Financial Accountant

£45,000-£52,000 per annum (dependent on relevant skills, experience and qualification) plus generous benefits

Location – Hybrid working split between the Foundation’s office in London and home. This usually averages at two days in the office per week.

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll be responsible for preparing, analysing, and maintaining financial records and reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll support the month-end and year-end close, oversee payroll and accounts payable, and act as the first point of contact for grant and bank account queries. Your role will be essential in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function, providing expert financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing annual statutory accounts and audit documentation.
• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll processing (Sage 50), including tax and pension calculations.
• Manage accounts payable, including supplier payments and expense reconciliation.
• Maintain key financial controls, including grant payments, payroll, creditors, and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor and improve financial processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Support the Finance Director with cash flow analysis and forecasting.

What are we looking for?

• Qualified or finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with 2-5 years of experience in financial accounting.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes.
• Skilled in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Financial Modelling) and accounting software (preferably NetSuite).
• Experience in payroll processing, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, able to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

The salary band for this role is £45,000-£52,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

Location: Elephant and Castle (around a 7 - 10 minute walk) onsite working, step free access

Salary: £33,200

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday on rota which can vary between 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00, and 14:00 - 22:00. You will also take part in the out of hours on call service for managers. Home working available one day per month, one evening per week, and no bank holiday working. 

About the role

We're seeking a Deputy Service Manager to join our Independent Approved Premises (IAP), commissioned by Criminal Justice Service (IAP) which works with high risk offenders who have left prison. Penrose Drive is a community setting, rather than custodial where residents can go out in the community if they do not have restrictions on their license. Security is therefore flexible in both design and operation. The team work in a multi disciplinary approach, working alongside probation services, job centres, mental health teams, and other community partners. 

You will lead the team by providing line management and leadership support to enable and empower the team to deliver high quality support to our residents. You will ensure a quality service is delivered in line with our contractual requirements, and will encourage the creation of a psychologically informed environment, which provides person centred support. The role includes:

• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
• Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service

The Lead Strategy and Impact Analyst plays a key role in developing practical, evidence-based policies that support effective mission and ministry approaches within the Church of England's Vision and Strategy priority areas.

In this role, you will analyse and synthesise data from evaluations of funded programmes, commissioned research, and wider social trends, building a coherent evidence base to inform both policy and practice.

As a member of the Insights and Engagement sub-team, you will work collaboratively across departments and teams to:

• Support strategic projects through analysis, reporting, and evaluation
• Engage with key stakeholders, fostering communication and knowledge sharing
• Assess the impact of grant-funded projects to ensure meaningful outcomes.

• Convert analysis into actionable insight to inform decision-making.
• Conduct high-quality research to build evidence and support policy development.
• Lead strategy development initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, communication, analysis, reporting, and evaluation.
• Perform statistical modelling and quantitative/qualitative analysis to assess the impact of the SMMI grants programme.

The post holder is required to work 1 day a week from the primary office location - Church House or The Brewhouse, Bishopthorpe Palace.

You will need to be/have:

• Experience in handling complex datasets, projects and applying different strategic modelling approaches.
• Proficient in data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• A strong background in statistical modelling, including regression analysis (R, Python, SPSS).
• The ability to prioritise and structure the evidence base with technical expertise.
• Critical thinking to evaluate risks, develop options, and provide recommendations.
• Experience in staff management and development.
• The ability to perform under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
• Proactive and resilient, demonstrating energy and commitment to meaningful change.
• Expertise in identifying and sharing key learning from grant-funded programmes and projects.
• The ability to present findings persuasively and accurately in both written and spoken formats.

• A salary of £59,248 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

About the role

​The Chief Executive Officer will play a vital role in driving the new NCVO strategic review, as well as our programme of transformational change. They must enable and fulfil NCVO’s vision, mission and strategic goals.

They will manage the reputation of NCVO, both through our relationships with our members, key stakeholders and the wider voluntary sector, and by being a spokesperson for NCVO through multiple face to face and media channels.

In this role they must be able to listen to, understand and reflect the concerns of the voluntary sector, offering thought leadership, while ensuring that NCVO is an efficient and financially sustainable organisation.

We are looking for an experienced money advice caseworker to join our friendly and hard-working team to deliver a high-quality debt advice service for local people in Southwark.

The Equitable Debt Advice Project is an innovative new multi-year project funded by Impact on Urban Health.

This role will provide in-depth debt advice casework and wrap around support for vulnerable local people, with the aim that it will lead to better and more sustainable outcomes. The intensive nature of the casework support provided will be reflected in the targets.

The project aims to target predominantly black and minority ethnic people who are in debt through developing partnerships with local groups and community organisations who serve these communities in Southwark.

You will have:

• Recent and ongoing paid or voluntary experience of managing your own caseload of money advice and income maximisation cases.
• Ability to write detailed up to date case notes, letters and reports as required in plain English.
• Ability to manage a challenging caseload, meet targets and prioritise work in the face of competing demands on your time.
• Ability to respond sensitively to clients from a variety of backgrounds who are under pressure and negotiate with third parties in order to minimise conflict.
