About the role

We’re seeking a PPIE Manager to lead and strengthen patient involvement across mitochondrial disease research. As an equal partner in the LifeArc Centre for Rare Mitochondrial Diseases, The Lily Foundation leads the programme’s patient and public involvement strategy.

While the initial priority for this role is delivering the PPIE strategy for the LifeArc Centre, as a permanent member of the team, you’ll be responsible for building a sustainable involvement infrastructure that extends across all Lily Foundation research workstreams.

You’ll become a ‘patient expert’ who can bridge the gap between the patient community and the scientific world. You’ll be proactive in upskilling and empowering both patients and researchers, ensuring that lived experience remains the compass for future research.

Key responsibilities

• Lead LifeArc Centre delivery: Work closely with LifeArc leadership and researchers to embed meaningful patient involvement across research activities and work packages.
• Develop the IMPACT network: Grow and support our national patient involvement network, identifying opportunities for families to contribute to research design and documentation.
• Deliver training and capacity building: Develop and deliver training, guidance and workshops to upskill patients, families and researchers in effective PPIE practices.
• Translate and communicate research: Work with our Marketing Team to provide content for the promotion of research news and medical information through social platforms and web-based materials.
• Facilitate focus groups and webinars: Organise patient focus groups to develop a strong knowledge of community needs and lead our quarterly online ‘Zoom Room’ sessions.
• Evaluate and report impact: Measure and share the ‘real world’ impact of PPIE activity to demonstrate its value to LifeArc partners and funders.
• Shape future strategy: Support the development of the UK Mitochondrial Disease Research Institute, ensuring lived experience remains central to the future direction of mitochondrial research.

Essential knowledge and skills

• Professional background: A background in science, nursing or research, with the proven ability to digest complex medical concepts and ‘translate’ them into accessible, jargon-free content.
• PPIE expertise: A deep understanding of Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement best practices and the different stages of the research cycle.
• Training and facilitation: Confidence in designing and delivering workshops or capacity-building activities for audiences ranging from families to senior researchers.
• Exceptional communication: Confidence in building relationships with families, senior academic leads and industry partners.
• Organisational drive: High levels of organisation and the ability to work independently to manage multiple priorities within a ‘small but mighty’ remote team.

Essential experience

• Direct engagement: Substantial experience working directly with patients, families or the public within a charity, research or healthcare setting.
• Delivering PPIE: A proven track record of delivering involvement activities that have influenced research or service design.
• Impact reporting: Experience in measuring and demonstrating the ‘real world’ value of patient engagement to stakeholders and funders.

Our UK office is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Data & Insights Officer to lead on the day-to-day maintenance and utilisation of our data management platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365, with a particular focus on the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) module. The Senior Data & Insights Officer will be a key point of contact for colleagues across the organisation, playing an instrumental role in supporting how we gather, manage and utilise data at Amref UK. They will be critical in providing expertise and establishing new ways of working across key Amref UK teams, including Supporter Engagement, Programmes & Strategic Partnerships, Finance, Operations and Senior Management.  The postholder will be the organisational expert in Microsoft Dynamics working with senior leaders, Amref HQ ICT, Amref’s global Fundraising Development team (F&D) and third-party vendors to develop, implement and integrate processes and reporting tools that aid analysis and insight.  They will work with HQ ICT to deliver improved functionality and system upgrades while maintaining data integrity and compliance requirements.  Experience in relational database design and familiarity with marketing tools such as Google Analytics would also be an advantage.

Who We Are

The 999 Club has stood on the corner of Deptford Broadway for more than 30 years, working with and supporting the local community. Our focus now is on people who are street homeless, rough sleeping or unhoused and those who have no recourse to public funds.

The Gateway is open five days a week and provides a welcoming, safe and friendly space where our members can spend time away from their usual situation and sort out practicalities like getting laundry done, taking a shower, charging their phone and having something to eat.

The Team

Exactly as it says on the tin, the Essential Services Team was set up to deliver essential services and we’re really excited to be restructuring the team. Whilst our Intervention Team works with members to figure out their next steps around housing etc. the Essential Services Team work to make sure that everything is in place we all get to spend time in clean, safe, friendly surroundings.

Working alongside an amazing team of volunteers the Essential Services Team provide it all, hospitality to housekeeping and everything in between.  From welcoming members at reception to helping out with laundry, to making sure the place is clean and comfortable and well maintained, that we have enough of everything, that all the admin is taken care of and and that there’s something nutritious for lunch, the Essential Services Team are at the centre of everything we do – effectively, they are the engine that keeps the 999 Club running.

Job Purpose

• Lead growth of corporate fundraising and corporate partnerships, guided by Butterfly Conservation’s Corporate Fundraising Plan.
• Identify, cultivate, secure and deliver corporate partnerships applying a coordinated and proactive approach.
• Ensure effective delivery within the corporate fundraising stream and appropriate corporate stewardship, with the support of the Corporate Fundraising Officer.

Main Responsibilities

1. Planning, and continually reviewing, the Corporate Fundraising Team work programme and working with the Corporate Fundraising Officer in executing it so as to deliver impact.
2. Identifying, building and maintaining a strong, diverse pipeline of corporate prospects.
3. Implementing a proactive acquisition approach to securing new corporate support that delivers financial and/or social value gains for our charity, including the negotiation and drawing up of partnership agreements.
4. Personally managing and stewarding a portfolio of corporate relationships, providing an outstanding supporter experience which seeks to sustain and grow corporates’ support.
5. Providing corporate fundraising advice, materials and updates to colleagues/Branches and working with the Head of Grant, Trust & Corporate Fundraising to deliver training to staff, the Senior Leadership Team, Council of Trustees and   BC Trading Company Board, as required.

10. Ensuring the effective promotion and/or dissemination of Butterfly Conservation’s ‘Corporate Supporters Pack’ and ‘Work for Good’ platform (managed for lower level donations), providing clarification to corporates and/or identifying potential for uplift, to then pursue, as necessary.
11. Line managing and supporting the Corporate Fundraising Officer, driving performance and innovation through a solution focused approach and ensuring appropriate prioritisation of workload.
12. Maintaining and updating records to keep track of corporate prospects and corporate approaches, communications and agreements, in files, spreadsheets and on the CRM so that the are a reliable and trusted source of information.

You will assure health and safety performance across more than 100 buildings ranging in age from the 1780’s to the current day, spanning five central London campuses, including facilities embedded within major NHS Trusts and a substantial student residences portfolio.

This is a senior individual contributor role with dual reporting to the Executive Director and Senior Director of Strategy & Performance. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong experience in finance business partnering/ financial analysis. Comfortable with working outside of BAU, you will have excellent Excel and stakeholder management skills. Previous experience of working in the Not-for-Profit sector on transformation projects would be an advantage but not essential.

My client is open to both full and part time hours, with a 50:50 split on hybrid working. This opportunity has been assessed as outside of IR35.

£36,000 to £38,000 per annum. 35 hrs per week.

The impact you will have
As the Events and Community Fundraising Manager you will lead the delivery of events and community activity that engages people to raise vital funds for Missing People. Missing People relies on support from individual members of the public who take on an event or activity to raise awareness and vital funds for missing people and the charity. This role will lead the development, delivery and growth of this income area through engagement and stewardship of these valued supporters. This includes developing a balanced portfolio of events and community activity and working directly with the community of people with experience of the issue of missing.
 
You will use your experience and enthusiasm to inspire individuals and groups to support the charity. You will drive our events portfolio forwards, using your rapport skills to quickly establish relationships with providers, internal teams and supporters, and your agile, ambitious approach will allow us to grab hold of the best possible opportunities.
 
You will lead a team to deliver an exciting Events and Community offering – an inspiring programme throughout the year including ‘Light The Way’ and other challenges which you can read about on our Events page, as well as our Community fundraising efforts – such as engaging volunteers to hold collections at G4 concerts throughout December.
 
About You
You will need to have:

• Significant experience in a challenge events fundraising role, successfully delivering against income targets within agreed deadlines;
• Experience of developing and monitoring the implementation of fundraising strategies, budgets and operational plans;
• Proven experience of growing an engaged supporter or customer base;
• Experience of line management or managing the activities of staff or volunteers;
• Good knowledge of community and events products used by charities to engage supporters and raise funds;
• Legal right to work in the UK.

We are looking for a committed and experienced Senior Accountant to join our vibrant school community at Arnold House.

You will work principally at the Loudoun Road site, and report to the Director of Finance & Resources. This is a stand-alone role.

We are seeking a candidate with an accountancy qualification who has excellent attention to detail, an analytical mind with management accounting experience and a desire to work in an education setting.

The successful candidate is required to work throughout the calendar and academic year to support the school’s delivery of education.

The school has significant responsibilities to the Charity Commission and a yearly statutory audit. The Senior Accountant will support the Director of Finance & Resources in fulfilling these responsibilities.

We have recently introduced i-finance accountancy package, and experience of working with this would be beneficial.
