Are you the right person for the job?

· Strategic leadership experience and experience of working with a board

· Education to degree level or hold a relevant Level 5 qualification in a relevant field

· Significant experience in managing the finances of multi-million-pound organisations and managing budgets, with a proven track record of good stewardship and delivering surpluses

· Substantial experience in income generation through fundraising and the new business process with historic success in procurement and pricing contracts

· Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and inspire others effectively

· Awareness of the needs of young homeless people and vulnerable adults, and knowledge of safeguarding processes

· Experience leading an organisation through change and of addressing HR related and employee relations matters effectively

What will your role look like?

You will provide strategic leadership and direction to enable the CAYSH group to achieve its mission – to provide a safe home and better futures for young single homeless people and vulnerable adults.

Working in collaboration with the Board of Trustees/Directors and the leadership team, you will ensure the effective operational performance and success. The role is pivotal in continued growth and sustainability of the organisation and to improve the lives of our service users.

Main Responsibilities

· Drive the values of the CAYSH Group, raise its profile and develop a motivated and high performing workforce which is responsive to the needs of service users

· Be responsible for compliance with the organisation’s legal and regulatory duties

· In collaboration with the board, develop and implement strategic and business plans

· Oversee the CAYSH Group’s budgeting process and monitor financial performance

· Proactively grow income by developing business opportunities and securing donations

· Oversee the tender process with the Executive team, directing the acquisition of new business with governmental and charitable organisations and local authorities

· Support the leadership team to achieve their objectives in the areas of business development, operations, financial management, business support and compliance and HR, ensuring that outcomes for service users are at the heart of all we achieve

· Be a champion for equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring that these principles are integrated into all aspects of the CAYSH Group and that its HR and employment processes match the values and ethos of the organisation

· Lead in creating an engaging and positive culture that inspires and motivates our passionate and hard-working team

The role of the Support Officer within the Money Advice Team is to support clients who contact the office by email or telephone, offering them initial advice and support with welfare benefits, money management and emergency food, and referring to other organisations.  In addition, the role involves general administrative tasks such as responding to emails and messages, creating client records, and arranging appointments with Advisers.

Responsibilities and Duties 

Advice work and support 

• Triage people referred to the foodbank via Scottish Welfare Fund, and those who contact EFP directly, including information gathering, benefit checks, referrals for energy support and emergency food 

• Signpost people to external agencies and partner organisations 

• Create client records using Advice Pro, including verifying client information for accuracy and make amendments when necessary, ensuring people are aware of how their data is stored and used (GDPR) 

• Form completion with clients – for example Social Welfare Fund crisis and community grants 

• Attend training relevant to the post 

Admin support 

• Create debt packs to be sent to people, including creating template letters and ensuring documents are accurate and up to date and completion of income and expenditure forms 

• Scan and record letters received for advisers ensuring information is stored securely on Advice Pro

• Take minutes at team meetings 

• Collate statistical data

• Collate case studies of client success stories 

Other duties 

• Adhere to the policies and procedures of Edinburgh Food Project 

• Any other reasonable tasks as requested by the senior management team 

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. You should be exceptionally well organised and have excellent partnership management skills.

Salary: £37,024 - £41,600

New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. You’ll also be responsible for coordinating our weekly rota, line managing the team, overseeing our Locums, Students and Volunteers programme, supporting with donations and day centre stock, and delivering staff training . You should be passionate about supporting young people who are unsafe or facing homelessness, be able to motivate a multi-disciplinary team of staff and have the energy to problem solve in a fast-paced environment on a daily basis. 

Salary: £37,024 - £41,600

About Us

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity is looking for dynamic, passionate and motivated Support and Progression Officers that can provide quality support to our young people to join our Barnet Foyer service in Cricklewood. We help young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Together with our partners, we support thousands of homeless young people each year.

The service accommodates 24 single young people, usually, between the ages of 16 and 21. Young people stay at the service for up to 2 years before moving to more permanent accommodation. Barnet Service is quite a large building and offers a number of additional resources including a fully equipped gym. Barnet is a diversified environment with young people and colleagues from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and the service and other stakeholders celebrate and maximize the opportunities that diversity present.

This role involves working 37.5 hours per week on a rota Monday to Friday (not including Bank Holidays). All staff must be available to work the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. You will be working with a team of three other Support and Progression Officers and the manager. Two staff members work together for each shift.

In this role you will:

• Work face to face with young people and support them to achieve their goals and independence.
• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest possible standards of accommodation
• Undertake initial and ongoing needs/risk assessments for young people. Be able to identify safeguarding risks and understand how to escalate any concerns
• Manage your own caseload of young people, person centred support in line with their needs and aspirations
• Liaise with multiple agencies to ensure effective communication across the service and externally including social work teams, YOS, health and other statutory services and voluntary agencies
• Make internal and external referrals to a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies for specialist support and Employment and Training opportunities
• Support young people to manage their rent accounts through liaison with the DWP, Social Services CenterPoint’s rent team and building their own personal budgeting skills

To support our recent growth, we are recruiting for a new part time Finance Officer to help us effectively manage our day-to-day financial processes and provide financial and administrative support to our growing team of staff and volunteers.

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, your responsibilities will include the processing of purchase invoices and expenses, raising of contract invoices, assisting with budgets and forecasts and supporting our Income Generation team with their finance needs. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to various finance projects and strategic initiatives.

It is essential that you have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, good communication abilities, and a proactive attitude towards assisting with diverse finance tasks. Ideally you will possess a formal accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping. This is a home-based role but may require occasional travel around the UK including overnight stays.

Role overview

The Project Support Officer will support our Programmes Team with activity related to project delivery while members of the team are on maternity leave. The postholder will be responsible for completing a variety of project delivery tasks that support the smooth running of our online mentoring. The JET team support with young people to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education.

In this role, you will work with young people 1-1, holding small caseloads, as well as working with young people in groups and delivering employment or education-focussed sessions on a regular basis.

As part of our service, we also aim to deliver a weekly group conversation class for young people looking to improve their spoken English, many of whom are young refugees and asylum seekers. While you will work with all young people in the service and support regularly with our day centre delivery, this role will focus on expanding our JET service to young refugees and asylum seekers, developing specialist networks and partnerships, and pathways to appropriate opportunities.

About the PVRI
We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) - a serious condition that can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting, and light-headedness. PVD can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood.

Our aim is to improve clinical care, education, and PVD research. To do this, we bring together an international network of thousands of clinicians, scientists, academics, and industry partners supported by our small team based in Bermondsey, London. Together, we deliver conferences, e-learning, and an academic journal, raise awareness of PVD, and encourage collaboration in research.

We are seeking a Marketing Officer to help grow and service the charity's international membership, increase the value of our membership offer, increase our income, and deliver our e-learning programmes. You’ll help ensure our members are informed about the latest developments and learning opportunities, and they’re valued for their contributions to the PVRI. No two days are the same. One day, you might be writing content for our website and social media channels, and the next, you might be welcoming respected speakers and attendees from over 30 countries to our scientific webinar.

We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. You’ll need to create successful marketing plans and grow our membership. You will also bring excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate high-quality webinars.

The Role (30hrs per week)

· To provide day to day management and supervision of our remote Support Team, providing guidance and support to deliver appropriate information and advice for our mums and families.

· Provide casework support to Mummy’s Star families.

· Work closely with the Operations Manager to implement consistent processes and ensure appropriate training and development for the Support Team.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the post holder will manage the Support Team at Mummy’s Star. More specifically you will be responsible for:

Support Team Management (50%)

• Provide quality support, leadership, development and line management
• Oversee the delivery of individual, tailored support for families

· Regular review and assessment of caseload including co-ordinating weekly caseload meetings and management of new grant application flow to Trustees.

· Work with the support team to regularly monitor, evaluate and report on the support provided by Mummy’s Star.

· Act as Lead Professional in complex cases if required.

· Working with the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure the wider team has appropriate resources and support around wellbeing

· Complying with the charity’s administration, monitoring and financial systems

· Working in close partnership with health care professionals, charities, and other key stakeholders

· Work with the Operations Manager to develop new engagement tools for families to improve accessibility.

· Assist the team to co-ordinate the Ask the Expert events and other resources

· Contribute to, and support the development of, the charity locally, regionally, and nationally

Information and Support Casework Delivery (50%)

· Receiving referrals and assessing needs of families from contact via self referral (post, email, online and social media) and third party referrals (health care professionals, families and charities)

· Providing families with the appropriate support based on their needs, this will include 121 emotional support, signposting to financial/practical support and peer support via our online forum.

· Ensuring support to mums and families is reviewed at regular intervals. 

· Maintain and monitor the online peer support forum.

Other Duties and information about the role

· The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as required to support the charity and beneficiaries.

· Some evening and weekend work may be required but time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given for this.

· A DBS check will be required for this role.
