Westway Trust is seeking a dedicated Head of Operations with a minimum of 5 years’ senior leadership or operational management experience in a multi-disciplinary organisation, ideally within a community, charitable, social enterprise or values-led setting.

In this newly created role, you will act as a key advisor, reporting directly into the CEO, and will have responsibility of key areas of the Trust’s operational functions, ensuring the smooth and effective running and delivery of services. You will directly manage the leads of HR, Learning, Communications & Marketing, and Community Engagement, supporting them to deliver high-quality work and develop professionally.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

• Oversight and line management of the HR, Learning, Communications & Marketing, and Community Engagement functions of the Trust.

• Be a key part of the Executive Team, chaired by the CEO.

• Develop and implement planning processes and performance management tools to ensure effective delivery of goals.

• Attend People Committee Meetings and the Board as requested, and contribute to the preparation of meeting papers as necessary in line with agenda requirements. 
• Provide upward reporting and insight to the CEO including written briefings, performance dashboards, and recommendations.
• Attend internal and external meetings, including those that require representing the Trust publicly, in line with agreed strategies and perspectives.
• Monitor, update and ensure compliance with organisational policies and legal requirements (e.g. safeguarding, employment, health & safety, data protection) to build a positive work culture.
• Champion collaboration and integration across departments, ensuring consistent implementation of work priorities that align with community needs and objectives.

• Contribute to organisational development and support the process of communicating and managing change effectively at the Trust in line with agreed policies and frameworks.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes:

• Minimum 5 years’ senior leadership or operational management experience in a multi-disciplinary organisation, ideally within a community, charitable, social enterprise or values-led setting.
• Proven ability to lead, guide and motivate diverse teams and to support the professional growth of those who report to you as a line manager.
• Demonstrable experience of good practice approaches to conflict resolution, working in collaboration with others and encouraging honesty, transparency and open ways of working across teams that benefit the organisation’s effectiveness and efficiency.
• Excellent planning, organisation and performance management skills.
• Excellent writing and reporting skills, including the ability to summarise complex data and issues for decision-makers.
• Experience in researching, developing and managing departmental budgets.
• Ability to analyse information, and formulate practical and reasoned operational plans that can be easily understood and monitored.
• Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills – able to offer both moral and professional support to teams.
• Experience of supporting organisational change, transition, or transformation programmes.
• Experience of embedding inclusive and equitable practices across teams.
• Demonstrable alignment with the Trust’s values and commitment to anti-racism and community power.

Desirable Experience, Skills and Attributes:

• Previous experience overseeing HR or education/community programmes is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with communications/marketing functions is a plus but not essential.
• Degree-level education together with a recognised professional qualification in any of the fields this role covers - or equivalent lived/professional experience – is highly desirable.

The post holder will manage a team of senior IDVAs (2) and IDVAs (4) who provide advocacy services to women experiencing domestic violence and abuse. This role requires the effective management of advocates who will deliver 1:1 advocacy that fulfils the needs of women accessing advocacy services across the boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the Multiagency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The post holder will collaborate with Advance management, external agencies, and key stakeholders to provide consistent and holistic service.

The role

The post holder will involve being responsible for providing timely and relevant administrative support to Scope’s retail teams (Shops, eCommerce and Commercial teams). Duties are to be carried out to a high standard and to timelines that support the demands of the retail team. 

Location: Based at Scope's London office (role can be worked 4 days at head office or 3 days at head office and 1 in a Scope shop and with the option to work from home 1 day a week) 

In this role:

• Offering timely support in a courteous and efficient manner to Retail teams via telephone and email, escalating and resolving any issues as required.   

• Liaising with retail shops and suppliers to ensure products and services are delivered in line with pre-agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and escalating and resolving any issues as required.    

• Using own initiative to proactively resolve minor issues and queries on behalf of the Retail Operations team.   

• Raise and process all purchase orders on the Finance system. To ensure all invoices are correct, possible credits raised, and costs are minimised.

• Complete all required day to day required tasks to a high standard.   

• Work with other teams across Scope to understand any print requirements, collating these and sending them out to shops along with any ad-hoc requests as required.   

• Create reactive communications for all Retail colleagues, including shop, eCommerce and Commercial team colleagues. 

• Provide absence cover for the other Retail Operations Administrative role and the Retail Communications and Engagement Lead role.

• Respond to and complete any tasks as requested by the National Operations Manager.

• Visit shops to meet shop and volunteer colleagues and customers and understand the needs of the Retail team.

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and oversee the strategic delivery of Care4Calais’ operational (direct aid provision) work across all regions. This is quite a newly created role that will play a central part in shaping the charity’s growth, resilience, and day-to-day effectiveness—ensuring our humanitarian aid reaches those who need it most.

The COO will work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, and Trustees, to develop internal systems, guide operational teams, maintain consistency across all projects, and strengthen our digital communications, training, safeguarding, and volunteer engagement. You will also play a key leadership role in fostering innovation, implementing policy, and coordinating multi-regional delivery across the UK and Northern France.

➣ Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Conduct regular visits to UK and French operational sites, meeting with local teams, assessing needs, and providing in-person leadership and support.

- Strong relationship building and communications skills, to a wide variety of audiences, with an interest in some public speaking (don’t worry, we will guide you), both virtually and in person.

Location: This is a homeworking role with travel across the Central West and Midlands and to other locations, including our national offices in London, Birmingham, Warrington, and Belfast.

This role sits in the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team and will be pivotal to the growth of high-value philanthropic income. We’re looking for someone who can deliver personalised donor experiences and programmes, collaborate with colleagues across the organisation, and build strong, long-lasting relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop existing relationships with major donors and philanthropists, maximising their giving.

· With the support of the Senior Philanthropy Manager, develop existing high value relationships giving five figure gifts with individuals through our giving circles, delivering an excellent customer experience at all times

· With the support of the Senior Philanthropy Manager, assist in the management of strategic ultra-high net worth partnerships, such as the Steve Morgan Foundation

· Develop and grow a small portfolio of new philanthropic mid-level support through effective prospecting and donor management

· Support the Senior Philanthropy Manager with the delivery of donor stewardship and cultivation including events and reports, together with our Donor Relations and Event Manager

Person Specification:

· Managing relationships and delivering excellent service to supporters or clients of particular importance to an organisation, ideally within a fundraising context within a charity

· Personally making significant financial asks to supporters or clients

· Providing high quality tailored donor stewardship or customer/client experience

· Developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration with a range of different teams

· Supporting senior colleagues and leaders with income-generating relationship building

· Engaging with a range of audiences, with confidence and gravitas

· Negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver what is needed

· Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting complex information (e.g. medical research) in an accessible and inspiring way
