Role & Responsibilities
We're looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused individual to join our People & Organisational Development team. This is a brilliantly varied role that offers the opportunity to make a real impact across the organisation. You'll be a key point of contact for colleagues, volunteers and managers, supporting everything from recruitment, onboarding and employee wellbeing to volunteer development, learning and development, and organisational projects.
Working within a dynamic team with a broad remit, you'll gain exposure to traditional HR, organisational development, volunteering and organisational operations. You'll also support a range of systems and processes that help the Trust run effectively, including people technology, digital platforms and emerging AI-enabled ways of working.
If you're someone who enjoys building relationships, improving processes, solving problems and helping people thrive, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll be involved in:

  • Supporting the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to learning, development and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing excellent support to managers and colleagues across the Trust.
  • Coordinating and developing our volunteer programme, helping volunteer managers recruit, engage and support volunteers.
  • Maintaining and improving key people, volunteer and organisational systems, ensuring data is accurate, compliant and useful
  • Supporting organisational projects across areas including wellbeing, culture, volunteering, technology, AI and continuous improvement
  • Helping ensure our people and organisational operations run smoothly, contributing to an excellent experience for employees and volunteers alike.

Our ideal People & Organisational Support Officer

  • Experience in either an HR/ People related role, or within a volunteer coordination role within a charity
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Confident using digital systems and technology, with a willingness to learn new platforms and ways of working.
  • A proactive problem solver who enjoys improving processes and finding practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for supporting people, volunteers and organisational success.
  • Commitment to London Wildlife Trust's mission, values and approach to equality, diversity and inclusion.
