ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to support academy leaders and deliver high quality people-focused advice across the Federation.

This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with senior leaders, providing expert advice on employee relations, workforce planning and organisational change. You’ll lead complex casework, coach leaders on effective people management, and support initiatives that improve engagement, wellbeing and performance.

The role involves regular visits to academies, building strong relationships and ensuring consistent, high-quality HR practice. You’ll also contribute to HR projects, policy development and leadership training.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a trusted HR partner to academy leaders, providing proactive, pragmatic advice on workforce planning, engagement, performance and wellbeing
• Providing expert advice and support to managers on complex employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, capability management and restructures, ensuring legal compliance and timely resolution
• Coaching and supporting senior leaders to strengthen people management capability and embed best practice, including informal dispute resolution
• Providing expert advice and support to leaders on organisational change, including restructures and TUPE transfers, supporting with managing consultation processes and trade union relationships
• Analysing workforce data and trends to inform HR initiatives such as retention, attendance improvement, and improving the employee experience

As ER Manager, you'll:

• oversee the management and resolution of employee relations cases including grievance, disciplinary, performance, and capability investigations, hearings and appeals with professionalism, integrity and compliance
•  lead on allocation and monitoring of casework, ensuring timely and accurate resolution, providing coaching, support and guidance 
• manage complex or sensitive cases or investigations to ensure consistency and objectivity and appropriate outcomes

The People directorate delivers a first-class service to the organisation and our 1,600 employees across the country. Our Supporter Care Assistant plays a pivotal role at War Child as the first point of contact for many of our supporters and the general public. Part of the Supporter Engagement Department but working across the organisation and the wider War Child family, you’ll be joining a team which prides itself on innovation and collaboration in order to inspire our fundraisers and supporters. The Supporter Care Assistant deals with a wide range of fundraising enquiries through phone, email and post: this is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be supporting our vital work by providing timely, compassionate and appropriate communications, as well as ensuring efficient administration of donations and maintenance of accurate database records.

We’ll need you to be able to work on a Monday, as it’s our busiest day in the team. A regular on-site presence is essential too as managing the incoming post is a core part of the role, so we’ll need you to be based in our London office for a minimum of one day per week. South East London Mind’s award-winning Mindful Mums Programme aims to build resilience and prevent pregnant and new mums from developing mental health problems during the perinatal period (pregnancy up to 1 year). This year marks the service’s 10-year anniversary, supporting over 4,000 parents across South East London.

Our peer support volunteers are at the heart of what we do, helping us to deliver weekly wellbeing groups, walking groups and one-to-one befriending for new mothers and birthing people. Their dedication makes a real difference, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way.

We are seeking a proactive Senior Peer Support Coordinator to lead on the provision of a high-quality peer support volunteer programme for over 50 volunteers. This role is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer life cycle, from marketing and recruitment, delivery of induction training on perinatal mental health and psychoeducational tools used within Mindful Mums, through to reflective supervision, delivering our CPD programme and finding the right role for each volunteer within the service. 

You will work alongside Senior Project Coordinators and the Service Manager to ensure we deliver on our targets, supporting with programming our wellbeing groups and one-to-one befriending. You will be a skilled people manager and effective communicator, responsible for the line management of staff and ensuring the service is represented at stakeholder and partner community events. You will be a confident facilitator, as some group delivery will be expected.

Like us, you will be passionate and knowledgeable about the role of peer support within recovery-focused perinatal mental health and the NHS Competence Framework for Mental Health Peer Support Workers. You will be experienced in supporting volunteers, providing supervision and acting as a mentor in their professional development. You will be highly organised with experience of project management in a target-driven environment.  An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and highly organised is essential for this role.

What you'll be doing:

The Director of Fundraising is a senior, strategic leadership role responsible for driving significant and sustainable growth in income for MQ, with a target of achieving £10 million annual turnover over the next five years.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the postholder will set and deliver an ambitious, data-led fundraising strategy across philanthropy, trusts and foundations, partnerships and other income streams. They will personally steward high-value relationships while building a high-performing, commercially minded fundraising function capable of supporting MQ’s long-term mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy & Income Growth

• Develop and deliver MQ’s overall fundraising and income generation strategy, aligned to organisational priorities
• Set clear income targets and KPIs across all fundraising streams
• Personally lead and secure six- and seven-figure gifts, grants and contracts
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with major donors, funders and partners
• Ensure excellent stewardship, reporting and donor experience across all income streams

Pipeline, Performance & Data Oversight

• Provide strategic oversight of the fundraising pipeline, ensuring a healthy balance of prospecting, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
• Use data, insight and CRM reporting to track performance, forecast income and manage risk
• Identify income concentration risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Drive continuous improvement in fundraising processes, systems and ways of working

Financial Management & Reporting

• Own the Fundraising budget, including income forecasting, expenditure control and cost-of-fundraising oversight
• Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate income phasing, reporting and financial planning
• Produce regular reports for the CEO, Executive Team and Board on income performance, pipeline health and risks

We are looking for an experienced parks, heritage or cultural attraction professional to provide project management expertise on the prioritisation, planning, development, and delivery of a range of capital projects as part of the regeneration of Crystal Palace Park.

You will have a strong understanding of heritage sites, buildings and landscape, particularly in relation to design, construction and conservation, visitor experience, and accessibility.

New projects will likely include the refurbishment of historic venues such as the Concert Platform, Museum and future phases of the Subway restoration alongside exciting new capital developments aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.

About the role

The Reception Worker is an essential and key role within the Resource Centre, acting as the first point of contact and providing a consistent, familiar and friendly welcome when service users enter the space. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide a high level of customer service in a busy and fast paced environment, to individuals impacted by trauma. 

Main duties 

• To be the lead worker on client reception in the Resource Centre, working with the Resettlement Team and a rota of staff and managers from across the organisation, as well as locum staff, agency staff and volunteers.
• To be the first point of contact for service users and guests accessing the Resource Centre, ensuring they are provided with a high level of customer service.
• To maintain accurate records of who is accessing the service, what services they are utilising, and ensuring that database access notes are kept up to date by liaising proactively with lead workers.
• To manage and de-escalate potential incidents at the client reception area, and challenge inappropriate behavior as needed, with support from colleagues and duty managers.
• To assist with any admin tasks required.
• To ensure that the reception area is operated safely in accordance with health and safety, and GDPR policies.

• Providing legal advice and representation for destitute people seeking asylum at the Asylum Support Tribunal (AST), as well as offering advice to other advisers via ASAP’s second-tier Advice Line.
