You will oversee Relate’s paid and organic social media activity, build brand awareness and drive sales of services and toolkits, whilst also supporting wider Relate at Family Action work aligning both brands.

Main Responsibilities (for details check the job description and person specification):
• Manage Relate’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and the planning, creation and scheduling of organic content
• Work with the Social Media Manager and Head of Digital Marketing to develop a paid social media strategy and sales funnel to support B2C opportunities and the purchase of Relate’s services and toolkits by individuals and organisations.
• Create and manage paid social ad campaigns at each stage of the purchase funnel ie. awareness, interest, conversion.
• Support other social media channels linked to Relate at Family Action, such as those managed by our charity shop retail teams.

• Experience of effectively managing social media channels.
• Experience of delivering successful paid social media ad campaigns from end to end.
• Excellent copywriting skills and the ability to write powerfully and succinctly for different audiences and objectives.
• Experience of driving sales of products and services through social media marketing.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to take responsibility for the delivery of several key functions within the Supporter Care and Operations team. You will be responsible for the importing of data into the database, making sure that our supporters and beneficiaries receive an excellent experience by inputting high quality data and ensuring that our database is accurate at all times. 

You’ll have knowledge of a relational database, excellent attention to detail and be skilled and comfortable in building good working relationships. 

The role also includes providing excellent service and delivery of supporter care and thanking supporters promptly and appropriately.

• Database support experience (charity database preferred but not essential) 

• Experience of formatting and importing data to a database from external sources to agreed timescales

About you and the role:

This role is an integral part of an ambitious programme to empower and train up the country’s school kitchen workforce through our School Chef Educator Programme, a hybrid course set over 10 weeks, including in-person sessions, webinars and self-guided e-learning on our learning platform. The programme has successfully trained over 130 school chefs nationwide, from London to Yorkshire, the West Midlands to Cornwall. 

Our ultimate goal is that every school in the country has a person leading their kitchen who is a recognised food educator, playing a crucial role in shaping kids’ eating habits for life. 

Your role will be to deliver the School Chef Educator Programme both in-person and online to school kitchen workforces across the country, helping to inspire them to achieve higher levels of knowledge and standards of food quality. 

Supported by the Programme Manager, you will maintain and develop the online learning platform, design new and exciting training materials and learner experiences in order to maintain relevance and attract new customer bases across the school food sector.

• Lead on the organisation and delivery of in-person and online training sessions to enrolled participants of the School Chef Educator Programme at a variety of locations

• Assist in the maintenance of the online database of participants, schools and funder information

• Manage, monitor and report learner progress to the Programme Manager

• Maintain, update and develop relevant training materials to keep our programme up to date

• Work with our evaluation team to monitor and survey the effectiveness of the training programme

• Design and refine the delivery of the core modules within our training programme as well as additional resources to support organisational objectives

• Lead on planning, scheduling  and delivering programmes, in a time efficient and cost effective manor

• Work with our Fundraising Team to keep them up to date with the latest progress on our training programmes, providing qualitative and quantitative evidence to share with charity funders

• Attend monthly ‘Innovation’ days to develop recipes and other resources, and support the Transformation team with delivery when required

• Support and work with the School Engagement Manager to ensure School Chef Educator Programme cohorts are filled

• Assist in the delivery of events outside of the SCE programme, including membership meetings, fundraising events, networking and wider organisational events

Essential skills & experience include:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create clear, engaging, and accessible online learning resources

• Great people skills to quickly build rapport with learners from a wide variety of backgrounds and skill levels - striking a balance between being supportive and challenging 

• Excellent digital skills in order to manage participants' online progress and records

• Excellent presentation skills to deliver engaging in-person and live online training sessions

• Excellent organisation, scheduling and time management skills

• Some experience working in a catering or kitchen environment, ability to assist or lead the culinary training elements of the training programme

• Food Hygiene level 2 or 3 

Desirable skills and experience include:

• Experience in delivering well-structured and impactful in-person and online training sessions to a kitchen workforce or adult learners

• An understanding of the challenges and opportunities to working in school food and school catering work environments

• An understanding of hospitality, especially on how to deliver quality food and service within a budget

Tuition fees:

All trainees will need to pay tuition fees unless you are a salaried trainee - salaried places are limited. Tuition fees are £9,535 for full-time study and £7,145 per year for part-time study. If you are eligible for a student loan in the UK, you can get a student loan to cover these costs, as well as a maintenance grant up to £13,762.

If you want to train as a secondary trainee teacher, you may be able to apply for funding to cover the costs of your tuition fees through a bursary or scholarship, which you would not need to pay back.

1. Application: The first step when applying is to select which of our partners you want to train with. You can do this by clicking the ‘Apply’ button and navigating to our partner map tool to choose your preferred school partner in the region suited to you. You will then be able to register with this partner and complete our short application form. Alternatively, you can follow the same link and just register your interest in our programme for now and we’ll be in touch with more details.
2. Interview: Our friendly team at Ambition Institute will assess your application and if you are eligible, will pass your application to your preferred school partner. You will then be invited to attend an interview. The interview will involve five questions and one task.
3. Offer: If you are successful at the assessment stage you will be provided with a conditional offer. Please note the conditions of the offer are dependent on you completing the relevant pre-programme checks.

The role

NEA has an exciting opportunity for a Training and Education Officer to support with the delivery of our accredited training and qualifications to stakeholders across the United Kingdom as well as develop and deliver our expanding education programme nationwide.

You will work across both the training and education teams to develop and deliver training courses and education workshops to frontline workers, volunteers and young people from a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, voluntary and community groups, and commercial organisations.

Our training courses and workshops cover key issues associated with fuel poverty, fuel debt, affordable warmth, low-carbon technologies and practical energy efficiency advice. You will work alongside the training team to develop, design and deliver these engaging online and face-to-face courses and qualifications.  You will act as an examiner for all NEA qualifications, assist in the development of future assessment-based qualifications; and have the ability to identify new opportunities for training and assessment product development.

You will work closely with the existing education team to enhance the current education provision of the charity; you will develop and deliver education sessions in line with programme and funding needs. Delivery will include both Primary and Secondary school sessions as well as bespoke education sessions for care leavers, young carers, youth offenders and children soon to be attending university or college.

We are accepting applications from across the United Kingdom however, we are particularly interested in hearing from applicants in the Midlands, Yorkshire, and the North-East of England.

What you will need to succeed

You will possess a relevant training or education qualification and have recent, demonstrable experience in delivering adult training and or primary / secondary school sessions. Ideally, you will also bring experience in one or more of the following fields: energy, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues, or housing.

With excellent communication skills and IT skills, you will be adaptable and bring a lot of energy to the team.  You’ll be brimming with ideas and enthusiasm and have a passion to deliver training and education to people from diverse backgrounds and the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

You will be expected to deliver training and education sessions depending on organisational need, as well as occasionally delivery in wider England and Wales. This will require overnight stays and flexibility on the part of the post holder.

The role of Training and Education Officer will be part of the Development and Partnerships Directorate and the postholder will report to NEA’s Training Programme Delivery Manager.

Hybrid working is subject to necessary H&S and GDPR checks. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK.

About you and the role

This role is key to helping us grow and empower our school and chef partners through our Membership. You’ll work closely with the Programme Manager and Procurement Manager to improve the membership offering and build a strong community of schools, chefs, and suppliers.

Your work will be varied, from managing membership administration to building supplier relationships and helping with communication between schools and stakeholders. As the membership grows, you’ll work with the team to help improve the support, networks, and systems available to members. You’ll also help with ensuring suppliers meet safety standards, deliver great produce, and offer reliable service.

In addition, you’ll assist with organising our member events, from planning and logistics to coordinating attendees and making sure everything runs smoothly.

You will be a confident communicator who is happy gathering information from our team, suppliers and school chefs, with an ability to translate data for the continued improvement of the membership. The role will cover everything from basic administration tasks, to visiting schools, helping to create resources and supporting our procurement processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage membership administration, including onboarding new members, staying in touch regularly, coordinating internal support for membership needs, and tracking renewals.

• Support the creation of resources, guides, and training materials for members.

• Assist with the planning and delivery of events, training days, and conferences for members and stakeholders. 

• Help grow the membership by contributing to its development, identifying new partners that align with our mission, and supporting our efforts to expand.

• Support the Procurement Manager with preparing and delivering compliant procurement processes, from drafting documents to reviewing submissions.

• Work alongside the Procurement Manager to build strong relationships with partner chefs, identify new suppliers, and understand produce requirements.

• Manage supplier relationships, including visiting suppliers, checking accreditations, conducting research, and ensuring due diligence.

• Gather, analyse, and report data to support and help grow the membership.

• Provide general administrative support for the membership team, such as organising meetings, booking rooms, and taking minutes.

• Proofread and format documents as required.

• All other tasks as reasonably required - we’re a supportive, collaborative team who are all unafraid to jump in and support each other when needed.

Essential skills & experience:
