About the Role

The CEO will provide leadership to Embracing Age and to be responsible for the management and administration of the charity, in partnership with and reporting to the trustees. You'll lead, inspire and motivate staff and volunteers, whilst upholding and developing the Christian ethos, vision, mission and values of Embracing Age, along with the strategic objectives and priorities.

Our Surrey Volunteer Recruitment Manager (VRM) works closely with VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team to promote the MCR programme to organisations and individuals.  The purpose is to recruit committed volunteers who will mentor a young person in their school for one hour a week during term time. The successful candidate will have accountability for several key areas of operational delivery of BITC’s programmes across England, Scotland and Wales. Research and identify a pipeline of qualified prospective corporate donors who are headquartered in the UK/Europe and have the capacity and propensity to give at the six-figure level.  

Engage and cultivate new high value corporate/corporate foundation donors.

The Project Coordinator role is responsible for the smooth running of our projects and programmes. You’d be part of one or more project teams, overseen by a Project or Portfolio Manager, ensuring that our projects are delivered to a high standard, and that our participants and clients have a positive experience working with us.

1. Responsible for the administration and coordination of project delivery and communication across a portfolio of Koreo’s programmes and projects

We’re looking for someone with the following skillset:

● Organisation, time management and task efficiency – You are reliable and thrive on responsibility. You will be expected to manage competing priorities, delivering at pace to a high standard. Effective planning and strong organisation skills will be key to the success of this role

● Ability to take initiative and effectively solve problems – You are able to work independently and use initiative when needed. You are a natural problem solver, and you are able to quickly spot and manage key risk areas

● Attention to detail – You are an excellent proof-reader and you are able to work confidently with large quantities of complex data

● Customer service – You should understand who our customers/clients are and show a commitment and desire to anticipate, meet and exceed their needs and expectations

● Build positive relationships – You are comfortable in a small, busy and ambitious team. You are be a good team player and able to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues and our community

● Written and verbal communication – You can communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. You should be confident in conversing with a variety of people and be able to adapt your style to different audiences and through different mediums

● Adaptable – You cope well with competing demands and changing environments. You maintain your effectiveness and productivity throughout. You will be flexible and able to work in different settings and with different people

●Good general education, typically to A Level or equivalent

●Experience managing and delivering work to a deadline and in accordance to a plan

●Experience of working effectively on own initiative and as part of a team

●Experience working with databases and other systems including Google Workspace or equivalent

●Experience of providing administrative support to projects and teams

●Basic working knowledge of creating and coordinating projects

●The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes

●Strong attention to detail

●Good communication skills, both oral and written – particularly the ability to communicate with people at various levels

●Desire to work on issues and themes of social change and the development of others

It’s desirable, but not essential that the person has:

●Experience of organising and planning events

●Experience of building and managing working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders

●Experience of collecting and analysing data/ insights and writing/producing reports

●Experience of digital diary management and coordination

●Knowledge of charities and/or employment programmes and the way they work and operate

●Ability to use design and communications software like Adobe and other platforms

●A proactive, problem-solving approach to challenges

●Desire and commitment to own learning and ongoing development

The RSCM is on a mission to enable the flourishing of church music, and in particular to get children singing.

Working across the whole charity, you will work to sell existing products, courses and events, as well as membership subscriptions. With a passion for the power of singing and music, you will persuade musicians, teachers and members of church communities of the value of RSCM’s offerings. You will build and leverage a network of advocates to help spread the word, accelerating take-up and growing the RSCM’s reach in churches and schools.

The post holder will be expected to work to actively drive sales of RSCM products such as ‘Hymnpact!’ (a singing resource aimed at encouraging singing in primary schools), sales of events such as singing courses, and membership subscriptions; and in some instances voluntary giving. Some of the work will be in support of RSCM Enterprises, RSCM’s wholly owned trading subsidiary.

The sales plan will be delivered with some assistance of external contractors (e.g. social media), and with input from individuals across the organisation.

The post holder is responsible for selling to individuals, corporate customers (such as school federations) and organisations (e.g. choral societies) including through appropriate organisational networks. The holder will play an active part in suggesting, agreeing and delivering agreed KPIs and sales targets, monitoring and adjusting activities as necessary to improve results. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the long-term financial viability of the charity and whilst we have a comprehensive product offer, we welcome innovation. The post holder will be expected to make suggestions and recommendations for NPD (new product development) and changes to our strategy that could make the products more attractive to parallel markets.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children living with serious illness/ disability or mental health crises in hospital by making our case to donors, trusts and corporate organisations to fund our work in children’s hospitals.

We have an opportunity to fill a brand-new role within the charity - a bid writer/fundraiser to research, design, write and submit detailed applications for capital and revenue funds to support our services. This will be an exceptional opportunity for a gifted and driven individual to build new networks and to establish, develop and maintain new fundraising initiatives for the charity.
