• Collaborate with the Head of Finance to ensure robust financial planning, budgeting, and reporting for operations

• Support funding bids primarily where linked to core and operational costs

HR and People Management inc

• Support the People Officer in the development of People strategy and implementation (recruitment, performance, wellbeing, learning & development).

Service leadership inc

• The role currently includes management of the reception and admin team who support women as they come into the building and utilise the welcome space for activities as well as support the logistical running of the building

Facilities & Health and Safety inc

• Manage the charity’s facilities (offices, community spaces, etc.) and ensure safe working environments.

• Oversee health and safety compliance and business continuity planning. 

Leadership and Strategic Input

Contribute to organisational strategy and business planning.

• Work closely with other members of the senior leadership team to ensure alignment across contracts, teams and activity offers

• Build and maintain working partnerships with external organisations 

• Support and develop your team ensuring they are competent and empowered to undertake their roles and support you and the organisation deliver quality services   

• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and Nottingham Women’s Centre policies and procedures, including the Centre’s Equal Opportunities policy and Health and Safety Policy. 

• Deputise for the CEO as required.

About the role

You will complete an Initial Needs Assessment (INA) with each client, having a detailed discussion with them to outline their situation and the support they need. A strengths-based approach is used to identify the positive attributes that they can build upon to achieve their goals and is reflected in the design of the INA.

Working together with your client, you will map out and agree a set of interventions and the outcomes needed, encouraging and empowering them to actively contribute towards their goals.

You will carry a fluctuating case load of service users with varying levels of needs. The focus of the service is to support the desistance model, supporting individuals to achieve their full potential.

The position will be based Hull Women’s Centre, with other locations and travel expected when needed across the National Probation Service Region in Humberside.

About You 

You have considerable experience of housing law and debt advice, along with an understanding of issues affecting homelessness and women with multiple and complex needs. You have a successful track record of delivering services for women and advocating for clients to agencies and authorities. You can adapt complex information into practical plans and proactively manage your caseload.

Motivating and encouraging your clients will be a key part of the role, as well the ability to build rapport, trust and actively listen to their needs. As you will be working closely with clients, a sound understanding of professional boundaries is crucial. If you have experience of working in a criminal justice setting that would be an advantage but is not essential.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:

Women in Prison’s Project Workers deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending. We are now looking for an Income Generation Manager to join our team, on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the importance of sustainable funding and wants to use their skills to make a real difference. In this role, you will provide targeted support to community organisations and community-led libraries across Birmingham, helping them to develop their fundraising skills and build long-term financial resilience.

You will deliver bespoke support, workshops, and resources designed to improve income generation across the sector. Working closely with organisations, you will help identify and secure suitable funding opportunities through bid writing, applications to trusts and foundations, and developing other income streams such as events, sponsorship and corporate partnerships. You will also take a hands-on approach to achieving agreed income targets — around £200,000 in the first year, rising to £500,000 within 18 months.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work with Birmingham City Council and other strategic partners to ensure our support aligns with city-wide priorities, while also building strong relationships with funders and networks to open up new opportunities for community groups. Alongside this, you will monitor outcomes and report on the impact of your work, maintaining accurate records and producing reports that highlight progress and learning across the programme.

To succeed in this role, you will need to bring proven experience in fundraising or income generation, ideally within the voluntary and community sector. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to write compelling bids and proposals. About the role:

This role will work across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, but will be based in our Stafford office. Hybrid working is considered following our mandatory six month probationary period. Travel across the whole of Staffordshire will be required.

As an IDVA you will be asked to:

• Provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• Promoting the service and raising awareness of issues arising, minimising barriers and improving access to support

You will need:

• Experience of providing support those affected by domestic abuse
• Experience of undertaking need and risk assessments and creating safety plans
• Experience of the MARAC and other partnership processes
• Experience of multi agency working

Our Community Crisis Cafes offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis.

About the Role

This will involve working with service users in a preventative way, assessing needs, deescalating crisis, offering coping strategies, signposting to other services and ensuring they feel supported, through the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing.

Staff will work with a team of Crisis Recovery Workers.

Service Delivery

• Deliver crisis focussed 1:1s and ensure outcomes which supports individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in Houghton Regis & Central Bedfordshire, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed crisis service and requirements as well as contract requirements.
• Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to service’s process and undertaking 1:1s.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
• Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

Voice 21 is the UK's national oracy education charity, dedicated to transforming the learning and life chances of young people through talk. The organisation works in partnership with schools to embed high-quality oracy education, working especially in schools where it can make the greatest impact. By equipping educators and students with the skills to speak, listen, and communicate effectively, Voice 21 aims to create a fairer society where every child has the oracy skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

The Head of Communications and Campaigns will lead Voice 21's communication, campaigns and events functions, bringing strategic vision, expertise and enthusiasm to play an integral role in ensuring all children, regardless of their background, have the oracy skills they need to thrive in school, work and life.

Contract: Permanent role

Salary: £47,362 to £50,981 plus £312 annual working from home allowance.

Location: All Voice 21 staff work remotely and this is a home-based role. Some travel is expected, both to the organisation's London office and elsewhere for meetings, around once a month. Voice 21 pays all travel and accommodation expenses.

Hours: Voice 21 is very happy to consider applications from candidates wishing to work full time, or part time four days per week. The organisation also offers the opportunity to work a nine-day condensed fortnight.

As Head of Communications and Campaigns, your core responsibilities will include:

• Set the vision for Communications and Campaigns across the organisation, supporting the organisation's ambitions to expand system-wide understanding of a high-quality oracy education
• Amplify Voice 21's reputation and standing in the sector, positioning Voice 21 as the 'oracy authority' through insightful, thought-provoking communications
• Work closely with the Head of Learning to ensure effective communication of the impact Voice 21's work is having in schools across the UK
• Work collaboratively across the organisation to develop key messages for audiences, including both education and non-education stakeholders
• Lead on the refinement and maintenance of Voice 21's brand, including visual identity and tone of voice
• Lead on the management of Voice 21's external channels, including website and social media
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of Voice 21's communications, using appropriate research and monitoring approaches
• Work closely with the Campaign Manager to oversee Voice 21's annual campaigns, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives
• Work closely with the Events Lead to oversee Voice 21's events programme, including Oracy October and the Great Oracy Exhibition, and the development of the events function as a cross-organisational 'service'
• Work creatively and collaboratively across Voice 21, and with external partners, to develop new campaigns that meet strategic objectives
• Provide inspirational leadership to your team of four direct reports, prioritising their professional development and wellbeing
• Represent Communications and Campaigns on the Whole Leadership Team, contributing to organisational leadership, planning and performance management.

We'd love to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Proven leadership within either Communications or Campaigns, with a strong understanding of both
• Solid experience in the development of compelling and strategic key messages in education, public sector or non-profit settings
• Experience with monitoring, evaluation and target-setting regarding communications and campaigns
• Proven track record of writing to a high standard for external publication, such as reports, press releases, op-eds and blog posts
• Experience leading or supporting cross-functional teams
• Able to form excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Experience with data-driven approaches to communications, e.g. familiarity with web analytics, campaign monitoring software, etc.
