About the role
In this role you will take on day to day responsibly for carrying out core company secretarial activities and related corporate governance responsibilities. You will work closely with the CEO and the Board of Trustees to ensure that Macmillan is held to the highest standards of governance. This will involve delegation for Chief of Staff/Company Secretary (CoSec).
You will lead our engagement with Trustees, developing a strategic forward plan and sequencing Board and Committee activity to achieve the best outcomes for the organisation. With our trustee objectives in mind, you’ll ensure the smooth running of all governance operations, supporting the Executive team and trustees with all meeting-related requirements to enable them to fulfil their roles to the highest standard.
About you
This role requires candidates to have demonstrable experience of operating in a very similar or comparable role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience/qualifications as a Company Secretary and/or experience of working closely with Board and Executives to drive good governance
- Experience of, or a willingness to develop a working knowledge of Companies Act and Charities Act requirements.
- Strong planning and organisation skills including the ability to prioritise and to work quickly and calmly under pressure, producing work to tight deadlines and to a high quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop effective working relationships with people throughout the organisation and externally.

Summary
The Education and Growing Faith department is looking to hire a Senior Programme Officer to support the church schools and the wider education sector. Working in the Operations Team, you'll be directly supporting the Head of Operations with project work and the wider NSE with system and process support. The role will offer the post-holder the opportunity to work across a range of areas such as communications, HR, grant management, reporting and governance. There will be a mix of longer strategic project work, and shorter task-based work.
About the Department/Role
The National Society for Education (NSE) is both an NCI and a Royal-charter charity. It's aims are to support Church schools and the wider education sector by developing leaders, shaping policy and growing faith.
The NSE leads the Church of England's national work in education in partnership with 41 Diocesan Boards of Education and approximately 4,700 Church of England schools. We also support the national education work of the Church in Wales, which includes around 150 schools. Our presence extends to work with community schools and academy trusts, as well as higher and further education through numerous chaplaincies, providing spiritual support and guidance to children and young people, and to adults.
We are a dynamic team, working remotely from our homes around the country. We gather regularly online, and fairly regularly in person.
What you'll be doing
The purpose of this role is to:
- Support the Head of Operations with policy development and reviews.
- Take responsibility for the continued development and management of the online Office Manual.
- Support the Head of Operations with due diligence tasks around new areas of work, taking ownership of discrete projects.
- Project manage areas of work as delegated by the Head of Operations, creating work plans, managing stakeholders, providing project reports regularly.
- Take responsibility for certain HR policy implementation such as designing and rolling out appropriate induction processes.
- Alongside the marketing staff, support the Head of Operations with the management of our internal and external comms.
- Lead the development of Asana (an online project management tool) use across the Operations Team.
- Provide Executive level support to the CEO, including diary management with high profile external stakeholders.
- Manage internal team days and residentials with the Events Manager.
- Work with the Head of Operations to manage the annual planning and reporting cycle.

The Scientific Writing and Publishing Lead will play a key role in supporting researchers in the Global South to communicate their findings effectively and contribute to the global SRM conversation. 1. Support researchers with scientific writing and publishing

What You’ll Do

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising Manager (Grants & Trusts) will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful fundraising strategy focused on trusts, foundations, and statutory grants. They will identify new funding opportunities, build relationships with funders, and write compelling applications that align with St Bride Foundation’s mission and strategic priorities.
This role is crucial in securing core funding, project-specific grants, and capital funding, enabling us to expand our heritage, learning, and community engagement programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Grant & Trust Fundraising
- Develop and implement a revenue and capital fundraising strategy, identifying compelling propositions and packages, and setting and securing agreed targets.

As Training and Consultancy Manager, you will help us achieve our mission for people facing multiple disadvantage by:

I’m looking to speak to a Content Manager who will join a fantastic health charity, and produce high quality, compelling and insight-driven content for use across multiple channels to raise the profile the charity and their impact. This includes video and multimedia content, written stories and blogs as well as leading their podcast production.
Relationship building is key in this role, you will manage the Multimedia Content Producer, work closely with storytellers on commissioned projects and support teams across the entire charity, including Fundraising, Campaigns, Clinical and Service Delivery. You will also manage agencies and freelancers.

Job Summary
Taking a leading role as part of the Individual Giving management team, you play an important part in helping to achieve a step change in the growth of the net voluntary income of St John. The role will work closely across Individual Giving and the wider Fundraising Directorate to develop an evolving supporter acquisition strategy that will aim to recruit new supporters with a focus on digital. The role needs to focus on managing the implementation of the strategy including using insight and data to develop, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate campaigns across a range of channels, with a cutting edge and contemporary approach whilst staying current with the continuously changing legislation and support climate. Responsibilities include working with agencies and suppliers to project manage the full cycle of direct marketing campaigns.
About You
- Significant experience in a third sector direct marketing role
- Track record in managing effective digital campaigns on a national or regional basis
- Experience of using fundraising databases e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
- Extensive experience of using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email social media, direct mail, telemarketing and SMS
- Experience of leading a revenue generating team, including generation of six figure acquisition income
About the Role
- Oversee the supporter acquisition programme, taking responsibility for outstanding donor recruitment with the highest standard of quality and compliance and ensuring a diverse programme mix; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand.
- Develop an annual plan of acquisition activity; monitoring and analysing all campaign results, with ongoing test and learn mechanisms in place to drive continuous improvement and making recommendations for future activity to effectively maximise income and ROI
- Working collaboratively with key fundraising and data teams; lead the development and continuous improvement of new supporter product development
- Strong agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, from building relationships and negotiating to contract and routine performance reviews
- Lead on all KPI tracking, trend analysis and interrogation of results at all levels; including programme optimisation to ensure targets are met and contingency planning as required.
- Work closely with key colleagues across individual giving and in other directorates to ensure they are involved in relevant aspects of acquisition activity

This is an exceptional opportunity to be at the heart of a truly exciting heritage restoration project to restore, renew and open up to new audiences, a nationally-important building in a thriving but economically and socially challenged central London neighbourhood.
In November 2024, St Peter’s Walworth submitted a First-Round application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for Development Phase funding for the “Building Beyond: Soane Reimagined” project. The request was for a First Round Pass of £3.1m and a Development Grant of £438,000. A decision was received by NLHF on 13th March 2025 and pending Permission to Start, the Development Phase is set to run for 18 months, at which point a Delivery Round application will be submitted to activate a Delivery Phase. Staff, a Design Team, a QS and specialist consultants will need to be competitively appointed to complete a list of required documents/studies for the Delivery application. Design development needs to be completed to RIBA Stage 3, planning, Faculty and consents need to be in place and all partnership funding raised or pledged.
Capital works are proposed to the exterior of the Church, respecting its heritage integrity, making it more sustainable and putting it in good order throughout. Similarly inside, where improvements will make the Church more welcoming, improving infrastructure and circulation and accommodating planned activities. Works will take place over the three floors: Crypt Basement, the Ground Floor and the Gallery/First Floor.
A full time Heritage Manager will need to be appointed at the beginning of the 18-month Development Phase. The successful candidate will provide leadership for the Project reporting to Claire Maugham (Chair of the Steering Group Committee) involved in strategic planning, management, execution, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. In order to achieve the goals of St Peter’s Walworth, they will oversee design development to RIBA Stage 3 of “Building Beyond: Soane Reimagined” and oversee the preparation of key NLHF checklist documents, supporting on the roll out of a successful fundraising campaign - with a target to raise just over £1m working with a Fundraising Appeal Board, and a F/T Trusts and Foundations Manager.
The Heritage Manager will be a strategic thinker with an understanding of the planning and delivery of major projects funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). We are also looking for a candidate that will successfully integrate partnerships that are being forged in the local area. They should have a strong background in project management and possess the ability to move adeptly between big picture thinking and day-to-day operations, where it will be necessary, for example, to process their own admin.
The Heritage Manager will have some experience of fundraising, networking and financial management and be comfortable working in a start-up environment, being able to demonstrate experience of extensive community engagement, as well as an understanding of and empathy with the ambitions and vision of the St Peter’s Walworth PCC (Parochial Church Council) and the needs of a Grade 1 listed building.
They will bring an inclusive approach to their work, able to centre and involve the church and local community in the project while integrating the experience of a wide range of volunteer professionals
