Join Us as a Finance Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of ESC. This part-time position (10 hours per week) is essential to maintaining strong financial records, reviewing budgets, and supporting compliance across the club’s operations. As a charity, our financial health is vital to delivering exceptional training, competitions, and community-based initiatives. Your expertise will help us grow and continue to provide high-quality opportunities for swimmers across all levels. Working closely with the Senior Management Team and Trustee Board, you will help with financial operations and contribute to the long-term success of the club.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Maintain the integrity of financial records for the charity and its members.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts as required.
• Account Management: Prepare quarterly management accounts and year-end accounts, including pre-payments, accruals, and journal entries.
• Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on the management accounts.
• Audit Preparation: Liaise with external auditors to prepare year-end statutory accounts.
• Treasury Management: Manage surplus funds efficiently.
• Payroll & HMRC Compliance: Prepare and manage monthly payroll and pension payments, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Policy Review: Conduct an annual review of ESC’s finance policies and procedures.
• Governance & Reporting: Attend trustee meetings and monthly operations board meetings as required.
• Sage Management: Ensure integrity of Sage accounting software.

• Project Support: Lead ad hoc financial projects as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5 years of experience in management accounting.
• ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent) preferable.
• Experience in charity finance preferred.
• Proficiency in Sage, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong numeracy and accuracy skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Job Title: Payroll and Pensions Administrator 

Location: Islington, London, (Around a 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station) Hybrid working with 2 days a week in the office and service visits regularly across London, Brighton, Luton, Bedford, Kent, and Liverpool. Once a month, the full People and Culture team have a collaborative office day on a Monday. 

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00, with some flexibility around these hours as required.

About the role

Our People and Culture team are hiring a Payroll and Pensions Administrator to join the team to support with ensuring our staff are paid efficiently, accurately, and on time. You will play a pivotal part of the team to support with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll for all, coordinating effective and efficient end-to-end payroll and pensions administration, plus any additional relevant activities. You will utilise the tools and resources available to ensure we meet the needs of all our stakeholders and comply with legal matters. The role will further include:

• Taking ownership of administrative tasks in the payroll and pensions process, being the point of contact for enquiries in this area.
• Supporting the administrative process of payroll and pensions, including with the database/system, ensure that any problems are identified with the relevant departments for effective resolution.
• Ensure the process for all adaptations are carried out in a timely manner.
• Support relevant colleagues to ensure the correct payments, reports, and returns are made to HMRC, pension providers, and other bodies.

About the role

At EngineeringUK we use evidence to make a real difference. Through research insight and robust evaluation, we work to improve the impact of our own work, as well as that of other organisations in our sector. Our aim is to make a positive difference to young people’s lives and securing the diverse engineering and technology workforce the UK needs to thrive. The research and evaluation team consists of 6 researchers and analysts who work to provide these insights.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver and develop our evaluation projects, to help build an evidence-base for engineering and technology outreach activities and to shape how we use this evidence to inform our own and others’ practice.

With support from the Head of Evaluation and Impact, you will be the operational lead on our evaluations, with responsibility for:

• critically assessing the evidence required to ascertain impact of engineering and technology outreach activities across a complex landscape, with an emphasis on groups historically underrepresented in the engineering and technology professions
• designing and managing the evaluation of our educational programmes, including the practicalities and logistics of collecting/analysing these data, and reporting findings to internal and external stakeholders

We are looking for a Community Fundraising Officer to join our Public Fundraising team to deliver our Facebook Challenges, build relationships with our wonderful fundraisers and help them raise as much money as possible for people with arthritis.

About the role

You will play a key part in developing and delivering our community fundraising strategy, making sure that anyone and everyone who wants to fundraise for people with arthritis has a great experience doing it. You will build strong relationships with supporters, be that as part of a golf club charity of the year partnership, workplace fundraising or supporting someone with a personal connection to arthritis to raise money in their local area. Developing, delivering and ultimately growing our Facebook challenges offer will be a huge focus – we have some great learnings and are now looking to take them to the next level. There will be plenty of opportunity to test and learn as part of this, and you will get the chance to learn and develop in the role too.

You will work collaboratively with teams across the organisation, from marketing to product development to events, to make sure our products meet the needs of our supporters and that their journey through the organisation is seamless. You will join an ambitious, creative and passionate fundraising team who put people with arthritis and our supporters at the heart of our work.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Proven successful track record of planning and delivering community fundraising products (or similar) to achieve a good return on investment.
• Experience of delivering excellent supporter or customer stewardship through multi-channels and building relationships with a wide variety of supporters on the phone, in writing and face to face driving engagement, increasing income, and increasing supporter retention.  
• Experience to successfully and independently manage projects, delivering to pre-set deadlines, managing high workloads and ability to understand how and when to prioritise work. 
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.  
• Understanding of the Fundraising Code of Practice and ensuring all fundraisers are always following correct guidance.  
• Skilled at building excellent relationships with a wide range of people. 
  Understanding and prior experience of using customer relationship management (CRM) databases.

Role Requirements

• Work in collaboration with the Senior Placement Managers and multidisciplinary team to manage the child’s pathway from the time they are accepted for admission, through their care pathway and discharge.
•  Work with Senior Placement Managers and Senior Business Development & Commissioning Manager to ensure the package and contract issued to funders is appropriate for the child’s needs and is regularly reviewed to ensure the care needs.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams across school and child and family services to ensure that all clinical and contractual requirements for the child are comprehensively managed.
• Escalate complex and unresolved issues for support to ensure a positive outcome.
•  Ensure the parents/guardians, multidisciplinary team are aware pre-admission and throughout the admission of the arrangements for the admission, including length of stay and discharge plans.
• Take on the lead role for discharge coordination for children and young people accessing neurorehabilitation and step-down placements. Proactively plan discharges including liaison with multiagency teams required to take over care. Where appropriate, chairing discharge planning meetings.

About the role:
You’ll join a growing organisation during an exciting period of change, helping deliver excellent housing services for over 1,000 residents. Reporting to the Housing Manager, you'll manage a patch of properties and be responsible for a range of tenancy management functions, including lettings, rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, and resident engagement. You’ll work collaboratively across teams to support residents’ independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering tenancy services such as allocations, lettings, tenancy audits, and rent management
• Managing anti-social behaviour cases and ensuring legal use of housing stock
• Supporting residents with rehousing, transfers, mutual exchanges, and benefits advice
• Building strong relationships with residents and engaging them in service delivery

• Maintaining accurate records and working to KPIs on income and tenancy sustainment

To perform well in this role, you’ll need:

• Experience of delivering excellent customer service, ideally within housing or support services
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
• The ability to remain calm and empathetic when handling complex or sensitive issues
• A good grasp of IT and CRM systems, plus strong numerical skills
• A proactive, can-do approach to service delivery
• An understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in the context of social housing

Previous experience in Social Housing is preferred but not essential.
