You should also be highly organised and self-motivated, with the drive to make a real difference.

If you consider yourself to be from a background where progressing to university mathematics is not the norm then we strongly encourage you to apply.
About Axiom Maths
Axiom Maths is a maths education charity on a mission to help every child with the heart and head for maths realise the potential of their power - especially those whose potential is too often held back by disadvantage. Every year 30,000 children who were top performers at the end of primary school don’t go on to get top GCSE grades in maths. We aim to change that by partnering with schools across England and Wales to run fully-funded in-school or online maths circles. Pupils tackle challenging and rewarding maths problems in a supportive social group where the subject is valued.
About the role
This is an exciting chance to share your passion for maths, challenge young minds and nurture mathematical talent in your local community.
As a Maths Excellence Tutor, you will lead weekly extracurricular maths circles sessions with small groups of carefully selected high-attaining pupils at local schools. These aren't ordinary lessons. Axiom Maths is a taught enrichment programme that takes pupils beyond the school curriculum. Pupils tackle challenging and rewarding problems together, lose themselves in mathematical thinking, and leave each session a little more confident in who they are as mathematicians.
You will typically lead a minimum of 3 maths circles per week, where available. You will be working with our regional School Partnerships team who will support with the schools you are working in and keep you connected with what is happening across the region. Your schools will have a designated contact who will offer insights and guidance to help your maths circles thrive. You will be provided with training, introductory videos, and curriculum materials for every session, so you can focus on what matters: sparking curiosity and building the next generation of mathematicians.
There are no mandatory set hours, but the role is best suited to candidates available between 3:00pm-5pm on at least 3 weekdays. You can indicate any regular unavailability in your application.
Applications: Please note, your application must include the video submission to be considered.
The duties of this role include
Prepare for each session: Watch the introductory video, work through the problems yourself, read the guidance notes and think about how you'll draw the maths out of your pupils.
Lead the Axiom Maths curriculum: Lead sessions that spark curiosity, stretch thinking, and challenge and inspire.
Build a community of mathematicians: Help pupils see themselves as mathematicians and feel part of a larger network of like-minded peers supporting each other
Develop in-school connections: Work closely with in-school staff to tailor your maths circle to their school context and to meet pupil needs
Reporting and feedback:
• Report weekly on pupils' attendance and share feedback on curriculum resources so we can keep improving them together
• Report to schools how your pupils are progressing as mathematicians
• Complete mentor surveys to help shape the programme
General:
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils at all times
• Adhere to data protection, confidentiality and IT policies
• Attend initial and ongoing training and take an active part in our quality assurance process
You should apply if you
Belief in the value of our mission and align closely with our culture and values:
we put our users first
we move with momentum towards excellence
we feel high ownership and act with high agency
we are one team.
Are passionate about maths and have a strong conceptual understanding of it
Are pursuing or have completed a STEM degree, or have equivalent experience (for example, through work)
Have experience working with young people
Are proactive, flexible and align with the Axiom Maths ethos
You must have
The right to work in the UK
Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
A commitment to equality of opportunity and to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils
Willingness to travel regularly within the area (travel expenses are covered)
Willingness to undertake online training and development
Safeguarding: At Axiom Maths, safeguarding the children we work with is our highest priority. All candidates must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and provide two professional or academic references.
Equal Opportunities
We don’t want potential candidates to be put off if they believe they do not meet every one of the criteria as described in the person specification. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may be one who comes from a less traditional background. We would encourage you to apply, even if you don’t believe you meet every one of our criteria.
We are especially keen to receive applications from people whose background is under-represented in mathematics.

Health & Wellbeing Lead - Love Barton
Are you a Christian leader passionate about supporting adults to thrive in the face of challenging circumstances?
At Love Barton, our mission is simple: to see people and families in Barton flourish, whatever their circumstances. Together, we're working towards fewer people facing food insecurity and poor mental health, young people with the self-esteem to make good decisions, and parents and carers with the confidence to see their children thrive.
What we do - and why it's great to work here
Barton is a council estate on the outskirts of Oxford with a tough reputation, but we see something different: a community brimming with talent, kindness and resilience. As a Christian charity established in 2022, we work in close partnership with Barton Community Church to tackle the deep-rooted obstacles - poverty, family breakdown, poor mental health, low self-esteem - that stop people here reaching their potential.
We already run a listening service, a twice-weekly emergency foodbank, and a family food pantry, supporting hundreds of adults and children each year. We're a small, close-knit team, and every person who joins us gets to see the direct impact of their work on real lives in the community.
The role and its impact
As Health & Wellbeing Lead, you'll head up an exciting set of projects on the Barton estate - leading volunteers and managing programmes that meet the health and wellbeing needs of the local community. You'll manage and grow our existing services, and work with the Charity Director to spot new opportunities and support fundraising.

Bydd ein Cynorthwyydd Gweithrediadau yn darparu cymorth amhrisiadwy i’r tîm Gweithrediadau, Cyllid a Llywodraethu i sicrhau bod ein sefydliad yn cael ei redeg yn ddidrafferth.
Byddai’r swydd hon yn addas ar gyfer unigolyn rhagweithiol, trefnus sy’n rhoi sylw i fanylion ac a fyddai’n mwynhau swydd amrywiol yn cefnogi tîm deinamig, a bod yn rhan ohono. Ar gyfer rôl lefel Cynorthwyydd, nid ydym yn disgwyl i chi fod â phrofiad sylweddol o waith blaenorol, ond rydym yn chwilio am rywun sy’n gallu ysgogi ei hun, sydd ag awydd i ddysgu, ac mae agwedd ragweithiol wrth gynorthwyo pobl eraill a dod o hyd i ddatrysiadau yn hanfodol.
Mae CDdC yn cefnogi unigolion sydd wrthi’n dysgu Cymraeg. Nid yw bod yn rhugl yn y Gymraeg yn ofynnol ar gyfer y swydd hon, ond mae’r gallu i gyfathrebu yn y Gymraeg yn ddymunol, a’r parodrwydd i ddysgu yn hanfodol.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in taking the Learned Society of Wales forward: ensuring we are operating at our very best – as an effective, well-governed and professional organisation – so that we can deliver our ambitious strategy to benefit Wales. Our Operations Assistant will provide invaluable support to the Operations, Finance and Governance team to ensure the smooth running of our organisation.
