About you

We’re seeking a candidate with significant experience in legacy management within the charity sector, or a recognised professional qualification (Qualified private client Solicitor, Qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners, or Qualified Chartered Legal Executive with experience of Wills and probate).

You’ll have advanced knowledge of law and legacy administration. You will have experience in managing complex casework across Wills, probate, trusts, tax, estate management, and multi-jurisdictional processes.

You’ll be outstanding stakeholder manager, able to manage sensitive or contentious cases with empathy, engaging compassionately with families, executors, and stakeholders while protecting our reputation.

You will have:

• Demonstrated strategic thinking with a track record of delivering results, driving innovation, and optimising legacy income.
• Extensive experience in private client and legacy management, including mentoring and developing teams through best practice sharing.
• Resilient and adaptable approach, able to manage varied and demanding workloads while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in legal and financial matters.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills with supporters, solicitors, co-beneficiaries, and internal teams.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication, including clear presentation of complex issues and communicating BHF’s mission, and
• High financial numeracy, strong IT skills (Microsoft Office essential; First Class 4 desirable).

Working arrangements  

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering family leave.

Whilst this role is advertised as full time (35 hours per week), we are also very open to considering the role on a part time basis of either 28 or 32 hours if preferred.

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

JOB PURPOSE 

UK for UNHCR (UK4U), the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for a Prospect Research Officer to join a small but high performing team with big ambitions. This role will play a key part in continuing to build our UHNWI, HNWI, Trust and Foundation and Corporate and pipelines, by working closely with the Prospect Research Manager, fundraising colleagues as well as UNHCR internationally.   
 

This role reports to the Prospect Research Manager, who is responsible for developing and driving the prospect research strategy, due diligence and all high level, strategic prospect research.  The post holder will help identify research, organise and evaluate a prospect’s financial capacity, ability to give, willingness to give, charitable interests, and connection to the organisation, operating within the organisation’s due diligence process. The role will support UK for UNHCR’s due diligence process by helping to renew due diligence on existing pipelines, to completing some new due diligence profiles on lower-level prospects through utilising key due diligence tools and platforms, working with the Prospect Research Manager and members of the Partnerships and Philanthropy team, SMT and UNHCR’s global due diligence team. 
 

Passionate about the refugee cause and UNHCR’s contribution, you will have demonstrable experience of successfully identifying prospects as well as preparing and presenting in depth prospect briefs for across the high value fundraising pipeline from UHNW and HNW individuals, Trusts & Foundations and Corporates. You will be familiar with using a variety of information sources, of complying with GDPR and other regulations and working with a CRM database. Donor focussed and a problem solver, you will with have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be someone who enjoys working as part of a team.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES   

• Working with the Prospect Research Manager to support the overarching strategy for the prospect research function and to help deliver a strong and sustainable prospect pipeline. 
• Prepare prospect research profiles for the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, whether in preparation for individual meetings or for a range of events. 
•  Support the Prospect Research Manager’s work with the Director of Private Philanthropy to identify UHNWI prospects and their work with the Senior Philanthropy 
• Advisor to identify prospective members of UK for UNHCR’s first advisory development board.  
•  Using a broad spectrum of sources, identify, research, organise and evaluate a prospect’s financial capacity, ability to give, willingness to give, charitable interests, and connection to the organisation. Support fundraising staff in prioritising prospects.  
•  Keep up to date on trends and new ways of working within Prospect research and due diligence.
• Work within UK4U’s due diligence policy and processes, supporting the Prospect Research Manager to maintain a system to enable the organisation to track due diligence carried out, ensuring compliance with all regulatory best practice standards. 
• Produce in-depth, well-written reports on prospects based on a combination of data from the donor database, open access records and other markers of high-quality donors. 
• Support the Prospect Research Manager to embed best practice use of the database within the team. 
• Provide general support to fundraising staff and work on special projects when called for.
• Support Prospect Research Managers bi-yearly pipeline reviews to ensure pipelines remain dynamic and fit for purpose.

About St Giles Trust 
An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others. 

St Giles is expanding its delivery of hospital-based projects; this service is aimed at vulnerable 10 to 25-year-olds who attend the adult or paediatric emergency department or Urgent Care Centre at Whipps Cross ED. We will work alongside hospital staff to proactively identify vulnerable young people and help them to access and engage the support they need to prevent any potential escalation of violence and reduce the risk of repeat victimisation or exploitation.

About this key role 
You will be embedded in the trauma team, working closely with clinicians and hospital staff to provide support for young people admitted to the Major Trauma Centre right through to their discharge back into the community, including access to appropriate longer-term support. You will be expected to identify and provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service to young victims of violence people, exploring innovative and effective ways of supporting them which will reduce their risk of re-victimisation.  

You will produce support and risk management plans based on your assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies.  We will also count on you to deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, providing a practical service that will include social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, benefits work, debt advice, liaising with utilities, appearing in court, DIY and cleaning. 

What we are looking for
You will be passionate about support and uplifting Children and Young people and want to make a difference within the community for the betterment of Children and Young People. You’ll also have an understanding of dominant youth culture and be relatable. You’ll need:

• A good understanding of the communities we support, including barriers certain communities face as well as the drivers of violence and exploitation
• Substantial experience of providing support, advice and advocacy 
• Substantial experience of assessing the needs of children and young people who at risk of significant harm  
• Experience of working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young people
• Experience of assessing risk and implementing safety procedures as they relate to children and young people
• A knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area.

The Videographer and Photographer role sits within the Brand team. This role captures and edits high-quality video and photography to produce marketing, fundraising and brand assets for the organisation - working independently or collaboratively across multi-team projects.

About the role

You’ll be working on direct marketing campaigns that engage and inspire people to donate. And make it as easy as possible for them to choose the way they give. As part of the team, you’ll be innovative in a changing fundraising and external environment to achieve ambitious annual income targets.

What you’ll do

• Support the Senior Individual Giving Officers in achieving strategic objectives, monitoring income and expenditure and using database analysis to inform and improve the individual giving programme.

• Integrate the direct marketing programme into Fundraising and Experience Directorate activities and support the overall Parkinson’s UK strategic plan.

Introduction

Afield is a brand new charity responding to environmental injustice. We do this by working with communities to rewild disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods; and by supporting artists to undertake ecological research. This exciting and demanding role will be right at the heart of making everything happen!

Objectives

You will work alongside Afield’s two co-founders to define and run the urban wilding and arts grants programmes, including managing the cohort of grantees. We are looking for dynamism, energy and experience of grant management to help us launch the first round of grants and a support programme.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the two co-founders you will set up the arts research and wilding programmes. This will include launching and running opencall and selection processes, and the cohort support programmes. Once established you will lead subsequent programmes, and plan for future cohorts. You will be:

• Feeding into the design of the arts & wilding programmes

• Taking responsibility for, and running, the arts grants grants and wilding programme (including involvement in the selection of grantees, continual learning and evaluation)

• Liaising with partners on programme delivery (eg. local councils for wilding)

• Managing selectors and mentors, supporting peer learning, and organising workshops for both programmes

• Taking responsibility for managing the cohorts

• Working with a second team member (to be recruited) to promote the programme

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is: 

• Empathetic, has a positive attitude and a desire to help our grantees

• Energetic with a can-do, self-sufficient attitude, and with the ability to independently manage a busy workload, multiple deadlines and priorities

• Confident in their ability whilst self-aware and committed to ongoing development

• Interested (and perhaps experienced) in nature, ecology or the environment

We would also like to work with someone who has:

• Experience of running a grants or funded cohort programme (ideally in either arts grants or a pioneer-style programme)

• Ability and comfort in creating structure out of ambiguity; identifying challenges and opportunities; and expressing clear proposals for change

• Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written

• Good analytical and project management skills, and strong competency in setting up and using technology such as an application management platform

• Experience of line management or managing contractors. This is not essential, as there will not initially be full line management responsibility, but would be a benefit.

About the role

The Senior Legacy Manager will lead the development and delivery of London’s Air Ambulance Charity’s legacy programme, ensuring legacy giving is embedded across fundraising and marketing activity and is front of mind across the organisation.

This role is responsible for managing our legacy marketing programme, working closely with the marketing team to deliver compelling, sensitive and effective activity. The postholder will also oversee our outsourced legacy administration partner, ensuring legacy gifts are processed efficiently, compliantly and in line with best practice, through regular performance monitoring and review.

Working across the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate, the Senior Legacy Manager will champion legacies as a vital form of support, collaborating closely with all teams in the directorate. This will include working with the major donor team to identify and develop high-value legacy opportunities and supporting the community engagement team to integrate in-memory and legacy messaging into the community talks programme and engagement activity within the community.

The role also plays a key part in connecting our legacy and in-memory programmes, working with the community engagement team and the Deputy Director to develop a joined up in-memory strategy that ensures a coherent and compassionate supporter experience.

You’ll be an experienced and confident legacy fundraising professional with a passion for building long-term impact. You’ll be a strong collaborator who can influence across teams and seniority levels, and a persuasive advocate for the importance of legacy giving.
