North Yorkshire Citizens Advice & Law Centre provides free, confidential and impartial advice on issues such as money, benefits, housing and employment, helping around 25,000 people each year to find a way forward. We are looking for an experienced Funding Bid Writer to join our collaborative team, helping to secure the funding that enables these vital services to continue and grow. You will identify funding opportunities, including grants from charitable trusts and foundations and competitive tendering processes, build strong relationships with funders and write compelling applications and bids that clearly communicate the impact of our work and the needs of the people we support.

This role requires someone who can understand complex information and turn it into clear, persuasive proposals and tenders, while working effectively with colleagues across the organisation. You will be confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines, maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.

This role can be performed remotely from anywhere within the UK. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can choose a hybrid working arrangement or be based in any of our North Yorkshire offices.

The Senior Fundraising Manager is responsible for delivering Brightside’s fundraising activity with a core focus on grants from trusts and foundations, and major donors. Reporting to and working closely with the CEO, the postholder will forge new relationships with major donors and manage our grant applications to support Brightside to achieve its fundraising targets. The postholder will deliver high quality stewardship across our major donor relationships and act as the key point of contact for all grant activity, working closely with the delivery teams to support funder relationship management and reporting.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to develop clear cases for support for potential funding projects, as well as managing our approach to individual giving and increasing regular donations. The role will involve working closely with the CEO and the trustees, who will provide warm introductions to their networks of potential major donors and support in their stewardship.

Job Purpose

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the post holder will be responsible for leading on quality assurance and compliance across the organisation, including managing and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standard and GDPR, allowing Ygam to achieve its strategic objectives effectively and efficiently. The role will also have responsibility for certification of programmes with CPD.

Key Tasks

• Lead and encourage a culture of continual improvement across the organisation.

The Programme Resource and Content Assistant supports the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of Ygam’s programme resources and content.

The role has responsibility for the coordination and delivery of the Ygam Alumni newsletter, contributes to the design and updating of programme resources, and supports the implementation of changes arising from programme reviews, evaluation and feedback. About the opportunity

As Head of Corporate Planning, you'll lead the process by which Alzheimer's Society translates its strategy into a clear, deliverable plan and tracks the difference we are making. In a role where every decision shapes how we use our resources to end the devastation of dementia, you'll provide the leadership team with the insight they need to focus on what matters most and to keep adjusting course as the world around us changes.

You'll bring people together from across the organisation, building trusted relationships that make corporate planning a genuinely shared endeavour rather than a Finance exercise. Through workshops, partnership and powerful reporting, you'll help leaders at every level understand how their work connects to the corporate plan, where progress is being made, and where we need to challenge ourselves to do more.

You'll be part of our Finance and Assurance directorate, where our vision is to be the Society's single point of truth. Working closely with other Finance department heads, you'll help to deliver an accountable, efficient and improvement-driven approach to the Society's financial and corporate strategy, providing the leadership team with the information they need to run the organisation well.

Leading our Corporate Planning team, you'll set the standard for accessible, timely and accurate corporate planning, while continuously improving the way we plan across the Society and the way we measure success. You'll act as a vital source of insight on what is working across the Society, what might need to change, and where the next opportunity to increase our impact for people affected by dementia might lie.

About you
You're an experienced corporate planning or strategy professional who understands that good planning is about people as much as process. You're as comfortable in an Executive workshop as you are in the detail, and you know how to combine analytical rigour with clear communication, constructive challenge and a genuine interest in helping others see the bigger picture.

You'll have:

- An in-depth understanding and significant experience of planning a large organisation's activity in a way that effectively supports delivery and the tracking of performance, driving continuous improvement.
- A track record of providing insightful, accessible reporting to drive decision-making at senior levels, including with Executive and Board audiences.
- The confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels in planning and progress tracking, leading them through it with clarity and credibility.

Purpose of the Role: 

Voice 21 is a rapidly growing national education charity, with a bold new strategy to 2030, and ambitious plans to double fundraised income over this strategic period. We believe there is significant potential for the corporate sector to engage with our work and support our mission to transform education. We are seeking an experienced corporate fundraiser to build our burgeoning programme, unlock exciting new opportunities for support and lead on developing new voluntary income from corporate partnerships. You will champion creative, insight-driven new business development and account management, ensuring partnerships are meaningful, mutually beneficial and aligned with our mission. This role will encompass research and qualification, engagement of potential corporate partners, developing propositions and proposals, pitching and securing new partners and relationship building and stewardship. Key Responsibility of the Role:

What you will bring: 

• Proven experience in setting up a corporate fundraising programme, with a track record of securing five-figure+ relationships and raising income to target.

• Knowledge and/or experience of a range of corporate income streams, from strategic partnerships and sponsorships, to cause-related marketing, employee engagement, gifts in kind, etc.

• Strong commercial awareness, with ability to identify and prioritise high-value opportunities. Proactive and assertive, with the ability to recognise and act on new opportunities and the tenacity to secure meetings. 

• Experience of building a portfolio of corporate sector prospects and managing a pipeline of opportunities. Ideally with experience of using Salesforce (or another CRM system) to manage pipelines, track performance and report on outcomes.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels, negotiating and influencing to achieve successful outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confident and engaging presentation abilities.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Knowledge of fundraising legislation, ethics, compliance, and data protection requirements.

Who you’ll work with: Your line manager will be the Head of Fundraising and you will work alongside a fundraising officer. The fundraising team sits in the Operations Directorate.

Where you’ll work: All Voice 21 staff work remotely and this is a home-based role, with some travel expected to our London office (by Victoria station) and elsewhere for meetings. Occasional overnight stays may be required depending on where you are based. Voice 21 pays all travel and accommodation expenses.

 Purpose:  The Peer Support Officer role will work within Bipolar UK’s Peer Support Line team to support our community through telephone and email support across the UK.

The role involves using your skills and knowledge to support people affected by bipolar disorder with support requests and providing information and signposting to people via email and telephone. The successful applicant will also manage service reports in Salesforce, report back regularly to the management team, as well as developing links with other mental health services or appropriate agencies.

Though Bipolar UK does not offer Crisis Support, the successful applicant may have to direct members of our community experiencing a crisis to relevant services and will also be responsible for recognising and reporting Safeguarding incidents within the bounds of Bipolar UK’s Safeguarding Policies.

The position requires good personal interaction and the ability to empathise with service users while remaining calm and considered in sometimes difficult situations.  This is a varied and hands on role and we are looking for someone with good communication (verbal and written) along with good organisational skills. Bipolar UK will offer the successful applicant regular support and engagement with the team, as well as reflective practice sessions throughout their service with the charity.

The Peer Support Officer reports to the Services Manager who manages this service. This will be a home-based role with occasional travel, such as team days/meetings/training.

We’re looking for a Head of Research & Evidence to join our ambitious Research, Learning & Systems Change Team. 

Young Lives vs Cancer has a strong and growing commitment to changing the system for children and young people with cancer, and their loved ones. Our North Star vision and Time is Now Strategy focus on influencing how the wider system works – from services and policy to practice on the ground – so that families get the support they need.

The Head of Research and Evidence sits in the Research, Learning & Systems Change team, within our Innovation, Policy & Systems Change Directorate. The role is responsible for ensuring our work is grounded in strong, credible and useful evidence, and that learning is actively used to shape decisions, practice and change across the system.

This is a leadership role within a small but ambitious team. You will set direction and provide thought leadership, but you will also be hands on – designing, commissioning, managing and using research alongside colleagues and partners.

Building trusted relationships and using evidence to influence thinking and action are central. You will work with colleagues, children and young people, families, and partner organisations (such as the North Star Cancer Collective) to learn, strengthen credibility and create change.

What will I be doing?

At the UK Cyber Security Council, we’re here to connect, champion and charter the UK’s cyber security profession. Our work is driven by a diverse group of experts, volunteers and partners who bring energy, insight, and commitment to everything we do. Through setting the standards for competence and ethics, awarding professional titles, and supporting more people to get into a career in cyber, we’re on a mission to grow and empower the UK’s cyber security workforce. The Council is the non-regulatory body for the UK’s cyber security sector, and are responsible for holding and developing the UK’s Cyber Security Professional Register. Professionalisation of the sector is still in its early phases of implementation but we have, to date, launched eight specialisms across four professional titles (Associate, Practitioner, Principal and Chartered). We have a growing register of cyber security professionals and an ambitious plan to grow this over the next three years.

Essential

You can demonstrate:

• Significant experience delivering training, or group learning, with the ability to adapt style for different audiences.
• Confidence delivering sessions digitally, a longer-term development may include in-person, (flexibility around reasonable adjustments will be made).
• Strong awareness of mental health conditions and their impact, including bipolar disorder.
• Experience delivering self‑management, psychoeducation or wellbeing‑focused programmes.
• Have a clear understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion in learning environments.
• Ability to create and adapt accessible, inclusive training materials.
• Experience training professionals at varying levels of seniority.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Maintain accurate records of delivery, attendance and outcomes
• Gather participant feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of course materials and delivery methods
• Maintain excellent records throughout course delivery, whilst ensuring feedback and course evaluations are completed and developed.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office and willing to learn new software as required.
• Understanding/adherence to confidentiality/GDPR and also safeguarding policies and willing to undertake training as role requires.
• Co-ordinate promotion, scheduling, delivery and follow-up working close with colleagues in Services, Fundraising and Comms.
• Work with colleagues in Fundraising to further develop the Workplace Friendly Scheme
• Represent the charity professionally with external partners, employers and commissioners

 Desirable

• In‑depth understanding of bipolar disorder and its personal, social and economic impact.
• Experience working in the voluntary or non‑profit sector.
• Understanding of peer support models and the value of lived experience.
• Knowledge of employment, HR processes and/or employment law.

Practical Information

• This role involves online delivery and some travel
• Evening or weekend delivery will be required for some courses and/or workshops.
