The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,000 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, support the personal and professional development of our members and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.

Main Purpose

The RCOphth provides education, support and professional development for ophthalmologists of all grades and across all of their roles. It also contributes to education in eye care and ophthalmology for undergraduate medical students and practitioners in other medical specialties and ophthalmic professions. The RCOphth aims for all its audiences to be able to access the ophthalmology education they need, when and where they want it, and in the form most appropriate for the learner and the learning material.

This role is an exciting new opportunity for you to play a leading part in the development and delivery of our digital learning provision.

You will work closely with colleagues and editors/co-editors to ensure that this membership benefit is valued by the membership and external audiences and their experience when using the platform is optimised.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of the INSPIRE digital learning platform (Brightspace)
• Work with Editors, Co-Editors, Instructors and Contributors on the production of high-quality digital learning materials in terms of content, level and educational rigour
• Increase learner engagement and satisfaction
• Develop mechanism to sell INSPIRE to non-members in the UK and the overseas market
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the RCOphth Digital Learning strategy

INSPIRE Platform

• Provide a skilled helpdesk service to users. This can involve talking users through how to use the platform, and sometimes dealing with difficult technical enquiries that require explanations to non-technical users.
• Manage the progression of materials through the necessary stages of creation and development and ensuring that materials are uploaded onto INSPIRE in a timely manner.
• Develop the functionality of the platform and managing its interaction with other software such as the membership database and collection of payments

Editors/Co-Editors/Instructors/Contributors

• Provide support to Editors and Co-Editors in loading resources onto the INSPIRE platform and integrating them to create learning materials.  This will entail formatting and editing text, images and video for house style and grammar whilst maintaining medical/scientific accuracy.
• Checking consent and clearing copyright/licensing permissions for materials used in INSPIRE.
• Organising Editor and Co-Editor meetings and workshops.
• Create mechanisms to obtain user feedback on learning materials and evaluate the platform to direct change.

Communications/Liaison

• Liaise with internal colleagues in the Department, the Communications Team and external stakeholders in relation to the development and promotion of online resources.
• Liaising with College staff from other departments about current and future projects that require support from INSPIRE or will generate learning materials for the platform.
• Liaise with those organising and delivering courses and webinars to record presentations, select and upload materials, and create specific learning pathways for delegates.
• Work with the Education Co-ordinator to design and produce promotional materials for resources.
• Work with e-Learning for Health (e-LfH) on the materials that the College has on that platform and integrate materials onto INSPIRE. This includes attending the Content Provider Group meetings of which this College is a member as well as other meetings as appropriate.
• Create, recruit to and support a Digital Learning Editorial Board which will be responsible, with other stakeholders, for ensuring materials are up-to-date and quality assured for 100% accuracy.  Once in place, be the staff contact responsible for the effective running of the Board and relevant processes.
• Be a member of and contribute to the INSPIRE Group (operational group of largely staff) and Digital Learning Subcommittee (members and staff).
• Undertake any other duties related to the job purpose which may be necessary in the work of the team.

Job Summary

To drive development of CEM’s fundraising strategy and oversee its implementation. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Identifying the most fruitful new avenues of funding from a range of Christian cultures, including individual donors, trusts and grant-making bodies
• Identifying new fundraising methods, including digital campaigns and social media outreach, to broaden and diversify our donor base

Person Specification

We’re looking for someone who aligns with the values and mission of iOi and brings a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on operational experience. This role may suit someone with a portfolio career, working across charity, consultancy, or social enterprise sectors.

• Proven experience managing the finances of an SME (charity or commercial), including reporting and advising senior leadership.
• Track record in income generation and developing enterprise strategies.
• Strong background in business planning, modelling and commercial viability assessment.
• Experience of managing organisational risk, contracts and supplier relationships.
• Skilled at working with Boards, Trustees, or Non-Executive Directors.
• Able to operate comfortably at both strategic and operational levels.
• Knowledge of charity financial management and regulatory reporting.
• Understanding of commercial trading within a charitable context.
• Experience in scaling or supporting start-up or early-stage organisations.

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our vibrant and friendly finance team.  You will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the transactional processing of all expenditure and payments, making sure that the correct authorisations have been provided. This role will be the key point of contact for non-finance staff across departments with regards to purchase order and invoice queries. 

The role is a full time and fixed term contract for 12 months. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 40/60 basis (Minimum 40% working from the office). 

Do you have relevant experience in an Accounts Payable role with a strong understanding of financial ledgers and control accounts? Have you dealt with processing high volume of invoices and using an automated Purchase Order system? if the answer is yes, then we would like you to join our finance team.

Our ideal candidate will have an ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritise tasks in a high-volume environment. They will need to have strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong IT skills, especially Excel and Microsoft Office. The role holder will need to have the ability to demonstrate a positive attitude to self-development, willingness to learn in role and be able to identify own training needs.

We are currently looking for dedicated Immigration Advisers (IAA Level 2) to join our growing team to provide immigration advice and casework to destitute migrants. We have an exciting opportunity for a role based within our London MARAC Team, that requires knowledge and experience working within the domestic abuse sector, as well as strong administrative, interpersonal and stakeholder liaison skills.

Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences are regular meetings where information is shared by a variety of key organisations both statutory and non-statutory on the highest risk domestic abuse cases in order to create safety/action plans that help reduce and manage risk to victim/ survivors.

This position will require you to work closely with the MARAC Head of Service, MARAC Team, MARAC Chair and partner agencies to ensure referral thresholds are met, meetings are well organised, effectively coordinated, and accurate recordings of the meetings are taken and distributed following planned delivery requirements.

We are looking for a highly organised individual with the passion to make a difference, you will need proficient I.T. skills particularly in Word, Excel and case recording data base systems.

The team:
The Visitor and Audience Operations (VAO) department is at the heart of delivering exceptional experiences for all who visit Shakespeare’s Globe. Responsible for front-facing operations and visitor experience across the site, the department encompasses our visitor attraction offer; our tours and exhibition space delivered by Guides and Visitor Operations Assistants; a large Volunteer Steward team operating across our two performance spaces, and event support.
