Role Overview:

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

Person-centred care and support  

• Deliver effective social prescribing appointments using a holistic and person-centred approach that helps people focus on what matters to them. 
• Empower people to take control of their own wellbeing by building their confidence, motivating them to set goals and creating personalised action plans. 
• Signpost and refer people to local voluntary, community and statutory services that help meet their needs. 
• Support people to overcome their personal barriers to access VCSE organisations and follow up to ensure they are satisfied, able to engage, and receiving good support. 
• Treat everyone with dignity, and respect different cultures, religions, ways of life and other personal characteristics at all times. 

Communication and Collaboration  

• Build excellent relationships with primary care/adult social care teams, providing regular updates, sharing knowledge of local VCSE organisations and working together to develop the service. 
• Provide support and develop partnerships with local VCSE organisations, community groups, and statutory services to make safe and effective onward referrals. 
• Work with the Enable Health and Wellbeing Team and local partners to identify unmet needs within the community and gaps in service provision. 
• Promote the social prescribing micro-commissioning fund and support VCSE organisations to apply. 
• Act as a champion of social prescribing, increasing awareness and promoting its benefits to a wide range of audiences. 
• Work with a team of volunteer buddies to provide additional support to clients. 

Service Quality and Development  

• Collect and record outcome, monitoring and impact data using required systems, contributing to the evaluation of the service. 
• Manage own case load to ensure clients receive appropriate levels of support and expectations are met. 
• Gather client feedback to evaluate the quality of the service and to inform service changes and developments. 
• Identify how the service could be developed and improved and, drawing upon knowledge of service delivery, make suggestions about how social prescribing could be embedded to a greater extent across Wandsworth. 
• Keep up to date with key changes in the health and social care sector in order to shape and develop the service, including those relating to good practice and policy. 
• Lead by example by demonstrating excellent customer service, delivery skills, organisation and professionalism. 
• Complete Quality Assurance Assessments for VCSE organisations accepting social prescribing referrals to ensure they are safe, effective, and have the support they need to be part of social prescribing. 
• Work with your line manager to identify your own support needs and undertake continual personal and professional development.

• At least 2 year experience in a role that involves delivering face-to-face support in a relevant health or social care environment.

• Experience of working with people of all ages with a range of social needs.  
• Experience of working with the VCSE sector (in a paid or voluntary capacity), including with volunteers and small community groups.  
• Motivational interviewing, behaviour change, or health coaching qualification (desirable) or willingness to undertake training (essential).  
• Motivational interviewing, behaviour change or health coaching experience (desirable).  

Knowledge 

• Knowledge of the wider determinants of health, including social, economic and environmental factors. 
• Understanding of personalisation and the skills required to support self-care.

• Local knowledge of VCSE and community services in Wandsworth (desirable).

Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.

We are looking for two dedicated and passionate Advice and Information Worker to join our team based in Hatfield! You will be the first point of contact for anyone needing to access the ‘hyh hub’ and will ensure that all referrals are triaged to identify the most effective pathway for support. The worker will deliver accurate advice and information to young people, parents and professionals, and work undertaken in a coordinated timely manner. You will carry out appropriate assessments, with other agencies where needed, to assess the needs of the family to prevent family breakdown and homelessness.

Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied, short term case load with conflicting deadlines
- To offer realistic advice and options to young people, family members and professionals to prevent family breakdown and homelessness, identifying any other needs within the process.
- To carry out service user assessments under the JHP and liaise with statutory agencies, non-statutory agencies and family members to assist with a planned move on/secure accommodation for
16/17 year olds as required.
- Develop and maintain smooth, accurate pathways on the database for gathering and maintaining all relevant service user and statistical information
- To chair and coordinate family meetings, housing support meetings and liaison meetings with other agencies as required
- To liaise and refer into Crashpad as required and work within the set timescales
- Alongside team members and external partners, co-ordinate and implement focused action plans, working with families for a maximum of 6 weeks
- Working in strengths based way, support 16/17 year olds to advocate for themselves when appropriate and necessary
- Carry out the necessary follow-up work and write ups of service users files
- Encourage and promote a planned approach to solving conflict alongside the ‘hyh hub’ and explore the mediation / family link worker processes to young people and their families, in line with the ‘single pathway’ model.

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our London & South East Team supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer.

You will be part of a close-knit Young Lives vs Cancer social work team, working with an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and services in the community.

About Us:

The Cowrie Scholarship Foundation, established in June 2020 (Charity Number 1191471), was set up to enable talented economically disadvantaged Black British students to attend UK universities by providing full scholarships. Black British students are found to be under-represented at many of our universities, and individuals from affluent areas are five times more likely than those from deprived areas to attend a high-tariff university. The Cowrie Scholarship Foundation aims to remove one fundamental obstacle – the financial cost of university education.

The Foundation has already allocated 70 scholarships and maintains a busy annual schedule of activity across partner and scholarship management; fundraising, communications and governance. The charity is led by the founder, Professor Richard Oreffo, and the Trustees, with the support of a freelance Project Manager. 

Job Description

An experienced Project Assistant role is offered on a consultancy (freelance contract, applicants must be self-employed) basis, initially on a 6 month contract with opportunity to extend a further 6 months; possible renewal to follow. This represents an incredible opportunity for a hands on delivery role to be involved in a very active, transformational education charity.

Key targets for the role are:

1. Undertake day-to-day administration of the charity using Gmail, Google Drive and (Beacon) CRM database;
2. Support the Project Manager in the operations of the charity, including in fundraising, events, and Scholar and partner collaboration, compliance and working.
3. Support the founder, trustee board and Project Manager to develop strong relationship with core university and business partners, ambassadors, supporters, Scholars, alumni, and Friends of Cowrie;
4. Undertake social media planning and scheduling;
5. Support the running of the mentoring programme for Cowrie Scholars;
6. Liaising with universities and corporate partners to share opportunities and information.

About You
You will be looking for a challenging and demanding role as a project officer and administrator in a
fast-paced charity.

• You must have at least 3+ years’ demonstrable experience in a comparable role in the charitable or corporate sector, and you will be motivated and passionate to achieve our aims as we are.
• Demonstrable familiarity with Gmail and Google Drive, CRM databases is essential (Beacon experience desirable), and social media scheduling would be an advantage.
• The ability to be proactive, a motivated self-starter, have discretion and be organised is essential. The role is not suited to entry-level applicants or applicants needing supervision or extensive training.
• Experience in Higher Education sector is desirable but not essential.
   

About the role:
 

The role is offered on an initial basis of 6 months’ probation to be upgraded to a year, with the opportunity to renew.
 

A weekly commitment of 10 hours per week will be paid at £25/hour. Times worked will be negotiable, but some key hours to be worked on a Thursday to support the founder. The role is predominantly virtual and the successful candidate will provide all their own working equipment, including a computer and office space. Annual opportunities to meet up with the board in person and scholars at a fundraiser annually will be available, but attendance for the Project Officer is not mandatory.

Duties to include:

Administration / Governance
i) Day to day running of the charity’s ‘virtual’ office (email / Microsoft Office / use of Beacon CRM database / Google Drive).
ii) Managing correspondence and email flagging, filing, online storage / filing and retrieval of documents.
iii) Setting dates for trustee meetings and updating board papers.
iv) Prepare board notes for regular board meetings.
v) Support the Project Manager and founder with any other project tasks.

Partner Management
i) Ensure regular communications are sent to Scholars and universities as required.
ii) Ensure Cowrie donors (businesses and individuals) are kept up-to-date with progress.
iii) Manage administration with regards to university partnerships and annual student intake.

Communications and Events
Support the marketing communication sub-group of the Board; elements will include:
i) Assist with coordinating a range of events each year including annual summer events and the annual student festival.

Consultancy Terms
i) The role will be paid hourly - initially typically around 10 hours a week as required (will require typically hours on a Thursday) (timings and induction to be agreed) at a rate of £25 an hour on an initial six month consultancy contract with the opportunity, on joint agreement between the Charity and consultant, to extend to a further 6 months and by negotiation thereafter.

The Operations Assistant is a new role at Figurative, supporting the Operations Manager and the wider team to ensure processes are as streamlined and efficient as possible and evolve with the growth of the organisation. The Operations Assistant will have the opportunity to work across a variety of areas, from finance and data analysis to event support and CRM database development.

Key Responsibilities

The demands of this role will be both operations specific and general to Figurative. You will play an important role in supporting the operations and finance functions within Figurative. In particular, this includes:

● Responsibility for accounts receivable and accounts payable management, across both Figurative and its impact investment funds

● Supplier communications and management, including maintenance of up-to-date records and contracts

● Maintaining up-to-date records of credit card expenses and receipts

● Updating cash reconciliations and payment trackers and providing updates and accurate corresponding figures to the Investment Team and Operations Manager

The Impact Assistant is a new role at Figurative that will primarily support work on the Arts & Culture Impact Fund (“ACIF”), an £18m social investment fund which seeks to enable enterprising arts, culture and heritage organisations to fulfil their missions through the use of flexible and risk-tolerant finance. The Impact Assistant will also contribute to Figurative’s emerging advisory work, providing impact development support to the creative and cultural sector.

Key Responsibilities

The demands of this role will be both fund (ACIF) specific and general to Figurative. You will play an important role in assessing and understanding the social impact enabled through ACIF. In particular, this includes:

• Providing administrative support in the monitoring of impact delivery and reporting requirements across a portfolio of investments to ensure requirements are met in a timely manner
