Young Roots' vision is a compassionate and welcoming society for young people seeking safety in the UK.

We work alongside young people seeking safety in the UK, building trusted relationships, providing practical and emotional support and promoting young people’s rights and power.

Our youth clubs and casework are transformative for young refugees, allowing young people who have fled danger, had traumatic journeys and who are often here alone, to find community and connection, have a space to be a young person and access support in addressing the whole range of practical challenges they face. We also draw on our evidence from working every day with young refugees and asylum seekers to call for change to the laws and policies which are harming young people. 

About the Role

Young Roots is looking for an experienced and creative Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to play a key role in securing income that transforms the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers. This is a rewarding role leading Trusts and Foundations income generation with structured support from the Head of Fundraising and Development. We are open to applicants wishing to work part-time or full-time to support work-life balance. Please specify in your application your desired working pattern. 

You'll manage a defined portfolio of Trust and Foundation partners, working alongside colleagues overseeing other income streams. You'll develop compelling funding proposals, and proactively identify new opportunities aligned with our strategy. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll place young people’s voices and experiences at the heart of every bid, helping to fund services that support belonging, wellbeing and futures.

We are a small, collaborative organisation, so you will work closely with senior colleagues and programme staff, with plenty of opportunity to influence how we fund and grow our work.

This is an ideal role for a confident Trusts fundraiser who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities, and taking ownership — while working collaboratively in a values-driven organisation.

• Impactful written and verbal communication and influencing skills to enable you to engage, inspire and deliver key messages combined with experience of collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactively acquire new business and new relationships through targeted acquisition including research, completion of applications, and presentations to supporters/companies/groups to secure new income and/or relationships.

This role is home-based with mobile working. Your home base needs to be in Wales (or close to the border - e.g. in Chester) as on a weekly basis you can expect to work across Wales to meet with supporters face to face approximately 2 to 3 days a week. As such, you must have a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle or the ability to travel frequently across the region. 

There will be a requirement to attend in-person team meetings based in the area on a quarterly basis and other parts of the UK when our wider fundraising territory and department get together. 

There will also be a requirement for flexible and out of hours working to support occasional evening and weekend activity and you will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

Job Purpose: 

The purpose of this role is to coordinate and support Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) across WAGGGS’ Learning and Leadership Development (LLD) portfolio and other global programmes, as needed. The role supports the development and implementation of organisational and programme-level MEL frameworks, systems and tools, and contributes to effective data collection, learning and reporting.

The MEL Coordinator collaborates with the organisational MEL Manager and wider MEL team to ensure alignment with organisational MEL approaches, standards and systems, while providing day-to-day MEL coordination and technical support to LLD teams and other programmes.

Key Responsibilities: 

Programme MEL 

1.  Development and delivery of MEL framework & system for LLD, and other WAGGGS delivery areas, in alignment with organisational MEL standards.

2. Support the integration and consistent use of MEL methodologies across teams and volunteer-led activities, contributing to a shared approach to evidence and learning. 

3. Consolidate, analyse and synthesise evidence from young women, volunteers, Member Organisations, and staff to support programme learning, adaptation and reporting. 

4. Provide technical support and guidance on all related MEL activities.

Organisational MEL  

1. Contribute to the testing, design, and finalization of a WAGGGS’ organisation-wide Theory of Change, providing technical input and coordinating inputs from teams during the final development phase. 

2. Support the coordination and operationalisation of organisational MEL framework, tools, systems, and reporting processes, in collaboration with the organisational MEL Manager and wider MEL team.

West Midlands Heritage Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Officer to join our small, dedicated team working to safeguard historic buildings across the West Midlands. This newly created, permanent role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement, primarily home-based, with one day per week in a shared office (currently Worcester), bi-monthly evening board meetings, and occasional regional travel.

Working closely with the Treasurer, trustees, external accountants and project teams, you will support the financial management of WMHT and its partner Project Trusts. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records and budgets, processing invoices, monitoring project expenditure, supporting grant applications and claims, ensuring compliance with statutory and funder requirements, and preparing financial reports for the Board.

In this role, you’ll lead a diverse portfolio of IT projects, working closely with technical specialists, business analysts, and colleagues across the organisation. From initiation through to delivery and transition into business-as-usual, you’ll be responsible for planning, budgeting, risk and dependency management, governance, and clear reporting. About MediCinema

MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.

Our purpose-built in-hospital cinemas are designed to accommodate patients in hospital beds and wheelchairs, on drips or with monitors. Patients are looked after by trained volunteers who accompany them to and from the cinemas, and by two nurses who are present at each inpatient screening. In addition to our regular inpatient screenings, we run Tailored Screenings for specific patient communities, working closely with the patients and clinical teams to co-design experiences that meet the specific needs of each group. We also routinely hold personal screenings for patients who are unable to mix with other patients, are receiving palliative care or are in other sensitive situations. We also run our varied Beyond the Big Screen programme that extends the impact of our services to outside the film screenings, including specially-designed MediCinema activity books, arts & crafts and special character or talent visits. Finally, through our long-standing strategic partnership with Disney, we also design and provide activities on wards and in the MediCinemas as part of our expansive and impactful ‘Moments that Matter’ (MTM) programme.

The Role

We are looking for a Cinema Manager to build and run our brand new service based in the Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI). The MediCinema will be located in the MRI, but will serve patients from across the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, including the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. 

The post-holder will build their team of nurses and volunteers and will work closely with them, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.

We will run a minimum of four regular inpatient screenings each week – exact screening numbers, times and dates to be agreed with all stakeholders, but will include evenings and weekends. There will also be a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of the regular inpatient screenings.

The role offers a unique, exciting and extremely rewarding opportunity for someone interested in a service delivery role at the heart of our charity, involving direct contact with the patients and families we support.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The role of the Cinema Manager is essential to ensure the effective and safe delivery of our service. The Cinema Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of the service. This includes ensuring screenings happen on schedule and as planned, recruiting and managing volunteers and nurses, and developing relationships with a variety of hospital staff and departments to ensure the service is widely promoted and utilised, and to work together on developing Tailored Screening groups and identify candidates for Personal Screenings.

The position would be part of the larger cinema managers team (all of whom operate remotely at various hospital sites) and report to the National Cinema Manager who is based in our central office in London. This position would suit someone who is self-motivated, wants a varied and interesting role and has an interest in film, healthcare and helping to improve people’s wellbeing.

Service Delivery

• Deliver a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings so the role requires regular evening working.
• Be responsible for:
  • Marketing the service throughout the hospital, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.
  • Taking responsibility for health and safety of patients coming to the cinema, and the safety and appearance of the cinema space itself.
  • Preparing and operating the digital projection equipment for the screening, ensuring that films are screened to the highest technical standards at all times. Training and ongoing technical support will be provided for this.
  • Ensuring that all operational, welfare and safeguarding policies set out by MediCinema are followed accordingly, and that consent forms are obtained for photographic or filmed records.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with relevant health and safety legislation, and that areas where MediCinema might be in breach of such are dealt with immediately or brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities for rectification.
  • Keeping accurate monitoring and operational records, including contacts and database updating as required
• Collate, analyse and report back on agreed metrics and KPI’s
• Support with arranging and running any special events and special screenings
• When required, arrange and run additional personal screenings for patients unable to attend regular screenings, plus special tailored screenings with particular hospital departments and patient groups.
• Manage the local development and roll out of different Tailored Screening patient groups, plus any other potential new type of screenings we embark on.
• Support the delivery of our ‘Beyond the Big Screen’ bedside services, including our Disney ‘Moments that Matter’ work.

Nurse & Volunteer Management

• Build, manage and support the team of nurses and volunteers to assist in the duties outlined above and to ensure that screenings run safely and smoothly – this will include managing recruitment and creating monthly rotas.
• Work closely with Voluntary Services Department of the hospital about all the checks and training required for volunteers.

Marketing and Relationship Management

• Be proactive in marketing the service within the hospital, and building key relationships with hospital staff and our partner Manchester Foundation Trust Charity.
• Develop and manage effective partnerships throughout the hospital and community.
• Represent the organisation effectively and compellingly at all times.
• Support the programming and development of the MediCinema as a centre for entertainment, being pro-active in developing a creative programme of sustainable events at each site. This could include supporter events, live performance and other relevant activities.

Administration and other duties

• Provide holiday or emergency screening cover when required.
• Manage the collection, loading and returning of films.
• Champion the work of MediCinema within the hospital and cinema environment, as well as confidently and positively representing MediCinema in all interactions and at any meetings and events, including supporter visits.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the Manchester MediCinema, operations and MediCinema as a wider organisation
• Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring an inclusive and whole organisation approach

• Undertake other tasks, projects and duties as reasonably required.

MediCinema is a small team and staff members are expected to support each other and share cross-organisational work in addition to fulfilling individual responsibilities.

Blue Cross is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Philanthropy to lead and make an active contribution to our High Value Fundraising project, a key initiative designed to grow our future income. This 12-month fixed-term role will focus on delivering high-impact fundraising activity while managing and inspiring a talented Philanthropy team. 

More about the role

You will support in the delivery of the 2026 Philanthropy plan across trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals, with a particular focus on the High Value Fundraising project. Leading high-value fundraising activity, you will manage your own portfolio, create income pipelines, develop key performance indicators, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to maximise philanthropic support. You will ensure the charity’s Case for Support remains current and compelling and deliver high-standard donor reporting. 

This is a home-based role with a contracted base site. Travel to your base site is considered normal commuting, while travel to other Blue Cross locations or partner sites will be reimbursed.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience 

• Extensive experience developing strategies that increase income from major donors and institutional funders, including personally securing five- and ideally six-figure donations 
• Proven experience of meeting and exceeding ambitious income growth targets 
• Experience of building and managing funder relationships 
• Strong financial monitoring, target setting, and reporting skills 
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to analyse and present data tailored for different audiences 
• Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills

Your purpose

Voice 21 is the national oracy education charity, working with over 1000 schools annually to ensure that every child can use their voice to thrive in school, work and life. Alongside our work directly with schools, we campaign nationally to ensure that oracy is recognised and supported by policy-makers and other key stakeholders. 

We’re looking for an Events Lead who will deliver an ambitious, high-quality programme of events in support of our mission. Based in the Influence team, you’ll play a pivotal cross-organisational role in delivering events in support of our national network of Voice 21 Oracy Schools, sales and marketing, and our fundraising and public affairs goals. 

Your responsibilities

Event development, planning and management

• Support the development and delivery of Voice 21’s Events Strategy, in alignment with our organisational plan 

• Work collaboratively across the organisation, especially with key stakeholders in the Growth and Fundraising teams, to ensure alignment with organisational goals, and effective coordination between teams 

• Plan and manage Voice 21’s annual flagship events: responsible for ticket sale and revenue generation targets; attendee experience; and co-ordination of content generation and programme design 

• Work collaboratively across the organisation to coordinate events (physical and virtual) in support of organisational goals, providing expertise, support in management/delivery, and helping to establish organisation-wide best practice systems and processes 

• Manage relationships with external stakeholders including venues, exhibitors and suppliers 

• Prepare and manage event project budgets, ensuring events operate with the agreed parameters, value-for-money is achieved and that there is effective and compliant monitoring and reporting 

• Evaluate and report upon the impact of Voice 21 events to support evidence-informed decision-making

• Ensure all events communications reflect Voice 21’s brand and strategic messaging.

External event and speaker opportunities

• Take ownership of, and further develop, Voice 21’s processes for the acceptance of external speaking opportunities, in a time of growing demand. Work across the organisation to ensure that this is managed in alignment with our organisational goals regarding partnerships, marketing and influencing. 

• Evaluate and select external events and conferences, as opportunities for Voice 21 to further its mission

Within 1 month, you’ll have:

• Attended one of Voice 21’s annual flagship events (depending on start date)

• Developed and initiated a process for the development of Voice 21’s external speaker request system 

• Taken over and continued the planning and management of Voice 21’s flagship October event

 Within 6 months, you’ll have:

• In full ownership of Voice 21’s annual flagship events 

• Coordinating events, in collaboration with colleagues from across Voice 21, in service of our organisational goals 

• Supporting the development and delivery of Voice 21’s Events Strategy 

• You’ll have come along to the Voice 21 charity-wide Away Day and met the whole team!

Person specification

Essential

• A proven track record in the management and delivery of conference-style events

• Experience creating and managing events budgets 

• Experience using campaign management software

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with events stakeholders 

• Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities

• Able to form excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
