Role Details

Location: Home based, with regular UK wide travel where required. Although the charity has national reach there is a particular focus on activity in Nottingham, Richard’s home town.

This will include supporter acquisition, funding applications, event management and donor stewardship.
• Develop and oversee a marketing and communications plans
• To have a hands-on approach to progressing the Richard Whitehead Foundation
• Regular contact with trustees most notably the Chair, and President.
• Ensure that the Richard Whitehead Foundation is compliant with all relevant regulations, including those related to fundraising, governance, and charity law.

About Katherine Low Settlement   

Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.   

We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people. 

We are looking for an experienced, confident and proactive fundraiser to join our income generation team to raise more grant income from charitable trusts and foundations primarily, along with corporates and other partners. These include local schools and community organisations. Maintaining great relationships with these and other supporters Is a key requirement of this role. A confident self-starter, you will have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Role Purpose 

Working alongside our chief executive (who is an experienced fundraiser), an external larger bid writing resource and heads of programmes, the key objectives are to successfully generate income with grants valuing up to c.£10k in line with KLS fundraising plan and annual budget; develop and maintain relationships, and secure funding from, a portfolio of loyal and prospective supporters. Stewardship, reporting, pipeline and other database management tasks are other key features of the role. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Drafting and submitting funding bids up to c£10k grant value 

• Reporting to funders and supporting relationships with funders and partners

• Researching and identifying grant funding opportunities 

• Managing bid writing process, including gathering input from colleagues 

• Briefing programme colleagues on project monitoring required to produce funding reports, including case studies 

• Working with CEO to ensure monitoring takes place throughout project delivery and within reporting timelines for multiple projects and funders

We champion academic freedom and oppose all academic boycotts of Jews and / or Israeli institutions and faculties.

The ICPG was created in 2024 in response to the sharp rise in antisemitism in UK universities since 7th October 2023. We collaborate broadly with universities and Higher Education institutions, policymakers, lawyers and other stakeholders. Where appropriate, we engage with communal organisations.

We operate across the following areas: (1) Data Collection, (2) Standards and Interventions, (3) Free Speech and Academic Freedom, (4) Universities and College Union, and (5) Stakeholder Engagement. ICPG is looking to recruit an Operations Manager with responsibility for operational leadership, strategic planning and implementation and financial management of the organisation. Candidates should have an interest in challenging antisemitism within the university sector, but do not necessarily need to have previous experience in this area.

This Communications Officer role is available on a fixed term contract and part-time basis. The salary for this role is £35,000 FTE (pro-rata for 4 days a week). This role is also available on a remote basis.
 
You will report to the Director of Fundraising and look after the communications function of the charity. You will support with work on a rebrand, campaign management and continuous updating of the charity’s website. You will produce high quality content which includes, engaging articles, social media and website content, newsletters, flyers, booklets, and impact stories. You will also film and edit reels for social media channels.
 
You will play a key role supporting the Director of Fundraising in managing/promoting fundraising campaigns, initiatives and events. You will also support with day-to-day marketing duties such as reporting website stats, beneficiary feedback, press management and updating directories. 
 
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent copywriting skills and be able to write for a range of different audiences with impact. You will be digitally savvy and experience using WordPress and web analytics tools (e.g. GA4). You will have in brand management and understanding of SEO. You will have experience using design software (e.g. Canva/InDesign). You will have experience executing fundraising campaigns and publishing digital and print content. You will also have experience in working with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.

Operations Officer (Internal role names: Scheduler, Response Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator)
 

Time: 2.5 days per week (20 hours). Monday is an essential working day, the rest of the time can be worked flexibly within business hours.

Where: Remote - UK based. Two team days per year in London / South East or online.

As Scheduler, you’ll help allocate new client referrals to our team of practitioners and coordinate smooth handovers between team members. You’ll work closely with the Scheduling Lead and wider operations team to ensure efficiency and continuity of care.

In the Response Coordinator role, you'll manage all incoming enquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely responses and directing queries to the appropriate team member.

As Volunteer and Placement Coordinator, you’ll oversee the onboarding of volunteers and Music Therapy student placements, matching individuals to suitable settings, and handling DBS checks and references.

You’ll also contribute to ongoing improvements by sharing feedback and insights from your role to support the development of internal systems and processes.

Accountabilities

This role involves a range of duties that may vary week to week. Key responsibilities include:

• Responding promptly to general enquiries from individuals and organisations via phone and email

• Supporting the scheduling team with new referrals, service contracts, and opportunities, including liaising with Music Therapists and Community Musicians

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM system (Salesforce or similar experience is desirable), including logging communications and key information

• Ensuring clear and consistent communication with clients, referrers, and partner organisations regarding referrals and enquiries

We are looking for a highly organised, efficient individual who can work independently and take initiative when needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy and sensitivity in all communications, with a warm and supportive telephone manner and the ability to write clear, compassionate email responses to clients and referrers.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach are essential, as this role involves close interaction with colleagues across the team. An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, music therapy and the experiences of our clients is important.

Confidence using digital tools and systems is essential, as the role involves working with a range of platforms to support service delivery and coordination.

Established in 2014, the National Counter Trafficking Centre runs several programmes across England and Wales. One of these is the Independent Child Trafficking Guardianship Service (ICTG) as outlined in Section 48 of The Modern Slavery Act 2015.

The legislation provides a duty to support all children and young people who have been trafficked and reside within one of these areas: Wales/Cymru, East Midlands, West Midlands Combined Authorities, Bedfordshire, Gloucestershire (including Bristol), Warwickshire, all London Boroughs, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight (including Portsmouth and Southampton), Kent, Surrey, Essex, Greater Manchester, North and West Yorkshire, Lancashire and Merseyside.  

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers based within one of the following areas: 

• London 
• Birmingham
• Manchester

If you are interested in applying for the role, you must have a current driving licence and use of a car or be able to manage extensive travel via pubic transport as there is the potential for extensive travel across our delivery sites. The the role will be Home Based; due to the nature of the work you must be able to identify a confidential space for you to carry out your day to day work.

What are the responsibilities of the Support Worker - Independent Child Trafficking Guardianship Service:

Support for Children:

Independent Child Trafficking Guardians support children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation, working alongside other professionals to ensure that children receive appropriate support in line with their needs.

Within this role you will:

• Support young people through short term pieces of work, for example groupwork and transition out of the service
• Work alongside ICTG's to deliver trips and activities for young people
• Support young people to engage with participation activities both within NCTC and as delivered by partner organisations
• Maintain up to date and accurate recordings on the children's electronic files.
• Identify and respond to safeguarding, alerting managers to concerns and completing actions as required
• Where appropriate contribute to national awareness raising sessions
• Contribute to the national on call rota

Home based with potential for extensive travel across all NCTC delivery sites.
