The Detention Outreach Caseworker is a full-time post on a 12-month renewable contract, joining a small team at the JRS UK offices in Wapping, working closely with the Detention Outreach Manager.

The JRS UK Detention Outreach project supports individuals who are detained in the Heathrow Immigration Removal Centres (Harmondsworth and Colnbrook). This busy and varied role focuses on combining accompaniment, practical support, and assistance to those in immigration detention, especially those who are most vulnerable and struggle to self-advocate. The Detention Outreach Caseworker will make referrals to solicitors and partner organisations where appropriate and liaise with Immigration Services, detention centre staff and others as needed.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will occasionally support individuals who are released from, but continue to be affected by, immigration detention. Through relationships built across the NGO sector, they will refer individuals to local organisations who can most appropriately assist with reintegration into the community. They will provide in-depth and pro-active support to high-need individuals supported in detention who continue to require long-term accompaniment on release.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will be responsible for managing their own caseload and work closely with the Detention Outreach Manager to identify themes and trends arising from immigration detention to contribute to the organisations wider strategic work. The post-holder should have a good understanding of and empathy with the issues and challenges faced by asylum-seekers and refugees, with particular focus on immigration detention. They will need highly developed listening skills, personal resilience and emotional maturity to respond to the emotional and practical needs of asylum seekers, accompanying them and supporting them to positively progress with their lives. They need to have and maintain an up-to-date knowledge about the immigration and asylum context as it relates to our work in immigration detention.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will be enthusiastic about working in a small faith-based organisation and have a willingness to integrate JRS UK’s ethos of accompaniment in their approach whilst also demonstrating sensitivity in responding to the needs of destitute and detained individuals. About the role

We're looking for an efficient, friendly Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our award-winning charity.  The team is based at our busy community centre from where it offers a range of services from community meals, art classes to gardening services and digital support.  We support older and disabled people living in Fulham, London.  Much of our work is delivered by volunteers, so this post is critical to our service delivery. We are seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Officer who will help sustain and grow the organisation’s income. This involves managing timelines for applications and reports, writing high-quality proposals and impact reports (often in collaboration with colleagues in policy, science, communications, and finance), and researching new funding opportunities. 

The role also includes maintaining strong relationships with existing funders by providing timely updates outside of formal reporting, and leading on the drafting of the organisation’s annual report to clearly communicate achievements and impact.

Key Duties

• Fundraising activity – preparing compelling and bespoke proposals tailored to donor requirements, ensuring effective stewardship of charitable trust and foundation major gifts within CHEM Trust’s portfolio by building relationships and providing on-time reports and updates.
• Working cross-organisationally, to ensure relevant information is obtained from CHEM Trust’ team members in a timely fashion to report to funders in advance of deadlines.
• Timeline management – keeping an accurate track of the necessary reporting and application deadlines and ensuring these are communicated in good time to relevant team members.
• Developing relationships and networking – including excellent donor stewardship to existing funders and using events, meetings, talks and inspirational writing to help charitable trusts learn about CHEM Trust’s work and understand the difference we are making.
• Recording and maintaining accurate funding data, ensuring records are kept and effectively managed and that CHEM Trust’s fundraising team operates within GDPR.
• Good team working - daily interaction with the fundraising team, wider CHEM Trust team, funding partners and others, plus possible interaction with trustees.
• Leading on the writing of the annual report, tailoring it to be a key document that prospective funders can use to get a succinct overview of CHEM Trust’s vision, goals, and achievements.

This pivotal role will be responsible for driving our fundraising efforts, developing relationships, building and managing cross organisational and corporate partnerships, and expanding our network to support and enhance our programmes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, excellent networking abilities, and a passion for our mission. The postholder is key in the delivery of the organisation’s strategic vision and direction.

The core function of the role will be to help lead the organisation as it looks to expand its services and capacity to serve those with learning disabilities.

Over the last few months, CPF has been looking into upcoming tender opportunities and recently finished a feasibility study which has provided recommendations on some of the most viable partnership opportunities and expanded service provisions that could play a vital role in moving forward. These are built around three main priority areas – sustaining and expanding the advocacy service, building long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships with other organisations that result in additional service provisions, and expanding the use of the current premise to create a warm and welcoming space throughout the week and into the evenings.

The Director will be expected to take on some of the current conversations and plans around the three priority areas of the advocacy service, partnerships and creating a warm and welcome space; identifying the most viable way to bring in sustainable funding for these. The Director will be responsible for fundraising and income generation and they will be expected to identify grants and funding opportunities and varied income generation sources for the organisation. They will also develop fundraising strategies, cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors, identify funding, write bids and explore grant opportunities to ensure the charity has the resources to fulfil its mission.

This is a hybrid working position, with the chance to work 2 days a week in a Ronald McDonald House or office (London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester, Southampton or Oxford) 

At Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, keeping families close is at the heart of everything they do. Across 14 Houses nationwide, the charity provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation and vital support for families with a child in hospital, enabling over 530 families per night to support their children when they are needed most. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to design and deliver a major donor strategy that will secure transformational gifts, support capital projects, and build a high-performing Capital Appeal Board. You’ll play a leading role in cultivating and stewarding high-net-worth individuals, shaping compelling cases for support, and driving long-term philanthropic growth.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and deliver a high-value major donor strategy to meet ambitious income targets.
• Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
• Personally solicit significant five- and six-figure gifts.
• Lead on proposals, cases for support and impactful donor reporting.
• Support and develop a Capital Appeal Board to leverage networks and unlock transformational gifts.
• Collaborate across teams to align strategy and inspire confidence at every level.

What we’re looking for:

• A proven track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts from new and existing philanthropic donors.
• Strong experience in donor identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
• Excellent relationship-building, influencing and communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
• Experience supporting or developing appeal boards (desirable).

This role will lead an ambitious team that is empowered to innovate and refresh the community fundraising strategy, making a lasting impact across challenge events, in-memory giving and third-party fundraising. They will also form part of a dedicated leadership team to build visibility and engagement across the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, as well as deepening relationships amongst an established base of high-value community supporters.  

What you’ll do:

• Lead and grow the charity’s community fundraising programme, overseeing an established team of 4 to ensure exceptional supporter experience.
• Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy with clear KPIs, collaborating with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing, Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships and Head of Marketing & Communications to deliver sustained income growth across the Charity. 

• Drive innovation across challenge events, in-memory giving and supporter care, horizon-scanning for new trends, opportunities and propositions to maximise ROI.

• Collaborate with senior colleagues to build visibility and support across the Charity’s partner hospitals.
• Strengthen stewardship and supporter journeys for high-value community supporters, working with philanthropy colleagues to deepen relationships.

What we’re looking for:

• A proven track record of delivering and growing successful community & public fundraising programmes, with a track record of developing new fundraising products to drive income growth.
• Experience of leading, motivating and developing fundraising teams.
• Strong background in strategy development, budgeting and income forecasting.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills across diverse audiences.
• Skilled at developing compelling supporter journeys and excellent stewardship.
• A strong track record of delivery across challenge events, third-party fundraising and in-memory giving.
• Confident in problem-solving, decision-making and balancing short and long-term goals.
