The role focuses on providing high-quality support to individuals in mental health crisis. You will assist clients during their stay, helping to reduce immediate distress and develop plans to prevent future crises. This includes working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary mental health services to ensure effective, multi-agency support. All interventions should reflect the organisation's values and commitment to recovery, co-production, and person-centred care, while following established policies and procedures.​

You will have demonstrable experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or dual diagnosis needs, with a strong understanding of a range of mental health conditions, crisis management, and how to communicate with dignity and respect. You will be knowledgeable in relevant mental health legislation, including CPA processes, and committed to recovery-focused approaches. Able to work both independently and as part of a team, you will support and induct peer staff and volunteers while working effectively with statutory services such as the NHS. You will have a good awareness of health and safety and safeguarding responsibilities, alongside strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills to maintain clear and accurate records. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires working across a shift pattern to include weekends.

This role provides compassionate, practical support to clients from the point of referral through their stay at the crisis house, ensuring a smooth induction and meeting their immediate emotional and physical needs. Working closely with clinical partners such as the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Mental Health Liaison Team and the Greenwich Home Treatment Team, you will help individuals reduce their crisis through tailored activities, one‑to‑one sessions, and developing effective safety and recovery plans. You'll motivate clients to understand the causes of their crises, strengthen their social networks, and access education, leisure, or health activities to support long‑term wellbeing. The role also involves supervising volunteers delivering life‑skills activities, liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies, and engaging in ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and team support to provide resilient, high‑quality mental health care in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.

You'll be confident in designing and delivering activities that reduce anxiety, build confidence and self-esteem, and support clients in shaping their own recovery journey. Strong organisational and monitoring skills are essential, including the ability to maintain accurate records, manage case information and complete financial transactions. You will bring resilience, motivation and high standards to your work, even when supporting clients with unpredictable or challenging behaviours. A solid knowledge of relevant legislation—such as welfare reform, the Care Act and housing pathways is important, as is experience engaging clients in assessments and co‑producing safety and support plans. You should be proficient in MS Office and case management systems, understand basic building safety and repairs, and be skilled at building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Help keep our day centre and night shelter for people experiencing homelessness run smoothly and effiiciently. 

About the role 

The Operations Coordinator will play an important role in the smooth running of the day centre and night shelter. Working with the Operations Lead, the post holder will secure a diverse and active cohort of volunteers able to fill all the necessary shifts, ensure the building is well maintained and manage the stock of necessary provisions so that guests are adequately provided for. We particularly welcome those with lived experience of homelessness who are able to bring their ‘expertise through experience’ to the role.

Key responsibilities:

Volunteers

• Work with the Operations Lead in the recruitment, training and onboarding of our volunteers, coordinating any relevant checks as required
• Manage volunteer rotas for all our projects: ensuring all shifts are filled in a timely fashion
• Contribute to our engagement with volunteers to ensure they have the best possible experience. This includes supporting the Operations Lead in managing the volunteer advisory group and the provision of training and development of volunteers
• Ensure the volunteer CRM system is kept up to date with all aspects of volunteer data and contribute ideas and actions to improve the process
• Contribute to regular volunteer communication including volunteer newsletters
• Contribute to reports for trustees and other stakeholders on our volunteers and their contribution to the smooth running of the centre.

Premises

• Timely reporting of any damage to the property, fixtures and fittings and liaising with the local authority and repair teams
• Undertake actions as required to ensure the health and safety of the premises, guests, staff, and volunteers. This includes fire alarm tests and fire drills, emergency lighting tests, acting as a fire warden, security alarm tests, and any other health and safety aspects of the premises.

Logistics and administration

• Undertake the ordering of food, stocking of food donations, and timely communications to volunteer cooks
• Ensure all costs are properly recorded and shared with our bookkeeper
• Undertake other administrative tasks as required.

Organisational engagement

• Contribute to organisational strategic planning and review of progress
• Contribute to the development of grant proposals and reporting as required
• Contribute to the development of relevant organisational policies and procedures
• Develop collaborative working relationships with all staff and volunteers.

About the role

This role will play a vital role in supporting guests using our all year-round Day Centre and Night Shelter. You will work within a casework team working with clients on a 1:1 basis to develop and deliver individual support plans and will work in partnership with local organisations to provide a joined-up response to homelessness. Recognising homelessness is often a result of complex and multiple problems, you will use your communication and organisational skills to work with existing agencies and organisations to identify the best course of action for each individual. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness while developing your skills in communication and fundraising to support the charity's mission. Content Creation 

• Film and edit short-form video content (e.g. Instagram Reels, TikToks, Stories etc) for use across Scotty’s social channels. 

• Capture and edit photography when needed, particularly from in-person events and outreach activity, often on the go. 

• Work proactively to identify and attend opportunities to film team members and events (e.g. corporate talks, family days, community activity). 

• Jump on relevant trends and moments, adapting them to fit the tone, audience, and sensitivity of our cause. 

• Create great content which will educate or entertain our target audiences (within the bereaved military community). 

Editing & Tools

Main Responsibilities:

Office & Administrative Operations

The Head of Communications and Partnerships (for Reconciling Leaders Network) will lead RLN's communications, marketing, and digital engagement strategy, ensuring our message is clear, compelling, and consistent across all channels, extending the reach and engagement of Difference. This role is central to shaping how RLN and Difference are experienced by audiences in the UK and globally.

The successful candidate will bring understanding of the reconciliation and peacebuilding sector, as well as the geo-political and church contexts in which RLN operates. Role Description

This position plays a pivotal part in GovAI's future success — if staff are distracted by bureaucracy or have a poor experience with our internal processes, our impact as an organization suffers. Your role is to help ensure that people operations runs smoothly and efficiently.

You'll execute people operations processes from onboarding through ongoing employee support, making sure that staff have an excellent experience and that all compliance requirements are met. You'll report to the People Ops Manager, and work closely with other members on the team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Executing onboarding and offboarding processes:
  • You'll directly manage onboarding for new staff, visiting researchers, and contractors, ensuring they have everything they need and know how to navigate GovAI effectively.
  • You'll handle offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions when staff depart.
• Managing ongoing people operations workflows:
  • You'll handle benefits administration, reimbursements, and other routine people ops tasks efficiently.
  • You'll track and ensure compliance with US and UK employment law requirements, including training requirements, policy updates, and statutory obligations.
  • You'll maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in our systems.
• Supporting staff and communicating with employees:

Salary and Location

This position is full-time. Our offices are located in London, UK, and we strongly prefer team members to be based here, but are open to individuals who would need to work remotely in exceptional cases. We are able to sponsor UK visas.

The People Ops Associate will be compensated in line with our salary principles. As such, the salary for this role will depend on the successful applicant's experience, but we expect the range to be between £66,000 (~$88,000) and £80,000 (~$108,000) if based in London. In rare cases where salary considerations would prevent a candidate from accepting an offer, there may also be some flexibility in compensation.
