We're looking for a compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service located in Newham. No personal care or experience required, just the right values.

£30,784.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

IBIS House provides short term accommodation for people who are medically fit for discharge following a mental health inpatient stay, or who would otherwise not require hospital admission but face other barriers that prevent them from safely returning to the community. These may include housing, living skills, accessing benefits or the community, or other interventions and will be on a person-centred basis. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.

What you'll do:

This is not an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required from time to time and is subject to change in accordance with the needs of Look Ahead.

• Assessing referrals received by the service, within the 4-hour target, and providing rapid response to these. Ensuring all void flats are turn around within 4-24hrs
• Inducting new customers and helping orient them to the community and local area
• Completing/supporting housing referrals as required, supporting customers with budgeting tools and providing support to customers in accessing any benefits or addressing any issues such as benefits.

We are looking for a Strength & Conditioning Coach to lead the programming and delivery of Strength & Conditioning for the TeamUCL High Performance Programme. 

The role is a part time, averaging 14-18 hours per week. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with occasional delivery at the UCL East gym site, and across London for testing and pre-season.

Do you have experience in teaching advanced strength and conditioning techniques? Do you understand how best to programme for elite athletes? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you.

• A Level 3 qualification, or above, in Personal Training/Gym Instruction
• An understanding of the principles of periodisation of training schedules, incorporating all aspects of a strength and conditioning programme, including testing.

You will lead a specialist refuge service providing safe accommodation and support to women and children fleeing domestic abuse. You will ensure a high-quality, trauma-informed service that empowers individuals to rebuild their lives, while promoting an anti-racist, intersectional and strengths-based approach in line with Hestia's values.

You will oversee all aspects of service delivery, including safeguarding, case management, move-on planning and support activities, ensuring women and children receive effective, person-centred support. You will also be responsible for the management of refuge properties, maintaining safe, secure and welcoming environments, and overseeing health and safety, housing management, repairs and voids.

The role includes leading and developing a team of refuge and children's workers, providing supervision, performance management and professional development opportunities to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce. You will also ensure compliance with contractual requirements, manage budgets, monitor performance and use data to drive continuous improvement.

Working closely with partner agencies and local networks, you will represent Hestia in multi-agency settings, building strong relationships with housing, health, social care, education and community organisations to ensure women and children can access the support they need to achieve positive outcomes.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You will have experience leading and supervising teams within a domestic abuse, refuge, housing or supported accommodation setting, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, person-centred services and managing risk for women and children affected by domestic abuse. You will be confident monitoring performance, maintaining high standards and supporting individuals with multiple and complex support needs.

You will have a strong understanding of domestic abuse, safeguarding, housing rights and welfare benefits, including legislation relevant to survivors of domestic abuse. Fluent in at least one South Asian language, you will be able to communicate effectively with women who do not feel confident using English and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive support.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with service users, staff and external partners. You will be resilient, organised and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, crisis environment, managing competing priorities while maintaining a compassionate and empowering approach.

The Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you'll lead the organisation's governance function, providing expert advice to Trustees, the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
