We are looking for a non-judgmental, compassionate individual who would fit into our passionate team.

Purpose of the Role

Manage and support a caseload of volunteers to empower vulnerable families in giving their children the best start in life, occasionally providing direct support.  Contribute to volunteer recruitment, training, development, and the effective day-to-day operation of the organisation

Key Responsibilities. As a HSH Co-ordinator you will:

• Carry out initial home-visits and support families to set and monitor goals
• Match volunteers with families according to need and capacity
• Assess the suitability and complexity of referrals, liaise with referrers for additional information, and support onward referrals
• Supervise an appropriate caseload of volunteers and enable them to support families
• Monitor safeguarding concerns and liaise with the Operations Manager/Director as needed
• Contribute to the delivery of the Volunteer Preparation Courses
• Contribute to recruiting, selecting and preparing suitable volunteers
• Support the evaluation of the impact of HSH’s volunteering programme and family support
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key health partners, including those from Parent Infant Mental Health Teams, Midwifery, IAPT, Perinatal Teams, Health Visiting and other groups

About this key role

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Trusts and Philanthropy fundraiser, to manage a portfolio of high level funders, whose support is vital to the work of Become.

Working closely with the Trusts and Philanthropy Manager and the wider Fundraising team, the postholder will research potential funders, write compelling grant applications, and build strong relationships with funders to ensure continued and increased support. They will have a strong track record of securing five/six-figure funding from trusts and foundations, and other giving vehicles, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Location

We are currently hybrid working: our team primarily works from home. In-person attendance at some meetings will be expected approximately once or twice every month, usually at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London. For non-London based staff we will consider hot-desking options near you, if required. Additionally, as a charity providing services to England Become covers the cost of travel within England for essential in-person meetings. We are open to conversations about flexible working arrangements.

Board Membership  

• Monitor Trustee terms and advise on succession planning. 

• Support election and appointment processes. 

• Maintain records of Trustee interests and training. 

• Liaise with the HR department to ensure that DBS and other checks are conducted.

Information Management  

• Maintain accurate records of Trustee committees and their correspondence.

• Ensure that approved documents are stored and published appropriately. 

• Update and develop the Trustee handbook.

Relationships and Development 

• Build professional relationships with Trustee and College Leaders, 

• Co-ordinate governance training and development. 

• Stay updated on charity/education governance legislation and best practices.

About the role

The Administration and Facilities Assistant role at Crisis Skylight Croydon is varied and fulfilling. As the Administration and Facilities Assistant, you will assist with the day-to-day administrative tasks, health and safety and facilities management of a busy Skylight centre ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the office and member areas. You will assist with purchasing, stock control and deliveries as well as liaising with contractors. You will use internal systems to record client information. You will also help promote the Skylight internally and externally by collaborating with others and producing impactful designs.

About you

• In this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and be competent using Microsoft applications including Excel.
• You will have experience of supporting a team in an administrative role with proven organisational skills.
• You will have excellent interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships within the team.
• You will be confident in financial matters such as administering petty cash and raising purchase orders.
• You will have an interest in facilities management and health and safety.
• You will have the ability to undertake manual handling tasks and to support with processing and storing deliveries.
