Job description

Help open up opportunity for children and young people who would otherwise miss out on Classics.

Join Classics for All as our Programme Officer and help turn our support for teachers and schools into well-organised, effective programmes that reach young people across the UK.

Classics for All helps teachers bring Classics into UK schools, opening up opportunity for children and young people who would otherwise miss out. We give teachers fully-funded training, resources and ongoing support to introduce and sustain Latin, Ancient Greek, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation.

We’re looking for a highly organised Programme Officer to help make that support happen.

Working at the heart of our Programme team, you’ll help coordinate our day-to-day work with schools across the UK. You’ll respond to enquiries and applications from schools, keep programme information accurate and up to date, support events and activities, and bring together the data, feedback and stories that help us understand who we are reaching and the difference our work is making.

You’ll work closely with our regional coordinators, who work alongside schools to provide training, resources and ongoing support. Your role will help bring that work together nationally, making sure processes run smoothly, information is accurate and schools receive clear and timely support.

This is a practical, varied role for someone who enjoys making things happen: keeping track of detail, communicating clearly, working confidently with data and systems, and spotting ways to make processes work better.

You do not need to have studied Classics to apply. What matters is that you bring strong organisation, attention to detail and communication skills, and share our commitment to opening up opportunity for children and young people.

Why join Classics for All?

You’ll join a small, collaborative and ambitious team at an exciting point in our development. We’re shaping our next organisational strategy and strengthening how we understand and communicate the impact of our work, so there will be opportunities to contribute ideas and help improve how our programmes and systems work.

We offer flexible and hybrid working, generous annual leave, an Employee Assistance Programme and opportunities for learning and development.

We warmly welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly those currently underrepresented within the Classics and Education communities. You do not need a background in Classics to work with us - there will be no Latin test!
