About the role
An opportunity to join the busy GIS and Data Team servicing an ambitious and evidence driven conservation organisation. Working with the Senior Biological Data and GIS Officer you will work on multiple conservation projects identifying and creating technical tools to assist with digital data capture and visualisation. The main focus of the role will be to support the Advisory Teams’ field and reporting work (grassland, rainforest and consultancy).
There will be multiple opportunities to work with a large range of projects and staff members, work with cutting edge technology and make a real impact to the operational success of the organisation.
This is a maternity cover.
About you
You will have experience working with ArcGIS technology and researching and developing technical products to assist with streamlined data flow. You will be proficient in creating visualisation outputs, mapping etc. and be comfortable liaising with staff to create the optimum products suitable for their needs.
You will have the ability to troubleshoot problems that may arise from staff and volunteers using technologies, identify solutions and work directly with end users to ensure they are able to utilise successfully.
You will likely be working on multiple projects concurrently so good time management and implementing prioritisation techniques will be key. You will also be a strong team player and willing to support ad hoc Data Team priorities that may arise at short notice.
You will take an active part in Data and Science Team meetings and meet with other staff to discuss needs and offer opinion on best solutions for their needs. You may also on occasion be asked to carry out basic training to assist with newcomers to the GIS field who are interested in starting their own GIS journey.

Education Manager

We are looking for an Education Manager to play a key role in shaping and delivering our Education, Training and Support programme at a pivotal early stage, helping to lay the foundations for long term impact.
This role is for someone with experience developing education programmes and training for diverse audiences at a national or locally significant level, and a strong track record of managing end to end projects. You will develop high quality, evidence led education resources and training, work closely with partners and colleagues across the organisation, and help turn strategic ambition into meaningful, measurable impact for young people and the adults who support them.

Your role
As a Community Manager, you will be responsible for:

You will support operational teams to deliver work in some of the most beautiful locations in Northern Scotland and provide expert advice to other functions within the RSPB.

The RSPB estate is varied and you will be required to advise stakeholders on the safe management of buildings and structures. This will require knowledge of fire and electrical safety, asbestos and legionella management and welfare provisions. A sound understanding of visitor management both indoors and in the wider countryside will also be required.
Teams working on our nature reserves are often involved with significant habitat management, restoration and creation work whether delivering it themselves or utilising contractors. You will be required to advise our workforce on the safe management of contractors and CDM regulations as well as the safe use of machinery and equipment.
You will support a dispersed workforce who may be based at home, one of our properties, a location within the community or in the remote countryside where personal safety and emergency procedures need to be considered.
Alongside your work in North Scotland you will provide remote support to UK wide departments and teams, which may include supporting projects, events and collaborating with your HSE colleagues.
Your workload will include delivering site inspections to check compliance against internal and legal standards, deliver information and training, review incident data, complete investigations and compile and present reports to management teams. You will support the development and review of health & safety procedures and work with teams to support their implementation. You will promote wellbeing initiatives and lead by example and play a key role in implementing the RSPB's environmental management system.
In addition to broad health, safety and environmental knowledge, good interpersonal skills will be key to this role. You will be able to form excellent working relationships and be able to use influence to ensure health, safety and sustainability are taken into account at all stages of work. You will listen to workers, gain their input and understand their challenges.

- You will be a member of IOSH at 'Technician' level or higher.
Additional Information
- This is a permanent role of 37.5 hours per week.
- You will attend multi-day team away days several times a year which could be located anywhere in the UK.
- The successful candidate will be required to regularly visit RSPB sites in the Scottish Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire areas as well as some of the Scottish islands, and will be able to work remotely within this area.
- This will require overnight stays away from home and using public transport where possible.

What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a highly organised and detail focused Data administrator to support national data collections and reporting activity. The role is key to ensuring data is collected, validated and quality assured to a high standard enabling analysts to produce meaningful insights for internal and external stakeholders including government.
Working as part of a remote team, you will manage data requests, support survey activity, and provide administrative support, contributing to the effective delivery of quarterly and ad-hoc reporting.

We have worked in Birmingham for six years and the need and urgency for our work is greater than ever, with live grassroots campaigns across the city mobilising people to come together to save libraries, youth services and social housing. We know that a shared root cause of all of these crises is the city's economic system, and that meaningful change requires bringing people together across different perspectives and positions to build a shared understanding of how that system works and where the opportunities for change lie.
This role leads our work across Birmingham at an exciting moment. We are developing a participatory, community-centred approach to analysing the city's economy, identifying opportunities for change and coordinating alliances to act on them. This means bringing together mixed groups, including grassroots changemakers, researchers, funders and other partners, and facilitating processes that help people make sense of complex information together, find common ground and make decisions about collective priorities. The role requires someone who can hold these processes well: strong facilitation skills, communicating complex ideas accessibly, building trust across groups, sustaining momentum over time and helping diverse coalitions move from analysis to strategy to action.
The Senior Programme Manager will develop and deliver initiatives that support a growing movement for economic justice across the city, with a particular focus on building support and engagement amongst grassroots changemakers and communities experiencing economic injustice. It will manage projects and resources, conduct programme development and delivery, oversee outreach and partnerships, changemaker recruitment and contribute to fundraising, ultimately playing a key role in shaping our regional impact. We are recruiting for a Research Participation Manager to join on a full-time, permanent contract working 35 hours per week. This is a home-based role, with occasional travel required for in-person stakeholder or team meetings.
As Research Participation Manager you will lead the operational delivery and support the strategic development of the Society’s research participation team. You will line manage and develop the Research Participation team and associated staff, overseeing programme performance and reporting, and ensuring all activity aligns with UK clinical research regulations, data governance requirements, and organisational priorities.
