The Principal Regulatory Lawyer will lead responsibility for the provision of legal advice to the wider Trust on all aspects of Regulatory law as it affects the Trust, including health and safety law, environmental and reservoirs regulation.

Location & coverage

The position will be offered on a remote working basis, with a requirement to attend our main hub spaces on occasion for meetings.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead strategic advisor on all aspects of health and safety law and management, providing advice across and at all levels of the organisation (including the Executive and the Board) on legal risk and compliance.
• Advising the Trust on compliance with health and safety law in respect of colleague (employee and volunteer) safety
• Supporting the Senior Environment Lawyer, providing legal advice on all aspects of environmental and reservoirs regulatory compliance, including environmental permits, abstraction licensing, reservoirs, and wildlife protections.
• Managing the Trust’s response to incidents leading to enforcement action by a regulator.
• Providing legal advice on a fit for purpose approach in respect of the management of health and safety risks of  public use of the Trust’s inland waterway network
• Supporting the development of Trust health and safety policy and processes, including risk assessment, reporting and investigations, 
• Advising the Trust’s Health & Safety team on regulatory aspects of health and safety law, assisting in responding to coroners reports, inquests and HSE enquires, notices and enforcement action

We are seeking a proactive, confident, and relationship-driven Partnerships & Growth Officer to contribute to Bridging the Bar’s external income and growth activities. Each year, Bridging the Bar works with a cohort of chambers and organisations who financially support our work through the Partnership Cycle. This cycle runs from April to April, with partners donating a set amount in return for formal recognition and a package of benefits delivered throughout the year. As the cycle progresses, you will be responsible for outreach and renewals, onboarding, benefit delivery, and ongoing relationship management.

As Partnerships & Growth Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Researching and identifying potential partner organisations, and conducting proactive outreach to engage them in the Partnership Cycle

• Renewing existing or recurring partnerships, ensuring positive and long-term relationships

• Leading meetings and negotiations with potential or existing partners to secure onboarding to the current Partnerships Cycle 

• Ensuring the smooth delivery of partnership benefits, including coordinating agreed activities and supporting partners to maximise the value of their engagement 

• Coordinating with programme teams where cross-team collaboration is required to ensure expectations are met in relation to partner benefits

As Partnerships & Growth Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Researching and identifying potential major sponsors, and conducting proactive outreach to engage organisations aligned with our programmes and new initiatives

• Cultivating and renewing major sponsorships, ensuring positive, long-term relationships with key funders

• Developing proposals, presentations, and engagement resources tailored to major funders to support pitches 

• Collaborating with programme teams to ensure cross-team deliverables related to major sponsorships are met effectively and on schedule

• Maintaining accurate tracking of major sponsorships, including records of communications, deliverables, invoicing, and benefit fulfilment

You will contribute to identifying suitable opportunities, preparing strong applications, and supporting the stewardship and reporting required by award bodies and grant funders.

As Partnerships & Growth Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Researching and identifying suitable opportunities that align with Bridging the Bar’s mission, programmes, impact, and funding requirements

• Drafting and preparing high-quality applications, including gathering evidence, impact data, and supporting materials

• Monitoring deadlines and submission requirements to ensure timely, accurate applications

• Assisting with stewardship of award bodies and grant funders, including timely communication and relationship management

Future expansion has the scope to include other opportunities whether identified by the organisation or by you. You will help develop, test, and implement these initiatives as they evolve.

As Partnerships & Growth Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the pilot of the accreditation scheme including; conducting meetings with pilot chambers, co-ordinating with consultants, ensuring deliverable are met, assisting with evaluation and refinement, supporting materials production

• Overseeing the initial stages of our high value individual giving work stream including; identifying potential givers, conducting relevant meetings, co-ordinating with suppliers, dispatching thank you gifts, and supporting materials production and distribution 

• Developing crowd funding and fundraising initiatives including; innovating themes for targeted campaigns, overseeing campaign delivery, co-ordinating with volunteer fundraisers, administering recurring donations, and supporting materials production and distribution 

• Applying a creative, solutions-focused mindset to identifying and shaping future opportunities

Other Duties 

Beyond core responsibilities, you will also support wider organisational activities as needed. This may involve assisting with the BarNav newsletter, representing Bridging the Bar at events, and completing additional tasks that contribute to the charity’s overall effectiveness.

• Overseeing production of the BarNav newsletter including; brainstorming issues themes, co-ordinating contributions from partners, sponsors, staff, and/or candidates, compiling contributions and drafting final issue in Canva, and collaborating with the programmes team to ensure distribution of each issue.

• Providing support to the Head of Operations and programmes where needed including; taking meeting minutes, supporting production of financial reports, and assisting with presenting to the Board 

• Collaborating with operations and programmes departments to support cross-functional delivery

• Representing BTB at BTB hosted events, relevant sector events, award ceremonies, or grant briefings where required

• Maintaining a flexible approach and supporting emerging needs across the charity as they arise

About the Role

Working location: mostly remote work with some travel required. Based in Surrey or Hampshire you will deliver a face-to-face service to clients in their own home or safe meeting place across the Surrey and Hampshire area as well as providing support by Teams, phone, email or other means to suit the service user. We take a person-centred approach so the amount of travel will vary depending on your caseload at the time. You’re in control of your own diary. 

Why this role is important: Every 20 minutes, someone is killed or seriously injured on UK roads. For families affected, the emotional and practical challenges are immense. As a Caseworker, you will provide trauma-informed care to individuals and families suffering from the sudden bereavement or life-altering injury of a loved one. Working mostly remotely, with some home visits to service users, you’ll offer vital emotional and practical support—including helping them access therapeutic resources, financial assistance, and guidance through the complexities of medical and legal processes.

Who we're looking for 

Full training will be provided under the guidance of our dedicated Training Officer. Our induction program has been developed to equip caseworkers with the skills they need to provide high quality support to road victims and covers topics such as being trauma-informed, safeguarding and risk management. We're open to candidates from all sorts of backgrounds, as long as you're a compassionate, self-starter with a background in providing high-quality emotional support and advocacy. Your experience in roles within the NHS, any health and social care, road safety, counselling, lived experience or any type of casework could make you an ideal candidate.

• A full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (travel expenses are reimbursed) 

• Resident in the Surrey or Hapshire area.

Our team

We're looking for a compassionate, self-starting individual who is tenacious, goal-oriented, and target-driven with a make it happen mentality, because they know the impact growing this movement will have on thousands of people's lives.

This role is part of the Partnership Development Team within the Mission & Movement Directorate. Reporting to the Head of Movement Development, you will be responsible for initiating and engaging with senior church leaders and wider networks to partner with CAP, primarily through our life-changing Debt Centre service.

As a Partnership Development Manager, you'll be a key driver of our mission. We're looking for a self-motivated, results-oriented, problem solving individual who can build and nurture relationships across diverse church networks and denominations.

You will be responsible for generating new partnership opportunities, inspiring church leaders and wider networks to engage with CAP's vision and partner with us. You'll need to be an entrepreneurial self-starter with a proven ability to build a robust pipeline and deliver on growth targets, specifically around Debt Centre growth motivated by our desire to help more people out of debt and poverty and see them become followers of Jesus.

Partnership Development Manager Scope

• The team is split between full time and part time PDMs. 
• Significant amount of travel with large regions to cover. 
• This role has no direct reports.
• In line with our expenses policy, all expenses (e.g. mileage costs) are claimed retrospectively via our CAP Expenses system. 

Role:

Accountabilities:

• Responsible for expanding CAP's partnership network across your region alongside the Regional Director and Head of Movement Development, strategically prioritizing and developing relationships with church leaders and networks to establish new partnerships and services. You'll achieve this by collaborating with other teams, proactively networking with Christian organizations and denominational leaders (where appropriate), and representing CAP at various events, all with the goal of growing our influence and opening new services in every community.
• Proactive management of contacts as they progress through the pipeline, working alongside churches to identify if a CAP service supports their church vision, and if appropriate, manage them through the church journey and experience to open a new CAP service.
• To open new Debt Centre Partnerships as laid out in regional Development plans in target areas of deprivation and communities across the region. 
• To open resilience services (Job Clubs, Life skills & Money Coaching) with new and existing church partnerships.
• Alongside Regional Director to identify key areas from across the region to host and organize a targeted number of CAP Spotlight Events per term. These events are designed to gather church leaders around a table to have conversations around opening a multi Church Debt Centre. 
• To proactively build, manage and progress a self generated caseload of churches within your region, through cold calling, face to face meetings and all other appropriate forms of communication. This will include frequent travel across the region to meet with appropriate churches/ leaders.
• Refer potential new Debt Coaches or Churches that might want to work with an existing or expanding Church Partnership to the relevant Area Partnership Managers who are responsible for existing centre growth and sustainability.
• To work with Regional Leaders and Area Partnership Managers to deepen local knowledge and connections in order to deliver new church partnership opportunities. 
• To collaborate across departments where needed to support and engage with Church Events, Talks, Conferences, Festivals, Church Leaders Meetings and other relevant events within your region, working on exhibition stands (when necessary) to help generate enquiries.
• To work with local church teams to ensure appropriate candidates are identified and have a full understanding of the role and responsibilities involved, ensuring CAP¿s selection team receive the appropriate information in a timely manner. 
• To advocate and make introductions where appropriate for Church talks, CCT and fundraising opportunities.
• Where appropriate, to represent Partnership Development in additional projects which improve the delivery and content of CAP's products and services.

The Local Storytelling Exchange (the Exchange) exists to change the conversation about the ‘green transition’ in the UK. We tell the human stories of how everyday people, communities, and places are building fairer, greener futures, especially where narratives around climate action are more contested. Our place-based storytellers use community insights, journalistic expertise, and creative storytelling to shift narratives and humanise the transition.

We are looking for a Digital Innovation Lead to position us at the cutting-edge of digital, locally based storytelling about the climate transition.

Part of this role will be overseeing our approach to social media. But more than that, the successful candidate will bring their know-how and entrepreneurial flair to help us reimagine our digital storytelling on the climate transition.

From TikTok to hyper-local Facebook groups, from AI-powered analysis to multimedia experimentation, you will help the Exchange build a digital game that’s contemporary, sector-leading, ethical and true to both our mission and our USP as locally rooted, authentic, people-led storytellers.

In depth technical expertise (for example, in the mechanics of video creation) is not essential. Knowing where to get it, how to use it - and what great looks like for an organisation like us - is.

The Digital Innovation Lead will deploy audience and platform insight, social listening, and restless creativity. They will ensure our digital storytelling has scale, reach and narrative-shaping impact in its own right, and as a complement and added dimension to our existing, sector-leading print, broadcast and online journalism.

We want someone who can work collaboratively to challenge our assumptions and try new things, while holding on to what makes the Exchange’s storytelling special: our authenticity and people-first approach.

Key responsibilities  

• Shape and deliver a digital innovation strategy that harnesses the Exchange’s USP and place-based focus to impactfully engage audiences, share stories, and measurably influence local narratives.

• Working with the Executive Director and Head of Programmes, secure partnerships and funding to put the strategy into practice – ranging from partnering with local influencers and campaign groups, to national media platforms, data platforms, or creative tech collaborators, and more.

• Lead experimentation with emerging tools – including AI, community insights, social listening tools, multimedia storytelling and audience analytics

The Opportunity

Responsibilities

Working closely with the Warm Welcome Operations Director and wider team your primary responsibility will be to lead on research and impact evaluation to ensure that our strategic approach is driven by evidence. You would take ownership of specific tasks as required, including;

Research:

• Developing a research strategy for the Warm Welcome campaign to help to ensure we can meet our overall campaign strategy.

• Leading on the co-design of research projects to meet the needs of the Warm Welcome campaign and our partners. 

• Developing a research and insights hub for the Warm Welcome team where they can easily access the latest statistics on relevant topics such as poverty and loneliness.

• Supporting any individuals or organisations undertaking research on behalf of the Warm Welcome campaign to ensure it is of a high quality and rigorous standard.

• Accurate and evidence-driven with a passion for ensuring research and impact assessments are completed to a high quality 

• Knowledge of ethical research practices, safeguarding and power dynamics in the research process

• Experience in using a CRM system

Working arrangements 

• Current members of the team are based across the UK, with some in London, Reading, Bristol, Manchester and Northern Ireland. Applicants must be able to travel to Bristol, Reading or London once a month for a Tuesday full team meeting. Given the nature of this role, we would also expect the applicant to carry out a reasonable amount of travel to both projects and partners across the UK.
