The Role

Member engagement and Community of Practice

• Act as the main point of contact for the Data Community of Practice (CoP), scheduling meetings and managing communications on the ISEAL online platform
• Establish and build relationships with Community Members’ data practitioners to understand their current capacities and identify priority topics for cross-learning related to data
• Support in planning outreach to Community Members, using tools such as Salesforce to track participation and identify opportunities to increase engagement in the Data CoP
• Facilitate Community Members’ understanding and self-assessment of relevant data maturity themes and topics

Project support

• Maintain resources and web pages related to data governance and information management on the ISEAL online platform

• Assist and participate in discussions related to the data and information management programme
• Assist in promoting best practice in use of IT, communications and knowledge management systems

Essential attributes, skills & knowledge

• Experience working in a project support role or data-related role focused on project administration, data and information management, data analysis, and/or stakeholder engagement
• Experience and comfort working with data and digital related subject matter, possibly gained through research, project communications and/or analysis and review of data sets
• Strong organisational skills, and experience with administration, meeting coordination, logistics contracts, budget tracking, etc.
• Good communication skills for partner and external communication and comfortable providing facilitation support (e.g. webinars, workshops etc)
• Good time management and ability to organise multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently with precision and strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fully remote, international environment, including regular international time-zone calls
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment with changing projects and working with multiple project leads
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Confidence in using the Microsoft Office suite and IT systems, familiarity with virtual meeting tools (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom, etc), use of contact management databases (e.g. Salesforce)

Contract: 12 months fixed term 

Location: 3 days a week onsite at the London Skylight (located in E1) with some homeworking possible , and a requirement for some travel to other Skylights in England, Scotland and Wales.

About the role

As People Business Partner you will provide expertise on employee relations, cultural transformation, employee engagement and relationship building. The role will be varied managing both day to day issues and longer term transformational work.

You will work closely with the leadership team within the Skylight, our union colleagues and the wider People team and Learning/OD team. You will be visible and approachable to the staff team and become a trusted colleague within the Skylight working to bring colleagues closer together as everyone unites to deliver on the operational requirements and longer term strategic ambitions.

You will play a key role in embedding some of the work of the wider People team such as new resolution methods, coaching and mediation. You will also play a key role in establishing a staff forum within the Skylight.

You will have opportunities to contribute to project work within the Skylight, wider Client Services Directorate and the People team playing a key role in ensuring that our people practices are developed through effective collaboration with stakeholders and in line with our new corporate values.

You will be a member of the extended management team within the People Team; helping to shape our plans to deliver most impact.

About you

This role will require a postholder who can identify opportunities for improvements and collaboration. Someone who is experienced in employee relations, building relationships, creating momentum and positive change. You will have a person centred approach and be able to provide clarity and simplicity to complex matters.

You will have a solid background operating autonomously at Partner level and the ability to capitalise on wider organisational people and culture initiatives; bringing them to life locally and delivering tangible outcomes.

A background in mediation, project management, and change management would be a distinct advantage.

Whilst a background in the homelessness sector is not essential, an understanding of the broad challenges will be required in order to best support the team at the Skylight.

As Communications Manager you’ll be creating content that targets our specific donor group, supports the stewardship of those donors and implements digital marketing plans designed to optimise lead generation and conversion.

Salary - £33,000-36,000 FTE pro rata

Hours - Between 21 hours (0.6 FTE) and 28 hours (0.8 FTE)

Location – Fully remote working, with monthly in-person meetings in London.

Raise Your Hands supports 16 exceptional small charities that improve the lives of children and young people across the UK. 

We fundraise on behalf of the small charities on our platform, targeting donors that would normally be out of their reach. We do this by innovating in the fundraising space with a particular focus on corporate partnerships and pioneering events.

Requirements

This role would suit someone with a strong history of using the power of words to inspire positive action, an eye for solid design and experience of digital marketing to business audiences (either as part of a B2B or charity corporate fundraising programme). 

The successful candidate will enjoy versatility and the creativity that comes from working in a small team with big ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Creation: Develop engaging content for LinkedIn, original articles, guides, website, email newsletters, social posts, and impact reports
• Marketing and Fundraising Collateral: Production of collateral for Dot Impact, Midnight Madness and other new events, including pitch decks and brochures.
• Testing Fundraising Ideas: Produce marketing materials for new fundraising initiatives and pilots.
• Marketing Activity: Implementation of existing marketing plan which includes organising talks, events, and webinars to engage new audiences and seeking opportunities for third-party posts, articles, and podcast appearances.
• Donor Pipeline and Stewardship: Work with the Development & Partnerships Manager to produce content for lead generation and donor stewardship.
• Digital Marketing: Run paid acquisition campaigns, optimise user journeys, and use Google Analytics to track effectiveness.

This exciting role will work closely with the Director of Fundraising, Individual Giving Manager and Digital Marketing Manager to develop a strategy, plan and key performance metrics for digital donor acquisition and fundraising. Already expert and excited by digital fundraising campaign development, you’ll have a unique combination of creative and business skills. These will enable you to create engaging digital content and through your expertise in paid search, google grants and paid social, optimise the ROI for Starlight in terms of donor engagement, acquisition, and income. You’ll be curious and take time to understand how we’re supporting children in healthcare settings which will enable you to create content that resonates with our key audiences. Finally, alongside strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, you will be proactive and results-driven with a ‘can do’ attitude to work.
