DFN Project SEARCH offer an evidence-based supported internship model which takes place entirely in the workplace.  The programmes provide continuous support to young adults with a learning disability, and autistic people who are aged between 16 – 24 with an Education Health and Care Plan, or equivalent, in their final year of education.

We are looking for a Finance Officer at Cruse Bereavement Support. You will assist the Finance Team in maintaining accurate financial records of the charity. The work will involve processing sales orders and invoices, customer receipts and credit control. CAP sets up and supports local partnerships that aim to reduce alcohol harm in children and young people, improve their health and well-being and enhance their communities. Our mission is to create an alcohol-free childhood for all children and young people.

Role Overview

The successful applicant will have a track record of building effective partnerships, the people and communication skills to involve and engage a wide range of local stakeholders and the leadership and project management skills to support projects through each phase of their lifecycle including baseline evaluation, action plan delivery, post intervention evaluation and maintenance/sustainment. After a short familiarisation period the successful applicant will be expected to oversee fast-track development of new CAPs in priority areas and take responsibility for all aspects of their management with minimal supervision.

A key requisite of the role will be the ability to forge effective public/private sector partnerships between statutory agencies, schools, youth charities and retailers following the CAP model and evaluation framework. The successful applicant may come from a police, public health, education, local authority or other relevant background.

Key Responsibilities

· Proactively identify opportunities for new CAPs and facilitate set up of new CAPs in priority areas.

· Ensure that all new CAP projects carry out appropriate and timely interventions and evaluate all activity in line with the CAP evaluation toolkit – including a baseline and post intervention evaluation.

DARO exists to support The University of Birmingham's academic and student community by engaging, inspiring, and celebrating alumni, individuals, and charitable funders who give their money, time, and networks to support the University’s strategic priorities. The Office, which is comprised of five teams, is focused on fundraising and volunteering from alumni, organisations and individuals who are passionate about changing lives, through funding various research projects, supporting student bursaries, mentoring students, and providing internships, as well as providing a versatile programme of engagement opportunities for our global alumni community.

The Events and Community Manager for our Mass Fundraising Team will focus and lead on:

1. New product development and innovation

2. Creating marketing plans to inspire and motive supporters to engage with RNID

3. Ensuring all RNID events and community supporters are receiving exceptional stewardship

You will be responsible for managing the events and community portfolio at RNID, constantly reviewing and optimising products whilst thinking of new ways to attract supporters to our cause.

You will: 

1. Work with the Head of Mass Fundraising to develop and deliver the events and community fundraising strategy, and to budget and report on income and expenditure

2. Lead on the delivery of our third-party challenge events

3. Lead on new product development for events and community products

4. To proactively engage, source, secure and manage community fundraising relationships with local groups, clubs, organisations, school and individuals

5. To work with colleagues across RNID to maximise fundraising opportunities in the community 

You will be an experienced events and community fundraiser with the ability to motivate and inspire supporters to fundraise for RNID. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating all events and community products.

You will have a natural ability to build excellent relationships especially with supporters, colleagues and suppliers. You’ll be a strong team player who is comfortable leading projects, ensuring clear and regular communication with project team members.

You will be responsible for managing the events and community income budget of £250k, which has ambitious plans for the next five years. You will put forward business cases to test and trial new products to add to our portfolio. You’ll work closely with the Marcomms team on marketing plans and with the Mass Fundraising Officer to implement multi-channel stewardship plans for our events and community supporters.

About the role

We are excited to recruit a Community Organiser for our East Oxford Parent Power project. This role offers a meaningful, paid professional development opportunity. The Brilliant Club work in partnership with Oxford Brookes University to engage with parents in East Oxford.

Parent Power supports parents/carers to develop skills in community organising and expertise in supporting their child to access higher education. The project empowers parents/carers to make change in their children’s future and ensure that they have a fair chance in education and their future careers.

The Community Organiser will:

• Support local pupils from underrepresented backgrounds by empowering their parent/carers to become higher education experts.
• Receive community organising training from Citizens UK and develop transferable skills.
• Join a nationwide community of community organisers making a significant impact on university access.

We are looking for a motivated person to take on the role of Clerk and Administrator. We wish to appoint a diligent, well-organised person who has enthusiasm, understanding and a commitment to the Foundation and its aims.

The Foundation is an education charity based in Hartlebury, Worcestershire with an honourable history. Having its roots in the Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School founded in the 16th century, it became the ‘Queen Elizabeth 1 Foundation’ charity in 1987. The charity owns and derives income from the original ‘Queen Elizabeth 1 Grammar School’ premises in Hartlebury and from its investment portfolio.

It’s key purpose is to benefit local schools and individuals by making financial awards to enhance and support educational opportunities. It seeks and considers applications from local schools or from individual pupils or students resident in the local area. We are committed to this aim and to developing our grant-making. The Foundation’s area of benefit is ‘the ancient parish of Hartlebury’, which is slightly larger than the current parish of Hartlebury.

The post will involve attending board meetings, taking and producing accurate minutes, and undertaking the accompanying administrative tasks including day-to-day banking and accounting. You will need to be able to keep well-ordered files & documents, be numerate and literate, with good typing skills, and it is essential you are fully competent using Word, Excel and Xero (or similar) accounting software.

In-person board meetings, usually six per year, take place at the Parish Hall in Hartlebury in alternate months; they are usually held from 5.30 – 7.30 p.m. Much of the working time for the role will be home-based and there is liable to be a need to store some administrative papers & documents securely in your home. There is also likely to be some written and/or phone contact with schools and individuals who make applications to the charity. You will co-ordinate liaison with the Foundation’s existing property, rent-collection and legal consultants.

The Foundation is in an important period of development, expanding its profile and its grant-making process, upgrading its online presence and moving to internet banking. The clerk’s role will be an exciting part of all these.

The Head of Operations and Projects will oversee the infrastructure of our charity. This position will involve fostering a motivated and engaged volunteer base, strategic oversight of our BUBR Africa initiative and conducting impact analysis of our activations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community engagement, skilled in project management and possess a strong analytical mindset.
