We need a Chief Executive who sees fundraising at the heart of the charity, and as storytelling with a purpose. Securing significant income through trust and statutory bids sits at the heart of this role, and so does the expertise in demonstrating impact. Sharp, compelling reporting that shows funders and supporters exactly what their money makes possible.

We're looking for someone who can shape a communications and brand presence that matches the strength of our reputation, someone with experience in setting direction for external-facing content, comfortable working with fractional expertise to keep our voice consistent and professional, and just as comfortable being the face of that voice themselves. You'll be equally at home talking research priorities with an ophthalmologist as you are meeting a family with an unexpected diagnosis.

This is a hands-on role in a lean, ambitious organisation. You'll hold real responsibility for strategy, governance and our external profile, working closely with a supportive Board of Trustees, but you'll also be close enough to the work to take ownership of the insight and data that prove it's working. We want to hear from you if the idea of taking real ownership of all aspects of running a charity appeals to you, if you are a self starter with the skills to manage a wide range of projects and ideas.

You do not need to have been a Chief Executive before. What you do need is real sector experience, credibility with funders and trustees, and the drive to turn ambition into a deliverable plan. We’re the UK fire family’s charity, providing timely clinical care and wellbeing support to members of the UK’s fire services and their families, helping them to adapt to physical, emotional and social challenges, to adapt to conditions, injuries and illness, and to transition to life after service.

We are looking for a relationship-driven fundraising professional to take on this varied role, to support engagement across Fire and Rescue Services in Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

You will have flexibility to plan and manage your workload in line with the strategy you develop for your region. You will build strong partnerships across fire stations, control rooms, training programmes and corporate networks. Your focus will be to grow sustainable income by increased engagement with Fire and Rescue Service personnel, volunteers, and the wider community.

You will work collaboratively with internal teams, volunteers, and key stakeholders to identify and maximise fundraising opportunities, support local committees, and deliver impactful campaigns. The role also involves supporting volunteers, analysing performance against targets, and ensuring all fundraising activity meets best practice and compliance standards.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will manage relationships, deliver engagement plans, and contribute to raising awareness of the charity’s services—helping to make a real difference to the Fire and Rescue community.

This role is part time at 22.5 hours per week (average), there will be the occasional evenings and weekends required, and we can discuss flexible options.

Actual salary is £23,402.04 per year, with an additional £3,400 per year car allowance paid monthly (terms and conditions apply).

Lead on the development of fundraising support to our 42 cathedrals. A test-and-learn role, with a discovery phase, pilot delivery and the strategic development of programmes, resources and training that are proven to grow fundraised income.

Description

This role is to develop the fundraising support we offer our 42 cathedrals. Church of England cathedrals play a uniquely significant role in national, civic and spiritual life, serving first and foremost as centres of Christian worship and the seat of the bishop, but also as some of the country's most important cultural and community institutions. They act as focal points for diocesan life and as places where people gather for major moments of public celebration and grief, while also contributing extensively to education, music, heritage, tourism and local economies. Their scale, history and openness mean they attract millions of visitors, many of whom are not regular churchgoers, offering space for reflection, creativity and engagement with the Christian story.

However, this breadth of purpose brings significant challenges: cathedrals must balance worship with growing expectations as civic and cultural venues, operate in an increasingly secular and diverse society, and maintain complex historic buildings with limited and often uncertain funding. With many facing structural financial deficits and high costs for maintenance and staffing, alongside reliance on fundraising, grants and visitor income, their long-term sustainability depends on improving and expanding their fundraising activity and successfully developing new income streams while safeguarding their core mission and heritage.

This role is deliberately designed as a test-and-learn function. Its future scope and resourcing will be shaped by the evidence generated through its work. There is a clear expectation that, subject to demonstrated impact, this role will contribute to the development of a sustainable and appropriately resourced model of fundraising support for cathedrals across the Church of England.

This role is a three year fixed term contract.

Responsibilities

The Head of Cathedral Fundraising Development is a newly established role within the Giving Directorate and working alongside the B&C team, responsible for strengthening and developing fundraising capacity across the 42 mainland cathedrals of the Church of England. This role is funded for an initial 3-year period, and there is an expectation this work will grow and develop during this period should the audit and piloting of support in the first twelve months identify the need for ongoing support.

Reporting to the Director of Giving (who will line manage you, agree your work plans and development, and who you will be responsible to for the successful delivery of the agreed work plans) and also accountable to the Director of Bishoprics & Cathedrals (to ensure the work meets the needs of the Bishoprics & Cathedrals department, and aligns with their various work streams), this role will lead a programme of discovery, pilot delivery, and strategic development to determine the most effective models of fundraising support for cathedrals. The postholder will work closely with cathedral leaders, development teams, and national colleagues to build confidence, test approaches, and develop scalable solutions grounded in demonstrable impact. This testing of approaches will involve engaging with, and supporting, cathedrals in their fundraising approaches to high net worth individuals, grant making trusts and others, so that tangible evidence of impact can be seen.

Strategic Development

• Lead a structured audit of fundraising capacity, resources, and opportunities across the cathedral network
• Analyse findings to identify strategic priorities, gaps, and opportunities for development
• Develop a compelling vision and roadmap for national cathedral fundraising support

Pilot Design and Delivery

• Assimilate existing data from cathedrals, the NCIs and others to help shape fundraising pilots so they align business needs with the wider mission of cathedrals
• Design and implement a range of pilot initiatives to test different models of fundraising support (e.g. advisory, shared services, training, or targeted interventions) and to work with a small number of cathedrals to seize immediate opportunities
• Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of pilots, using both qualitative and quantitative measures
• Iterate and refine approaches based on evidence and learning

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build strong, trusted relationships with cathedral Deans, Development Directors, Chapters, and senior lay leaders
• Work collaboratively to understand local context and tailor support accordingly

• Ensure regular visits to cathedrals to develop relationships and build credibility

Working arrangements

This is 12 month fixed term contract.

This is a field-based role covering the UK. You'll need to live in England or be able to relocate to this region. This role requires regular travel within England, and occasional travel to other parts of the UK. A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Purpose of the role: 

As a Kinship Family Worker for Kinship Reach, you will deliver this online programme to families in your commissioned area. You will provide virtual one-to-one support to kinship carers and their families to help them become resilient and informed, with a strong support network to help them care for the children in their care.

Key responsibilities:

One-to-one support
Provide up to 6 one-to-one support sessions bespoke to the kinship carers and their families over a three-month intervention, working within the Kinship Reach delivery model. This may include, but is not limited to:

• Signposting or referring to relevant national and local services.
• Providing practical and emotional support to kinship carers.
• Liaising with other professionals and organisations.
• Making referrals to other Kinship services such as Advice, Someone Like Me, Peer-to-Peer.
• Providing support for carers to secure grants from local and national funders.
• Set goals for change following Kinship Reach processes, in partnership with the kinship carer.
• Monitor, review and revise these goals to ensure carers are on track and goals remain relevant.

Peer group facilitation and management

Kinship delivers virtual peer support groups which carers from Kinship’s programmes can access, coordinated by Senior Kinship Family Worker(s). This role could include:

• Developing existing groups and setting up new groups as required.
• Working closely with Kinship’s peer-to-peer service where appropriate.
• Collaborating with kinship carers, the local authority, and community partners to set up virtual and in-person peer support groups.
• Planning, preparing, facilitating virtual and in-person peer support groups.
• Promoting groups in the area you are delivering in to kinship carers and organisations who work with them, including contributing to the creation of promotional materials.

Participation

• Recruit kinship carers as volunteers to lead and support the development of virtual peer support groups.

About the Role 

This is a strategic, hands-on opportunity to lead our fundraising activity, drive sustainable income growth and position Metabolic Support as the leading international patient advocacy group for IMDs. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you'll shape and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy, build relationships with trusts, foundations, corporates and major donors, and work across our small, agile team to embed fundraising principles into everything we do. RIVET is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven fundraiser to grow, steward, and activate a community of ~100 donors, focused on high-net-worth individuals and family foundations. As we scale towards a future powered by Gen Z, RIVET’s philanthropic community plays a critical role in funding, advising, and growing this movement. 

The Director of Philanthropy leads RIVET’s fundraising and donor engagement strategy - responsible for securing significant philanthropic investment while stewarding a highly engaged network of families and individuals. Working closely with the CEO, Impact, and Marketing teams, you will lead on frontline fundraising and manage a robust donor pool to ensure members feel deeply connected to RIVET’s mission, people, and impact. This is a hands-on role for someone who is excited to shape a global philanthropic community. RIVET currently has four offerings: Leadership Council (for families), Youth Impact Council (designed for individuals), Youth Impact Fund (for family foundations), and Social Innovator Accelerator (for firms).

This new, evolved role will focus on three work streams:

1. Drive philanthropic revenue: Lead frontline fundraising across the organization by identifying and developing a donor pipeline, moving prospects through the cultivation cycle, and closing gifts.

About the opportunity 
 

You will help drive the quality and impact of our key stage 2 (KS2), key stage 3 (KS3) and key stage 4 (KS4) English tutoring programmes through improving our English resources. You will create training materials and provide advice and support to our volunteers and our (mostly) non-teaching staff members who manage these volunteer tutors day to day. About The Role

We are recruiting for a Media Manager to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week, on a permanent contract. This is a home-based role, with occasional travel required for in-person team meetings and events.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to join our award-winning and ambitious National Media Team, to build on our success so far in making dementia a priority.

As Media Manager you will help deliver some of the biggest moments in Alzheimer’s Society’s calendar, working closely with large parts of the organisation, including our regional, celebrity, social media and research communications colleagues, to inform, inspire and engage our audiences.

You will line manage and support a Media Officer to deliver high quality and impactful national media coverage aligned to organisational priorities. About you

About Adolescent Health Study

The Adolescent Health Study (AHS) is an ambitious new UKRI-funded initiative to establish a prospective, longitudinal population study that will generate a globally leading open science data platform and research resource. AHS aims to recruit at least 100,000 young people from across the UK and to follow their mental and physical health and wellbeing over at least 10 years. It plans to collect data through questions and measures; to obtain bio-samples for a wide range of genomic and other high-throughput assays; and to capture linked data relevant to health and wellbeing from participants’ health, education and other administrative records. There will be a strong emphasis on engaging with and involving young people, schools, parents and other relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the study, as well as on including young people that represent as wide as possible a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. AHS will focus on enabling a wide range of research, including studies of the critical biological and social developments that occur during the transition from childhood to adulthood and the determinants of both mental and physical health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults.

 

Purpose of the post

The administrative coordinator will play a key role in providing administrative, coordination and financial support across AHS. The role focuses on managing core systems, inboxes and documents, ensuring information is accurate, accessible and compliant. Acting as a central point for organisation, the postholder will coordinate meetings, support teams with routine administrative tasks, and contribute to smooth financial processes. They will help maintain effective workflows in a virtual environment, escalating issues as needed to keep daily operations running efficiently.

Main responsibilities

 Administration and systems management

• Manage AHS central inbox(es) and escalate matters to the business administrator and business operations team as appropriate
• Provide day-to-day administrative support including preparing, filing, archiving and retrieving documents
• Manage and update shared digital platforms, databases and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage administrative functions such as task tracking in a fully virtual environment

Team coordination and support

• Coordinate in-person, hybrid and virtual meetings and workshops, including scheduling and logistics, for AHS team members and external parties as required
• Provide key administrative support during meetings, including business and study meeting minutes as required

Finance delivery and support

• Support invoice processing, including maintaining accurate records
• Prepare payment requests and documentation in line with internal processes
• Maintain up-to-date financial administration files across shared systems

Operational delivery and implementation

• Provide hands-on support to teams and managers in rolling out new tools, systems and operational processes that are critical for the success of the longitudinal study
• Support the smooth, day-to-day running of business operations, ensuring tasks and processes are completed efficiently
• Identify operational issues or bottlenecks, propose practical solutions where appropriate, and escalate matters to the relevant members of the AHS team

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential criteria

• Qualified to A level or vocational qualifications, or equivalent, plus some experience in a relevant role
• Experience of working in an administrative role for a hybrid or virtual organisation, preferably a charity or small-to-medium (SME) organisation
• Experience of planning and delivering the logistics to in-person, hybrid and virtual meetings for 10+ team members across the UK
• Experience of financial administration
• Able to manage information electronically through databases and spreadsheets
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the proven ability to prioritise, at times under pressure, produce accurate work to deadlines

Our Development Manager will help us to bring in resources so that we can continue share our high-quality, specialist work as far as we can.
