You’ll initially lead the campaigning element of the Peat Free Partnership - a major cross sector - effort to secure a legal end to peat sales in UK horticulture hosted and coordinated by Plantlife. Working with partners, industry leaders and the public, you’ll create powerful, insight led campaigns that build momentum and influence decision-makers.

Working across Policy, Advocacy and Communications, this role will deliver a unifying voice working closely with the horticultural industry and other partners and building on mass public support for legislation change.

Beyond this flagship campaign, you’ll also help shape Plantlife’s future campaigning capability. The role will develop approaches, tools and strategies that strengthen Plantlife’s voice over the long term inspiring wider public and private action for wild plants, fungi and the nature-based solutions they underpin

The Project Officer will provide administrative support for our work with schools delivering our Skills for Life programmes. This is a key operational role within Partnership for Children and would suit someone who enjoys systems and administration, working in a small friendly team, is comfortable juggling a varied workload, and is motivated by working for a children’s mental health charity.

About Partnership for Children

We are a small charity, founded over 20 years ago, offering a series of programmes to schools and out-of-school settings to help young children around the world communicate effectively, cope with their anxieties and difficulties and develop skills which will enable them to flourish. Our mission is to build the social and emotional skills of children across the entire nursery and primary school age range (3 – 12 years) through well-evidenced programmes and collaborative, mutually beneficial and sustainable partnerships.

The Project Officer’s main responsibilities will include:

1. Maintain administrative systems to enable schools and teachers to book training, purchase/renew subscriptions and buy printed resources
2. Invoice schools and ensure payment is received for training, subscriptions and resources
3. Administer the CRM and LMS, keeping it up to date and running reports as required
4. Track income from training, subscriptions and resources against the annual budget
5. Send the annual survey to schools and monitor responses
6. Ensure website is up to date with prices and training dates
7. Deal with day-to-day enquiries from teachers and schools who are interested in or currently running our Skills for Life programmes

Person Specification:

• Highly organised, detail-orientated with experience in and an aptitude for setting up and maintaining administrative systems
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 including using Sharepoint, Calendar and MS Teams to organise and share information collaboratively
• Comfortable maintaining spreadsheets and simple trackers and producing clear summary reports
• Experience of using a CRM to collect information, communicate with stakeholders
• Experience of using learning management systems such as Moodle
• Able to use software such as Eventbrite, MailChimp, Dropbox, Zoom and Survey Monkey
• An organised, patient approach to routine tasks that require high levels of attention to detail
• An ability to work in a small team in a charity with limited resources.

Additional benefits include:

25 days annual leave plus 3 days Christmas leave and Bank Holidays pro-rated for a part-time contract.  In addition, we offer up to 3 days per year for staff to carry out volunteer duties such as school governor or Trustee roles and a pension scheme.

This role leads the day to day delivery of a national patient and public involvement and engagement service supporting research. Key responsibilities

· To lead the Strategy team, ensuring the research and policy portfolios are informed by best practice to achieve our mission and vision, while embodying our values. This includes working across the Secretariat to deliver the existing strategy.

· To be a thought leader, keep abreast of external trends and developments and changing circumstances to ensure the WeProtect Global Alliance Strategy remains relevant, targeted and focused on improving outcomes for children and young people in a rapidly changing legislative, operational and technological landscape.

· To be accountable for strategy, research, policy and cross organisational projects and work streams. This includes planning and organising relevant performance and delivery areas, being mindful of cross-cutting impacts and priorities.

Brief role description:

The NST Client Advisor plays a key role in delivering the support centre function for the programme. Working closely with the Nova Support Team (NST), the Advisor provides initial advice, guidance, and assistance to Veterans who are at risk of contact with the Justice System or are involved in the Justice System.

Brief role description:

​

The NST Client Advisor plays a key role in delivering the support centre function for the programme. Working closely with the Nova Support Team (NST), the Advisor provides initial advice, guidance, and assistance to Veterans who are at risk of contact with the Justice System or are involved in the Justice System.​

​

​Some of your principal responsibilities will include receiving and triaging referrals for veterans who are at risk of, or involved in, the justice system, making timely first contact and completing initial registrations, and providing accurate advice and guidance while maintaining detailed records on the case management system.

​

As a NST Client Advisor, you will need experience in guiding and supporting individuals, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders while remaining highly organised and IT confident.

​

​Ideally, you will also have an understanding of the justice system, experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems and a resilient and adaptable approach.

​

About the role

As Events Manager, you’ll lead Birmingham Hospice’s events programme end-to-end, combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery. You’ll work closely with the Senior Fundraising Project Manager to shape an ambitious events programme that strengthens Birmingham Hospice’s brand while delivering real financial impact.

You will:

• Act as the events lead within the Income Generation team, sharing insight and supporting colleagues across the charity
• Lead the development and delivery of the annual events plan, creating a dynamic, costeffective programme that inspires supporters and drives income
• Line manage two Events Officers, providing regular 1:1s, development support and inspirational leadership
• Manage a varied portfolio including mass participation, third-party challenges, adrenaline events and special events
• Deliver against agreed income and expenditure budgets, contributing to an overall events income target of around £250k, including a £50k headline event
• Track income and expenditure day-to-day, produce post-event evaluations, and use learning to continuously improve future activity
• Identify new growth opportunities, using market insight and sector trends to expand participation and reach new audiences
• Build strong internal relationships across clinical, retail and corporate teams to promote events and maximise engagement
• Ensure all events meet high standards of health & safety, compliance and supporter care
• Oversee volunteers, apprentices and placements, ensuring a positive and professional experience for everyone involved

About you

You’ll be a confident, motivated events professional with charity sector experience and a strong track record of delivering successful fundraising events. You’ll bring:

• Proven experience delivering fundraising events, ideally including mass participation and third-party challenges
• Experience working in the charity sector
• Experience of line managing one or two staff, with a supportive, confident leadership style
• Strong event delivery skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience managing budgets and contributing to income targets
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative approach
• A proactive mindset, keen to test new ideas and grow audiences
• Emotional intelligence and resilience, with sensitivity to the nature of hospice work

Employee benefits

The role is Birmingham-based, primarily at Selly Park, with regular working from Erdington. The team typically spends at least two days per week onsite, alongside event delivery. Hybrid working is available but not contractually formalised, and compressed hours are supported. Please ask if you have any questions around flexible working.
