We’re looking for a hands-on General Manager to lead an exciting new social enterprise in Lambeth — combining a busy bike repair workshop with a welcoming community café.

This is a unique opportunity to run and grow a business that not only serves the local community but also supports people with mental health challenges and other barriers to employment to gain skills, confidence and move into work.

Job Purpose

Coordinate delivery of the BELIEVE programme, managing interns and supporting school-based climate action projects. Ensure effective communication across partners, assist with monitoring and evaluation, and maintain strong operational systems. Play a central role in day-to-day coordination, enabling high-quality delivery of youth-led and community-focused climate initiatives.

• Salary:

-£31,495 (C1) - £33,089 (C3) depending on experience, including London weighting

-£28,952 (C1) - £30,417 (C3) depending on experience, elsewhere in the UK

The BELIEVE project

Believe in Climate Action (BELIEVE) is an ambitious and innovative national programme led by the Faith & Belief Forum in partnership with the Cambridge Interfaith Programme. Key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute Smile Train UK communications efforts in alignment with global communications plans and standards to increase awareness of cleft lip and palate and Smile Train.
• Align local Smile Train UK public relations plans and media vendor partnerships with the global PR strategy, ensuring agencies align with Smile Train’s goals, brand voice, and strategic priorities.
• Manage Smile Train UK media outreach to the press to generate awareness and publish timely news through press release development, media pitches, media alerts, op-eds, etc. in alignment with global standards and priorities
• In collaboration with Smile Train headquarters, develop and execute Smile Train UK’s organic social media content and campaigns to enhance engagement, grow reach, and strengthen Smile Train UK’s brand presence across all platforms.
• Effectively manage external Smile Train UK PR and organic social media agencies and ensure all activities are completed on time and within budget 
• Collaborate with the Smile Train HQ Communications Team to develop global communications campaigns and execute localization for Smile Train UK
• Collaborate with the Smile Train HQ Website Team to align UK specific content pages on the Smile Train UK website as required

What is the Worker-led Transition project?

The Worker-led Transition project is a collaboration between NEON and the Trades Union Congress (TUC) that aims to future-proof manufacturing jobs, accelerate climate action and push back against far-right politics in industrial communities.

The TUC estimates that the future of up to 800,000 jobs in the UK (in sectors like chemicals, automotive, steel, ceramics, their supply chains and more) depend on timely planning and investment in industry to meet the needs of a decarbonised economy. Our project supports workers in high-carbon manufacturing industries to plan for a sustainable future for their workplaces (e.g. making green steel or zero-emissions vehicles), builds alignment across the climate movement in support of a worker-led transition, and counters far-right politics in industrial communities by advancing a vision for a socially just climate transition that protects and creates well-paid, unionised jobs in the clean industries of the future. 

Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to support NEON’s work to build organising capacity in UK social movements, with a focus on NEON’s Worker-led Transition project. You will:

• Build support for a worker-led transition in the climate movement and industrial communities, with an emphasis on local and regional coalition and capacity-building in key industrial regions, as well as strengthening relationships with the trade union movement and industrial workers.
• Provide responsive support to movement organisations when they need it most, offering strategic and organising support and advice.

Key Responsibilities

1. Play a key role in the delivery of NEON’s movement building and organising work for the Worker-led Transition project, by strengthening relationships between the climate movement and trade union movements, and training and supporting local groups and community members to organise and campaign in support of a worker-led transition and a sustainable future for communities in key industrial regions:
   • This will involve visits to industrial sites and communities across England and Wales
2. Co-design and deliver events and trainings, where climate activists and trade union organisers and members can build relationships, strategise and plan joint action to deliver a worker-led transition
3. Collaborate with TUC staff to ensure coordinated and effective action in support of a worker-led transition
4. Work with colleagues in the Movement Building Hub to develop strategy, and join up our organising work across programmes
5. Play an active part in the whole NEON team and the Movement Building Hub Team, contributing to organisation-wide plans, including providing facilitation support for other NEON programmes as and when requested.

Who you are

• Proven track record of using organising and movement building approaches to plan and deliver successful campaigns, with at least 3 years of experience. • Ability to design and deliver a complex organising and movement building strategy in a fast moving environment, with sensitivity to movement politics
• Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and work effectively with a range of movement organisations and individuals, including workers and those directly impacted by injustice and oppression
• Experience of delivering trainings and facilitating, including to those at the sharp end of injustice
• Excellent planning skills to ensure projects are designed delivered to a high standard
• Ability to work independently and flexibly in a dynamic organisation
• Experience of delivering trainings and facilitating, including to those at the sharp end of injustice
• Understanding of the climate movement or trade union movement

Mission 44 exists to drive change and build a fairer, more inclusive future for young people around the world. As our work continues to expand, so does our ambition to influence policy, shift power, and drive systemic change by addressing the barriers young people face and advancing evidence-based solutions.

The Senior Manager, Policy & Campaigns will be central to this mission, leading the development of policy positions and research that strengthens Mission 44’s ability to influence decision-makers and shape public discourse.

Mission 44’s impact model brings together strategic investment (through grantmaking) and targeted influence to drive systemic change. The Senior Manager will work closely with grantmaking teams to ensure that insight from funded work is embedded in policy and research, while also feeding learning and evidence back into funding strategies to strengthen decision-making and maximise impact.

The role will lead and manage Mission 44’s policy and research agenda, acting as a key point of contact for partners and building trusted relationships across government, the education and youth sectors, and civil society. The role will lead the development of policy recommendations, commission and translate research into clear, actionable outputs, and collaborate with internal teams and partners to align policy priorities with wider organisational objectives and maximise influence.

The role also plays a critical role in advocacy and external engagement, ensuring Mission 44’s voice is present in key policy moments, supporting strategic campaigns, and connecting research and insight to high-impact opportunities that drive political attention and sustained change at a national and global level.

POLICY

• Lead the development and delivery of Mission 44’s policy strategy, aligned to organisational priorities and focused on driving systemic change for young people
• Develop clear, evidence-based policy positions and recommendations that influence government, civil society, the education sector and key decision-makers
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with policymakers, advisors, think tanks, academics, and sector leaders to strengthen Mission 44’s influence

LGBTQ+ Drug and Alcohol Recovery Worker (Fast Track Cities HIV Reengagement Project)

London Friend’s Antidote service provides high quality drug & alcohol psycho-social treatment and support to LGBTQ+ people utilising harm reduction & abstinence-based methods.  Antidote is a part of London Friend which aims to support and promote health & wellbeing for LGBTQ+ people living in the London area.

We deliver services across London, including in partnership with Local Authority-based drug and alcohol treatment services and sexual health clinics.

Recovery support workers provide support to LGBTQ+ people experiencing difficulties with drug or alcohol use, including supporting those engaged in chemsex, and incorporating HIV prevention initiatives and sexual health support. They will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for their assessment, case planning, review, and ongoing care. They will provide outreach to LGBTQ+ people in community settings including local sexual health clinics.

This post is funded via the London Fast Track Cities Initiative which seeks to end HIV transmission. It is a part of two multi-area, multi-disciplinary projects aiming to reengage people living with HIV who have dropped out of treatment and care. The postholder will work with teams in North West and South London including NHS HIV clinics and a range of voluntary sector stakeholders. The postholder will proactively engage identified clients, mostly gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) where drug alcohol or chemsex have been barriers to sustaining HIV treatment and care.

The postholder will also assist with the delivery of Antidote’s services, including our walk-in clinics and group programmes.

The post-holder will take an active anti-discriminatory, anti-racism and trans-inclusive approach around all areas of work and will be an active member of the broader Antidote and London Friend teams and support with the aims & objectives of the whole service.

This is initially offered as a fixed-term contract to 31st March 2027, although it is anticipated that funding will be provided for two further years. Any extension will be subject to future funding being confirmed.

Due to the nature of the work and in order to provide appropriate access for the client group the role requires regular evening work and occasional weekend working and travel across Greater London.

About the Project

The Children and Young People’s (CYP) Community Counselling service is a new Herts Mind Network service, whose aim is to provide accessible, timely and high quality countywide counselling to local children and young people. Our CYP Community Counselling Service will deliver a blend of face-to-face, online, 1:1 and group counselling to enable young people to obtain impactful therapeutic support for the mental health difficulties they are facing, in a way that suits them.

The objectives of the CYP Community Counselling Service are:

• To support the emotional wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues in Hertfordshire.
• To provide high quality counselling, both face-to-face and online that is tailored to the child or young person and incorporates all facets of their life.

About the Role

The CYP Sessional Counsellor post is integral to the delivery of this new community-based clinical service, delivering needs-led, robust and flexible counselling to local CYPF. The postholder will work clinically within the service, delivering group and/or 1:1 counselling either in-person or online. The CYP Sessional Counsellor will deliver a minimum of one therapeutic group or 3 x 1:1 counselling sessions per week. The clinical work of the postholder may take place in varied formats/locations, meeting the needs, requirements and preferences of CYPF accessing the service. The postholder will keep timely, detailed and accurate records, following organisational processes diligently. They will also ensure any concerns regarding CYPF accessing the service are escalated and managed efficiently, keeping the CYPF at the centre of their decision making.

The successful candidate will have a Level 4 qualification diploma or above in counselling, psychotherapy or arts/play therapy AND current registered/accredited/full/qualified membership of one of the following relevant professional bodies (BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BAAT etc.), competency in working within a recognized theoretical framework or therapeutic modality and a minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a therapeutic or counselling capacity with children, young people and/or families.

You will provide tailored one to one support on fundraising, governance, and organisational development, helping organisations to secure and diversify income, embed good practice, and plan for long term sustainability. 

This role sits at the heart of our mission to support a vibrant and thriving VCSE sector. You will build strong relationships with funders and create opportunities for VCSE organisations and funders to connect, fostering trust and mutual understanding, and improving access to funding opportunities. A strong, connected, and sustainable VCSE sector is essential to building resilient communities and driving lasting social change.

In this role, you will design and deliver high quality training courses with a particular focus on fundraising. This includes developing detailed session plans and clear training overviews for communications, consistently applying RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement) to monitor learners progress and outcomes, and gathering and analysing feedback via evaluation forms to continuously improve training quality and relevance. 

You will build and maintain positive, proactive relationships with existing and potential funders, including using data and insight to identify and engage funders who are currently under investing in Redbridge. Organise and facilitate regular Meet the Funder events and other engagement opportunities to connect VCSE organisations with funders, fostering strong relationships and enhancing access to funding opportunities. 

Working collaboratively with funders and statutory partners, you will champion and co design accessible and inclusive funding practices that reflect the needs and priorities of VCSE organisations and the communities they serve.

Please note that this role can be offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, agreed dependent on candidate’s availability. As an organisation rooted in community, we believe that regular in office presence is important to foster collaboration, connection and team cohesion.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Development will have responsibility for the leadership for innovation, improvement, and development at the Bikeability Trust. The role ensures the Trust fulfils its development commitments under the Active Travel England (ATE) grant agreement to deliver a high-quality national cycle training programmes, and drive forward the Trust’s 2025–2035 strategic ambitions.

This post oversees the development and delivery training guidance, evidence-based pilot projects, digital learning products, and cross sector partnerships, ensuring the Bikeability programme remains effective, future-focused and aligned with Government priorities.
