This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director-level communications professional with a strong background in knowledge translation of technical information to different audiences internationally. 

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Director of Communications & Knowledge Translation will provide strategic leadership for all Health Care Without Harm Europe’s Communications and KT activities. The Director will lead exciting new digital KT initiatives in line with our new Strategy and as a key part of a small, high-performing team working at the timely intersection of health and the environment. S/he will lead and support all of the organisation’s engagement and communication with target audiences, so that they achieve maximum impact on European healthcare policy and practice in support of the organisation’s mission. 

The post is for an initial 12-month period, at a critical time of development for the organisation’s communications and KT activities. We intend to make the post permanent thereafter, subject to receiving sufficient funding, and we have high hopes that this will be the case.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Service based across Newham.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11320 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Newham. However, regular travel will be required as part of this role (will include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 18 hours per week

Salary: Circa £14,100 - per annum (FTE circa £27,435 per annum) (inner London weighting £2,031.42 per annum or outer London weighting £1,170 per annum may be applied in accordance with where you live)

Contract: This is a fixed term contract until 31 March 2026. Our services are contracted we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2026. While continued funding beyond this date cannot be guaranteed, we have maintained regular contracts in this area for many years.’

The Role

We are  looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Newham Team in London. Reporting to Service Delivery Coach.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Organise and facilitate effective service communication for the benefit of stroke survivors and carers in understanding and achieving their goals.
• Ensure that timely, confidential and accurate records are kept on our CRM data base and all data is in line with our retention policy and GDPR compliant.
• Develop and manage service volunteers to support service delivery for stroke survivors and carers as required.

About You

You will have experience in:

• Providing person centred support to empower vulnerable people or people with a disability or long-term health condition and their carers
• Nurturing emotional resilience needed to handle a variety of calls, potentially dealing with complex and challenging situations whilst working in your own home
• Effective listening with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse audience including anyone experiencing communication difficulties via a combination of face-to-face visits or meetings, telephone calls, emails or letters, and digital methods (such as video calls)

CONTEXT OF THIS ROLE:

At Purposeful, communications is political. It is how we amplify girls’ voices, sharpen feminist narratives, and push back against regressive agendas. The Communications Director will sit at the heart of this work - shaping and delivering a bold communications strategy aligned with Purposeful’s vision, mission, and growth.

This role leads the stewardship of Purposeful’s voice, visual identity, and storytelling practice, ensuring that everything we produce - whether op-eds, reports, campaigns, or digital content - carries our politics with clarity and conviction. The Communications Director will work closely with the Co-CEOs and across all Purposeful teams, including Advocacy, grant-making, Learning & Insights, Programmes, and Resource Mobilisation, to amplify girls’ organising, showcase our impact, and influence the broader philanthropic and activist ecosystem.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring a deep commitment to feminist movements, an instinct for storytelling as political practice, and a proven track record of positioning organisations on the global stage.

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Communications Strategy & Leadership

• Lead on delivery and implementation of a new communications strategy, building on 2025 planning foundations.

• Work closely with the Co-CEOs and director team to horizon scan and adapt strategy in response to organisational vision and external landscape.

• Provide leadership to a small team of staff and consultants (designers, digital specialists, artists) and work collaboratively with partner communications leads on joint campaigns and initiatives.

• Meticulously manage and forecast the communications and editorial budget, ensuring value for money and strong planning.

• Track and analyse content performance, using insights to refine reach and engagement.

2. Storytelling & Content Development

• Oversee the creation of compelling storytelling content that highlights Purposeful’s impact, amplifies girls’ and young feminists’ voices, and influences funders.

• Lead editorial planning and content workflows, balancing evergreen storytelling with crisis-response or time-sensitive outputs.

• Oversee production and capture of content from live and digital events (webinars, IG Lives, panels, etc.).

• Coordinate brand refresh projects, including a website refresh, and strengthen Purposeful’s digital visibility with a focus on graphic-led content across social platforms.

3. Writing & Editorial Oversight

• Review and edit all external content to ensure quality, editorial standard, and alignment with Purposeful’s voice and values.

• Write op-eds, blogs, social media posts, campaign messaging, press materials, and executive summaries.

• Collaborate with colleagues in Learning & Insights to integrate data into storytelling and publications.

• Edit and manage the production of publications and reports, commissioning artists and graphic designers as needed.

• Provide editorial oversight for media projects, including radio, film, and animation.

4. Media Engagement & Positioning

• Cultivate strong relationships with international, regional, and local media outlets.

• Proactively position Purposeful in global and regional conversations, ensuring girls’ and feminist movements’ voices are at the centre.

• Lead on preparing and supporting spokespersons, including Co-CEOs and external partners, for media engagement.

• Design and execute media strategies for key campaigns, events, and publications.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Experience & Skills

• Proven experience developing and delivering communications strategies aligned with organisational goals.

• Demonstrated leadership in managing small teams and consultants.

• Strong hands-on skills in digital communication tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe, basic video editing).

• Extensive experience in content planning and editorial workflows.

• Strong published track record (op-eds, blogs, media features) and evidence of positioning organisations in the public spotlight.

About the team 

Trusts and Foundations (T&F) is part of a High Value Partnerships team that sits within an Income Generation Directorate raising £30 million to support Shelter’s work. About £3 million of that is raised by the Trusts team. T&F is currently a team of nine: eight fundraisers – two in Scotland, one in Bristol and the rest in London, plus a Grant Manager supporting role. Half of the England-based team focus more on new business, while the other half manage and maximise our ongoing relationships.

About the roles 

You’ll help delivery our strategy by generating income from mid to high level trusts and foundations. Raising money for our core day-to-day activities, as well as for new projects, you’ll bring our income generation goals to life. You’ll work alongside a Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager and manage a personal portfolio of funders and projects, and you’ll be fully supported by an experienced fundraising team and senior managers in front line services.

The fixed-term role includes line management responsibility for the Trusts Executive, and is focused on maximising existing funder relationships. The permanent role has no line reports and is more focused on securing income from cold and new funders.

About you

You are confident in your ability to take on a portfolio of new funders at different stages of engagement and, through research, effective communication and meeting strategies, secure income. A flair for planning, writing and project-managing new large-scale, multi-year applications to institutional funders is important too. You will be highly collaborative and able to work with colleagues across our High Value Partnerships team in order to maximise income opportunities.

We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. About your team 

You’ll be joining our brilliant South Region team, which covers our largest region from Kent to Cornwall, offering numerous opportunities to contribute your expertise in a variety of contexts, from urban and suburban to coastal and rural settings. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides, we’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years. 

In the south region we have the highest density of Christian holidays and festivals, with events that we organise and run directly and a variety of festival and missions that we support and partner with. You’ll have a fantastic opportunity each summer to get hands on engaged in these mission and festivals throughout the year. 

Our South Region also includes our vibrant capital, one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse cities in the world, with over 300 languages spoken. With many like-minded missional organisations having a footprint in and around the capital, and all of the Christian movements and denominations represented here, London holds key strategic value and will be the focus of your ministry activities. The Operations Coordinator provides essential administrative, financial, and scheduling support across RAP’s international operations. This position is responsible for maintaining contract and vendor documentation, supporting finance and accounting workflows, processing data and invoices, coordinating executive calendars, and assisting with general systems administration, including IT-related tasks. Reporting to the Director, Operations, the coordinator will work closely with the Finance, Development, People, and Executive teams to ensure internal systems and processes run smoothly and efficiently. The role requires strong attention to detail, high reliability, and the ability to manage multiple operational tasks in a distributed, multicultural environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Contracts & Administrative Coordination

• Maintain and improve global contract databases for vendors, consultants, and partner organizations, ensuring templates, amendments, and signature processes are consistent and well-documented.
• Track deadlines, deliverables, and grants & contract renewal dates; flag follow-ups and support internal reviews.
• Assist with compliance documentation and liaise with legal or People Operations for contract-related questions.
