A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full‑time Senior Events Officer to join the Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. This role plays a key part in delivering SSAFA’s ambitious events programme, leading on our portfolio of Running Challenge Events while supporting the wider Events team to drive income and raise the charity’s profile.

You will identify and develop high‑value running opportunities, manage flagship events such as the London Marathon, Great North Run and Race to the Stones, and ensure every participant enjoys an exceptional and motivating supporter journey. Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, marketing and special events, you will help deliver a diverse calendar of public‑facing and high‑profile activities.

From budget management and risk assessment to post‑event evaluation and sector research, you will bring creativity, organisation and strong relationship‑building skills to ensure our events run smoothly, meet targets and champion SSAFA within the military and veteran community.

 About the team

The SSAFA Events team is a small team with a high output both financially and in terms of number of events produced. We work closely together and thrive to deliver high quality, successful events.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have an understanding of the charity sector and ideally a background of working in charity events. You will be driven, conscientious and have high attention to detail. In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to develop positive relationships with our supporters in order to manage and grow existing events and relationships. As this role supports major events throughout the year, you should also be able to work evenings and weekends when required, and travel across the UK and abroad to support event delivery.

Volunteering Mass Engagement Lead (x2)
Full time (34.5 hours), we are open to a conversation about how you work these hours

This role is home-based with regular travel required (including some weekends) to our events and team meetings. Please be aware that some of our events are based in very remote locations so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous. Philanthropy, which covers Grants, Trusts & Foundations and Major Donor fundraising streams, is pivotal to Noah’s Ark, typically accounting for around 50% of the charity’s voluntary income. This is an area of real expertise for Noah’s Ark, with much scope for further refining. The successful candidate will therefore be instrumental in taking this key income stream forward, add to an exciting portfolio and gain further training and support, working as part of a high-performing and super supportive team, ready for its next development phase.

The Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager will work closely with and report to the Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust pipeline, along with instrumental cross-team work on applications and reporting processes for other income streams. Whilst we work towards developing a more diverse funding model and navigate changes to the external Trust environment, sustaining and growing income from Trusts will remain vital.

The post-holder will manage a Philanthropy Officer (Trusts & Major Donors) and, together, they will be instrumental in taking the Trust programme to the next level, establishing lasting relationships with funders, securing new grants, increasing multi-year gifts and improving both quality and volume of applications and reports. They will also support the Philanthropy Officer, and the wider team, to the same end with their respective portfolios.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a highly organised, dedicated and reliable individual ready to play a significant role in income generation. An exceptional and eloquent communicator, excellent at managing your time and a natural relationship builder. You will have a collaborative mindset, and be willing to engage with colleagues across the fundraising team and wider charity to create the greatest outcomes for the children and families we support.

You will have considerable experience fundraising from grant makers and will be able to demonstrate your success with securing high value gifts and building meaningful relationships. You will have confidence in your ability to make an impact through collaborative lateral thinking. You will also support other team members with their applications, as well as acting as a key liaison with our Care team to obtain latest information about service delivery.

Purpose of the role

The Senior Legal Officer plays a key role in supporting ILPA’s legal and policy work on immigration, economic migration, asylum and nationality.

Working under the direction of the Legal Director, the post holder will lead detailed legal and policy analysis, support parliamentary and influencing activity and contribute to high-quality information and engagement for ILPA members.

Key responsibilities

1. Legal and policy analysis

a. Produce high-quality analysis of immigration, asylum and nationality law and policy.

b. Monitor developments in legislation, case law and policy, including secondary legislation and guidance.

c. Prepare written briefings, updates and summaries for members, trustees and external stakeholders.

d. Support the Legal Director in the development and delivery of ILPA’s legal strategy.

2.       Parliamentary and influencing work

a. Support ILPA’s parliamentary work, including monitoring legislation and parliamentary business.

b. Draft consultation responses, briefings and evidence submissions.

c. Assist in engagement with parliamentarians, officials, peers and external organisations.

We're hiring a Recovery Worker to join the team in Croydon which is a 24/7 accommodation service which provides high support to females with forensic mental health needs, complex needs and dual diagnosis. In this role, you will be at the forefront of providing person centred support, to help our residents overcome personal challenges, and meet their desired goals/outcomes. You will do this through various support plans and interventions, running and participation of activities, and working alongside various internal and external partners. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Being the main support worker for a group of residents, helping to create and update their support and risk plans.
• Plan, run and engage in activities such as games, celebrations, and movies or out of service activities such as planned days out to encourage social interaction while confidently lone working and managing the service.
• Help residents understand their rights, build confidence and become more independent as they return to the community.
• Notice when someone’s mental health is getting worse and take action to stop things from reaching a crisis.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns when needed.
• Support residents with taking their medication and keep accurate records. Build good working relationships with colleagues and outside agencies.

• Demonstrated end-to-end partnership development capability, from prospect identification and pipeline build through to close, contract and handover.

• Experience building and managing a robust pipeline of high-value prospects, including disciplined CRM management (Salesforce or equivalent).

• Evidence of consistently meeting or exceeding new business revenue targets aligned to an organisational financial strategy.

• Ability to design and deliver tailored partnership propositions across commercial, philanthropic and employee engagement models.

The Major Giving team consists of 12 people with five direct reports, leading the sub-teams of Philanthropy, Trusts and Foundations, Strategic Partnerships and our Events function. Your team sits within the Income Generation Directorate, and you’ll work closely with colleagues across that Directorate and with our Policy & Campaigns  Engagement and Community & Network Directorates. Purpose of the role

The Legal Director provides strategic leadership on immigration, economic migration, asylum and nationality for ILPA, with a primary focus on legal policy, legislative analysis, member engagement and public influence.

The role is responsible for shaping ILPA’s legal positions, overseeing the quality and coherence of legal analysis across the organisation, and maintaining ILPA’s standing as the leading professional membership body in immigration and asylum law.

Key responsibilities

1. Legal strategy and leadership

In collaboration with the Trustees and Chief Executive, the Legal Director will:

a. Develop and maintain ILPA’s short-, medium- and long-term legal strategy in line with ILPA’s charitable objectives.

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team to create, deliver and analyse integrated marketing plans that utilise the full marketing mix to extend the reach and maximize the sales of BookTrust’s traded reading programmes to schools.
