SHINE is a membership organisation offering free services and support to over 14,700 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), and associated conditions.

We currently have 750 members living with NPH and this is growing significantly each month. This role will provide a specific focus on the area of NPH, whilst also supporting wider Shine activities. 

Main purpose of role 

Deliver a high-quality service to and facilitate opportunities for, individuals living with NPH/dementia and their families/carers through Shine membership across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. 

Empower and enable members living with the conditions to lead healthy and happy lives through greater independence, better condition management and by creating links to the Shine community and their local networks. 

Raise awareness of NPH across Health & Social Care professionals and the public. 

Support the planning and delivery of the annual NPH Awareness Week. 

As part of a high performing team, support Shine to be recognised as the number one provider of support for NPH outside of the NHS. 

Promote and support all Shine’s services and activities.

This 21 hours per week role is within our London Borough of Hounslow local service team, reporting to the Local Services Manager, working alongside an experienced team of Dementia Advisers and supported by Volunteers. Volunteer role management is a key responsibility.

You will co-ordinate, organise and facilitate the successful and safe provision of group services delivered in community venues across the borough: Singing for the Brain, Dementia Cafés and a Peer Support Group. 

Our service delivery is both virtual and face to face, with a strong emphasis on community outreach and engagement. We particularly welcome applications from people who are representative of the communities we serve in Hounslow.

This is a home-based role, with frequent travel within the borough. Expenses are paid for travel.

About you

- We are looking for someone with strong organisational and people skills who will help us to expand our reach and hold relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- You will need to demonstrate an understanding of dementia and the impact that it has on people’s lives. You will have the confidence to work independently, facilitating groups of people in community settings and managing volunteers.
- Experience of supporting similar groups, leading and co-ordinating person-centred engagement and activities, is highly desirable. The ability to travel independently within the borough is essential.

This role has a communications focus and involves editing a weekly email newsletter and an intranet. You’ll be the first point of contact for local CPRE staff and volunteers with queries about the work of their local charities. The Minster Centre is a small, friendly organisation and the Reception Manager needs to be an adaptable and flexible person who enjoys teamwork within a continuously evolving environment. Background

The Minster Centre is a registered charity based in Queens Park, London NW6 that trains psychotherapists and counsellors and provides an accessible therapy service. As an accredited higher education organisation, we provide in-person and online courses throughout the week and weekend. The Minster Centre provides a psychotherapy and counselling service to the local community and has a number of rooms that are hired out for therapy, training, and events.

The Reception Manager is a critical and central role at The Minster Centre, providing a welcoming service to students, room hirers, therapy clients and staff members that is efficient and aligned with The Minster Centre’s Ethos. As part of this role, you will provide first-line support to tutors and students as well as undertake administrative duties crucial to the running of the Centre. You will also provide support to other staff members where appropriate.

Job summary

The ideal candidate will have previous administration and front of house experience to help ensure that all building users (students, room hirers and clients) are welcomed, that the building is available and set up for training and therapy services, and that the building is closed and secured at the end of the day. Furthermore, they would be organised, have excellent IT skills and knowledge and, ideally, practice of using Zoom. They will have the ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. In addition, they will be able to work autonomously on various tasks and work well in a team. This is a great opportunity for someone with relevant transferable skills to develop those skills further.

Duties and responsibilities

Oversee and manage the Reception Team

• Ensure Reception is always covered by organising a reception rota that covers absence, holidays, etc.

General management of Reception

• Receive and welcome visitors.
• Co-ordinate access to the building, opening and closing of the building.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Order stationary and other supplies as requested.
• Manage petty cash.
• Keep the reception area tidy.
• Ensure there are adequate supplies of daily refreshments and organise catering for specific events.

Event and training support

• Set up for events and assist with special or evening events when requested.
• Organise and keep track of First Aid and Fire Marshal trainings.

Administration

• Work with the Facilities and Membership Manager to source and organise suppliers to meet the various facility needs of the building.
• Ensure that the building has adequate cleaning by working with the Facilities and Membership Manager in communication with Total Clean.
• Conduct daily spot checks of the building and report any significant problems to Facilities and Membership Manager.
• Undertake small repairs of damaged equipment or fixings.

IT support

• Field/triage general IT Support emails with the IT Team.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues on site.
• Support tutors and office staff with basic Office apps, Moodle, Zoom queries (support and training can be provided).
• Provide IT support for tutors facilitating Zoom teaching sessions including troubleshooting.
• Manage tutor Zoom accounts.
• Schedule Zoom sessions.

Student support and progression 

• Ensure that students are enrolled on courses and set up on systems accurately.
• Manage the re-enrolment process between academic years. 
• Oversee the recording of student progression. 
• Liaise with and support the Operations Team in organising the annual Graduation event and ensuring all eligible students receive timely information.

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) gives old buildings a future. We help people to look after old buildings, making them fit for the future while keeping their historic character. We do this through casework, technical research and advice, education and training, awards, outreach and events across the UK and Ireland.

The Fundraising and Legacies Officer is a key role within the Society which will identify potential grant giving bodies, write and submit bids, and manage grant reporting and claims from a range of sources, including Statutory funders, Trusts and Foundations, individual and legacy donors. Cancer Research UK is the most trusted provider of cancer information in the UK and you will be responsible for helping steer what we say and how we say it, ensuring our health information is evidence based, accessible and credible.

What will I be doing?

• Developing a sound knowledge base of key research relevant to cancer risk, prevention, early diagnosis and screening

• Taking the lead on appraising and critiquing evidence for specific topic areas, including contributing to team discussions and written summaries for these topics

• Producing internal evidence summaries/briefings on topics related to cancer risk, prevention, screening and early diagnosis, as required

• Producing accurate, engaging and enabling content on cancer risk, prevention, early diagnosis and screening for our audiences through a range of channels, including leaflets, newsletters, websites, blogs and social media

• Developing an understanding of the key audiences for cancer risk, prevention, screening and early diagnosis information and how to address inequalities in people's ability to access, interpret and act upon health information

About Parentkind

As one of the largest federated charities in the UK, with arguably greater reach into the lives of families and educational settings than any other non-Government organisation, Parentkind is on a bold and urgent mission: to support, champion, and empower parents to be partners in their children’s education and wellbeing. 

Although best known for our support of almost 24,000 Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs), Parent Councils, and Schools, helping them build strong school communities whilst they raise approaching £140 million each year to enhance children’s education, our work stretches far beyond the school gates. Parentkind is building a powerful movement that recognises parental engagement not as a nicety, but a necessity.

Supporting parents beyond the school gate

In recent years, families have faced a series of compounding challenges: the cost-of-living crisis, rising child poverty, and deepening educational inequality. These pressures have left many parents struggling to meet basic needs—let alone feel confident engaging in their child’s learning journey.  Parentkind has responded to this moment with compassion, agility and purpose, through a series of transformative campaigns, resources, and partnerships. 

Our No Cold Child initiative with FatFace stepped in to address a stark statistic: over 150,000 children in the UK do not own a winter coat due to poverty. Through our trusted relationships with schools we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Winning the Business Charity Awards ‘Fashion & Retail’ Award, and shortlisted for two further awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.

The All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.Furthermore, helping attract children into school on a day which often sees struggling parents keep their children at home.

Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.

We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. These resources, developed in consultation with experts and rooted in lived parent experience, equip families to feel informed and empowered, no matter what challenges arise.

Our direct support of schools

Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allowed shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. This campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools during the past twelve months, supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.

In April, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. It is a practical and inspiring tool to drive long-term change in the sector and offers a roadmap for schools wanting to strengthen their community.

Our focus on Policy & Research

Our work is grounded in evidence. Since 2023, we have conducted the UK’s largest annual parent survey: the National Parent Survey. With approaching 6,000 participants providing 130,000 bits of data to provide invaluable insights into the struggles, concerns, hopes and fears of parents. The findings are fed directly into government consultations and have already informed national debates on school funding, attendance, mental health support, SEND provision, and curriculum reform.

In each of the past two years the number of policymakers, educators, parents and researchers accessing the National Parent Survey exceeded seven thousand, and the survey featured in more than two hundred media outlets each year.Excitingly, the Times & Sunday Times are partnering with Parentkind to raise the profile even further in September 2025 and the survey will be launched at a lighthouse event featuring the Secretary of State for Education (Bridget Phillipson), the Ofsted Chief Inspector of Schools (Sir Martyn Oliver), the CEO of Mumsnet (Justine Roberts), the Children’s Commissioner (Dame Rachel De Souza), and our own Chief Executive (Jason Elsom). 

In addition to the National Parent Survey, Parentkind undertakes representative polling of parents throughout the year on a variety of important topics, which increasingly find exposure in the media and policy discussion.

Parentkind provides the secretariat for the Westminster APPG for Parents and the Stormont APG for Parental Participation in Education. Two very successful parliamentary groups bringing together policymakers and a variety of stakeholders to consider the challenges faced by parents and act as a voice for them through a variety of policymakers.

Our Media Engagement

Since becoming recognised as the UK’s largest parent charity, with likely more groups and frontline volunteers than the Scouts or Girlguiding, Parentkind has gained increasing prominence in the media.Beyond the reach of the National Parent Survey and our regular polling, Parentkind receives frequent requests for quotes of reflection and input by media in relation to their journalism and from Government and non-Government entities in support of policy announcements.

Beyond this, the Parentkind community of volunteers and PTAs share local or regional media announcements of their own.Whether or not it celebrating the completion of large projects they have invested countless hours and thousands of pounds into realising, or the community event they have worked into the night to deliver for their school communities.

It will be your role to take this much further, gaining increasing exposure for the work of Parentkind, its community, and parents more broadly.

The role will involve:

· Promoting our parent polling data and work across social media platforms with eye catching content. 

· Providing comment on topical issues for social media so that we are part of the conversation. 

· Build the right relationships to dramatically increase the number of of media organisations seeking input and thought leadership from Parentkind.

· Build relationships with broadcast media so we get asked to appear on broadcast media more often. There’s a chance for you to be a talking head too.

· Help to draft parent polls and reports with a focus on compelling questions that will hit the front page. We need a brilliant writer, able to turn facts and figures into engaging narratives with bold headlines and strong messages that catch the eye. Boring writers need not apply…

· Draft eye catching press releases with bold headlines and a compelling narrative to promote the work we do across the charity. You’ll also place the press releases with national journalists leading to high profile coverage.

· Support the authoring of articles, op-eds and blog posts by members of the Executive Leadership Team.

· Be responsible for media monitoring, measuring our media hits, and reporting on coverage and interesting themes for the Executive Leadership.

Your mission is to massively increase our online, in print and social media presence to make us the highest profile parent charity in the UK. We don’t need you to be an education expert, we need someone to get us on the front page.

We have a huge amount of data on what parents think and we need you to get it seen. This is a great job for someone who wants to grab hold of a “comms” function and make it their own.

Impatience Earth is a non-profit climate philanthropy consultancy founded in 2020 with a mission to educate, challenge and inspire wealth holders to take bolder funding decisions to address the climate emergency.

We have a role available for someone to join our small but mighty team to deliver high-level support to our CEO and Deputy CEO, helping them achieve their strategic priorities by managing their calendar and emails, supporting them with prioritisation of tasks and managing key projects. A smaller part of the role will be to provide support as a Team Manager, which will entail coordinating team meetings and away days, and supporting with the administration of projects.

We are looking for a detailed-oriented, highly organised and proactive individual who loves the idea of helping fast-paced, ambitious organisations work more smoothly and effectively. You should be able to manage multiple priorities, work well both independently and within a team, and bring a solutions-focused approach to challenges. We are looking for someone who already has experience of working as an EA with senior leaders. 

Specifically, you will be supporting with tasks such as:

• Managing the CEO and Deputy CEO’s emails and calendars

• Supporting the CEOs to manage projects and prioritise tasks

• Creating meeting agendas and capturing minutes and action items

• Creating and sending invoices 

• Arranging travel and any reimbursements 

• Booking meeting rooms at London co-working space 

• Arranging team away days

Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) is a UK charity supporting grassroots conservation leaders across the Global South. Through project funding (Awards), training, and media profile, we support local solutions to the planet’s most pressing conservation challenges. Our winners are courageous changemakers, working alongside communities to save species and protect ecosystems. Established in 1993, we have channeled £24 million to +220 conservation leaders in 80 countries, benefitting wildlife, landscapes, and people. We fund mainly in Africa, Asia and Latin America where income is often hardest to raise and can have the biggest impact for people and biodiversity. WFN is governed by a committed trustee board. Our team is dynamic, passionate about our mission, and ambitious. The charity benefits from high profile support from Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, and Ambassador Sir David Attenborough.

Our funding is raised each year, mainly from family trusts and foundations, as well as from individuals, corporates, and international NGOs, with a current annual income of around £2.6m/year. We raise funds based on winner need, and in the coming years are seeking to steadily grow what we provide in support to winners, and so are bolstering the capacity of our team in line with this ambition. 

The Opportunity

We are looking for a diligent and data-minded Grants Assistant to join our small and dynamic team. This new role will support the WFN grants team in monitoring and evaluating active grants, analysing and assessing the charity’s impact, and in the smooth running of our grants programmes. This is an entry level role, ideal for a candidate looking to put their conservation expertise into practice, and to support impactful grassroots conservation work around the world.

The Grants Assistant will support the Head of Grants and Grants and Network Manager in WFN’s application and review processes, grant management, and impact evaluation work, and will support the flow of information about the work our winners are doing on the ground to the rest of the WFN team. GRANTS ASSISTANT - PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Essential:

· MSc or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. Conservation/ Zoology/ Environmental Science)

· Demonstrable understanding of grassroots conservation projects, issues and solutions (ideally in Asia, Africa, Latin America)

· Data-minded and analytical, with solid understanding of evaluation methods and trends

· Strong writing skills with ability to turn technical reports and language into accessible content for a lay audience

· Efficient and organised, with high attention to detail and ability to manage logistics

· Proficient and comfortable using databases

· Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint

· Flexible ‘can do’ approach and will flourish in a small team and charity environment

About the role:

At LaunchPad, our 14-bed assessment hub in Newham, we support people coming directly off the street; individuals facing multiple barriers such as mental health challenges, substance use and physical health needs. This is more than just a place of safety; it’s a vital starting point for people to rebuild their lives. Clients stay with us for up to 16 weeks, during which time we provide intensive, tailored support to help them access health services, stabilise their situation, and move forward into appropriate long-term accommodation. As a Project Worker Complex Needs, you’ll hold a caseload of up to five clients, giving you the time and space to build meaningful relationships and deliver focused, high-impact support.

Working alongside the Service Manager and a dynamic, passionate team, you’ll be part of a service that plays a crucial role in reducing street homelessness across Newham. Your work will be varied and purposeful; liaising with professionals across the borough, promoting social inclusion, helping to prevent re-offending and guiding clients towards greater independence. You’ll be at the forefront of one of Single Homeless Project's (SHP) Rough Sleeping Services, designed for those facing some of the greatest challenges in our society.
