committee operations and student casework procedures are implemented consistently, fairly and effectively, in line with institutional policy, sector expectations and regulatory requirements.

This role will focus both on the monitoring of academic quality and standards to ensure they meet sector standards (e.g. the UK Quality Code and OfS sector recognised standards) and ensuring that academic casework and regulations are appropriately administered and handled in line with best practice through investigating, tracking and managing case work for academic appeals, complaints, fitness to practise and other academic policies and procedures. About the role

Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the South West region in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire or Somerset. About the team 

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the South West, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team of 10, which includes two Regional Casework Managers and a Regional Operations Manager. 

About you 

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

 It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. The Mental Health Trainer – Children & Young People will deliver Croydon Drop In’s children and young people’s mental health training funded by Public Health Croydon.

The postholder will plan, develop and deliver high-quality mental health training focused on children and young people to schools, colleges, youth organisations, parents and carers, voluntary and community sector organisations, frontline workers and other partners across Croydon. The role will focus on improving understanding of children and young people’s mental health, reducing stigma, encouraging early intervention, strengthening resilience in families and communities, and improving knowledge of local support available in Croydon.

This post is specifically focused on children and young people’s mental health training. Training for adults will sit outside the main focus of this role and will be delivered through the wider partnership arrangements.

The postholder will deliver training in accessible community, school and youth settings, support participant recruitment, contribute to co-production and involvement of children, young people and families with lived experience, collect feedback and monitoring information, and work with partners to ensure the training offer is relevant to Croydon’s diverse children, young people and families.
