About the Role

The Upper Room (TUR) supports individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, social exclusion and involvement with the criminal justice system. Through UR4Meals and UR4Driving we provide practical support, dignity and opportunity to some of the most disadvantaged members of our community in West London. 

We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to take full ownership of and grow our most important income stream.

Trusts and foundations account for over half of our income, and we have an established portfolio of funders alongside several multi-year grants. This role is central to maintaining that income and driving its growth.

This is a hands-on, autonomous role requiring someone who can independently manage a live pipeline, write high-quality applications, and build strong, long-term funder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Trusts and Foundations Fundraising (lead responsibility)

• Identify, research and secure funding from trusts, foundations and statutory sources
• Develop high-quality, persuasive funding applications, including larger and multi-year bids
• Manage and maintain a robust pipeline of funding opportunities
• Lead on reporting, monitoring and reapplications

• Contribute to and support delivery of TUR’s fundraising strategy

Person Specification

Essential

• Direct experience securing funding from trusts and foundations; applications without this experience will not be considered
• Demonstrable track record of securing five-figure grants (and ideally multi-year funding)
• Experience managing the full funding cycle, from prospect research through to reporting and stewardship
• Experience managing a pipeline of multiple funders and deadlines
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling and tailored proposals
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
• Confidence engaging with funders and representing an organisation externally

What you will be doing

• Lead on the development and implementation of a successful trusts and foundations strategy that achieves £2.5m of restricted and unrestricted income by the end of 2026 and delivers growth from 2027. 
• Offer inspirational leadership to the Trusts and Foundations Team, line managing a T&F manager and a T&F officer. 
• Take overall responsibility for developing and managing a robus pipeline of trusts and foundations and statutory funders that enables London Youth to hit its income targets, coordinating the distribution of responsibilities across the team, including the implementation of a quarterly mailout.
• Work in close collaboration with appropriate teams across London Youth to ensure all applications and proposals produced by the team are compelling, accurate, produced to the highest possible standards, and submitted to deadline. 
• Ensure contracts or MOUs are in place with all funders and that all conditions and reporting requirements are clear and met. 
• Ensure all information is recorded in an accurate and timely manner on Salesforce, enabling you to track progress against monthly income targets and KPIs, and expertly steward and manage all relationships with funders. 
• Lead on the development of the annual Trusts and Foundations budgets and the monthly review of management accounts for your area. 
• Produce appropriate reports and presentations for team, directorate, senior team, committee, and board meetings. 
• Prepresent the fundraising team in leadership team meetings and senior meetings as appropriate when required. 
• Contribute to wider fundraising and communications led activities such as site visits, Lunch and Learn sessions, the London Youth Awards, and external networking opportunities.

Office Management

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK as a Mass Participation Manager (Engagement) where you’ll shape how we connect with and inspire mass participation supporters, ensuring every interaction is meaningful, timely and drives long-term engagement. The Owned Products Team is responsible for delivering key flagship events such as Time for a Cuppa, alongside other mass participation fundraising products at Dementia UK. Working closely with the Mass Participation Manager (Virtual Projects) and Mass Participation Manager (Products) you will drive excellent supporter experience, ensuring supporters are engaged, well-supported throughout their events, and motivated to continue their engagement with Dementia UK.

A part of this role will be project based, with the goal to develop supporter experience to build lifetime value of supporters by regularly reviewing stewardship journeys. You will also work with other fundraising teams to identify any other fundraising opportunities to continue the supporter journey after our virtual events to build supporter long term value. You will be managing a team of four and will support them with complaints escalation, first point of contact customer service with mass participation supporters, and identify areas of improvement with the team’s processes.

We are looking for you to have experience with high volume of supporter enquiries and some experience of managing a team or helping them to deliver excellent supporter or customer care, especially in busy periods. Help tackle child food insecurity by working directly with schools, building relationships, capturing impact, and supporting community fundraising that drives real change.

This is an opportunity to join a growing charity at a pivotal moment and play a key role in expanding a national programme supporting children and families across the UK. This is one of the charity’s first two hires and is a hands-on role in a small team.

MCKS Charitable Foundation works with schools to provide pantry and breakfast support to families experiencing food insecurity. We currently support over 180 schools and are now scaling our work towards 500+ schools nationally.

We’re looking for a Schools, Community & Impact Manager to help us strengthen our relationships with schools, understand how our support is being used, and capture the stories and data that allow us to grow our impact.

• Invoicing & credit control: You’ll take charge of the monthly invoicing process, gathering information from contracts, timesheets and project software to prepare accurate invoices for our clients and encourage them to pay on time. You’ll make sure what we bill reflects the work we’ve actually delivered.
• Payments & payroll: You’ll prepare a weekly payment schedule, making sure our valued freelancers get paid on time and keeping an eye on cashflow. You’ll also bring our monthly payroll preparation and reporting in-house (currently outsourced).
• Reporting & forecasting: You’ll be working closely with the Commercial Director and the Head of Strategy to ensure we’re on track with monthly targets, monitor financial trends, and flag risks or opportunities early - keeping our cash flow, accounts, and forecasts accurate and up to date.

About the Role:

You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside professionals in a multi-agency environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of both domestic and sexual violence.

This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office in Singer Street.

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic and sexual abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
• Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.

You will need to:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic and sexual abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic and sexual abuse including the impact of abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic and sexual abuse and their children.
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic and sexual abuse or other vulnerable people.
