Lifelines
The Lifelines programme is a well-established volunteer-led project delivered in Brighton for over 10 years supporting people aged 50 and over. LifeLines deliver activities and one-to-one support schemes to help older people stay more active and better engaged with their communities. Through a range of activities older volunteers experience reduced loneliness and isolation, become more physically active and leave their home more, socialising more and making new social connections with people of all ages.
Heathlink
Heathlink is a project that involves compassionate and committed volunteers helping older people get to and from health appointments. Volunteers support can help them maintain their wellbeing – whilst reducing missed appointments. The project has been going for over a year, and it is consistently growing. This Engagement Manager role will cover the growth of the Heathlink project to ensure that we can support more people across the city.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a talented, dynamic and professional individual to join our team in Brighton & Hove. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values.
You will be responsible for the recruitment, training and ongoing support of volunteers as well as supporting beneficiaries to become more active and less socially isolated. The Engagement Manager will also support with setting up new activities across the city- identifying local need and supporting older people across the city to take part. The Heathlink project will be a big focus for this role, ensuring that Heathlink is promoted across the city, recruiting more volunteers, doing Heathlink assessments, and progressing the Heathlink project.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and up to date Debt and Money Advice within FCA guidelines
- Assist customers to prepare financial statements.
- Take a proactive and explorative approach to obtaining and understanding information
- Assist customers by negotiating by letter or telephone with creditors and other agencies e.g., fuel companies, local authorities, DWP and consumer credit companies etc
- Negotiate with third parties, including statutory and non-statutory organisations where required
- Prepare and present cases to the necessary statutory bodies and negotiate with third parties as appropriate
- Assist clients with other associated problems, referring to other advisers/agencies
- Provide advice and signposting towards, training or employment, linking up with internal and external specialists to assist
- Maintain accurate records of cases, in line with policy, procedure and legislation
We are accepting applications for unqualified Debt Advisers, with the understanding that completion of a Money Advice and Pensions Service (MaPs) Accredited qualification is achieved within a reasonable period once appointed. Your experience
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- Solid experience in providing advice, ideally within a similar setting, with an understanding of FCA regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong customer service skills are crucial, particularly in supporting vulnerable individuals and tailoring services to meet their unique needs.
- You should have experience managing client caseloads, and preparing cases for statutory bodies, with excellent communication skills across various channels.
- Collaboration and teamwork are key, as you'll work closely with colleagues and external partners while providing guidance to less experienced team members.
- A proactive approach to staying current with regulatory changes and a commitment to personal development, including obtaining a MaPs-accredited Debt Advice qualification if not already held, are essential.

In this role you’ll be both strategic and hands-on, solely managing the financial controls for this small charity with a £350k annual turnover. You will support the Director and senior management team through your management of financial processes, policy and planning.

Role Purpose
To develop and deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project across London, with particular focus on Brent borough, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The post holder will work closely with the Leaving Care team within Brent Borough Council and local volunteers to ensure that we improve and empower the lives of care leavers (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.
Key Duties Responsibilities
· To hit the ground running to effectively deliver the service to ensure the project meets its agreed targets and milestones.
· Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and local authority staff at a day-to day level.
· To ensure volunteers are recruited, appropriately trained and supported in their role; this will involve processing volunteer expenses, DBS checks and maintaining the database.
· To ensure regular communication between project staff and volunteers is maintained and that regular supervision for volunteers is provided.
· To work with your line manager to ensure project expenditure is in line with the budget.
· To maintain accurate administration, for all aspects of the project.
· To maintain accurate records on all aspects of the project and submit data onto a secure database.
· To manage and maintain effective monitoring and evaluation records to capture impact and outcomes and ensure contractual compliance.
· To implement and maintain appropriate risk assessment management processes.
· To prepare regular reports for both internal and stakeholder purposes.
· To develop relevant information to promote and raise the profile of Volunteering Matters locally.

Grandmentors
Grandmentors is a national volunteering programme where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor vulnerable young adults leaving the care system. These young adults often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives.
Volunteers meet with a young adult regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each person.
Role Purpose
We are recruiting two part-time Project Coordinators to effectively deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project in Wiltshire, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The postholders will work alongside teams within Wiltshire Council and with local volunteers to ensure that we improve the lives of care experienced young people (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Effectively manage the service to ensure it meets agreed targets and millstones.
- Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and local authority staff.
- Ensure volunteers are recruited, appropriately trained, and supported in their role; this will involve processing volunteer expenses, DBS checks and maintaining databases.
- Ensure regular communication between project staff and volunteers is maintained and that regular supervision for volunteers is provided.
- Work with your line manager to ensure project expenditure is in line with the budget.
- Maintain accurate records on all aspects of the project and submit data onto a secure system.
- Manage and maintain effective monitoring and evaluation records to capture impact and outcomes and ensure contractual compliance.
- To implement and maintain appropriate risk assessment management processes.
- Prepare impact and progress reports for both internal and external purposes.
- Develop relevant information to promote and raise the profile of Volunteering Matters locally.

JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Manager, Partnerships role makes a vital contribution to our objective to bring about transformative change for children. The key focus of this role is to secure income generation from Trusts, Foundations and Institutional Funders. The team is set to raise over £3.2 million in 2024 and has ambitions to grow this further in future years.
As Senior Manager, Partnerships you will identify, cultivate, secure and steward major gifts from existing and prospective donors who can support Lumos, usually at the five or six figure level. In your role you will build and foster positive relationships with grant-making organisations and institutions (bi-laterals and multilaterals), providing excellent stewardship and account management and drafting compelling and comprehensive proposals and reports.
You will work with colleagues and stakeholders in the Fundraising and Engagement Team as well as across our global organisation, including the Executive Leadership Team, Programmes Team, Country Teams and our Board of Trustees to effectively cultivate prospective partners, support existing partnerships and prioritise and progress opportunities.
KEY OBJECTIVES
Income generation:
• Pro-actively research and cultivate relationships with donors, especially Trusts, Foundations and Institutional Donors.
• Work with the Head of Partnerships, Director of Programmes, Chief Executive, Country Teams as well as existing supporters to maximise their networks and introduce new partnerships to Lumos.
Relationship management and stewardship:
• Provide exceptional relationship management and execute tailored cultivation and stewardship plans for prospective and existing donors. • Develop high quality communications for donors, including proposals, reports and stewardship materials.
• From time to time, represent Lumos at events and meetings to grow our network of supporters and contacts.
• Work collaboratively to strategically manage and maximise funding opportunities.
• Work with Fundraising and Programmes colleagues, via regular structured communication, to identify synergies between organisational priorities and funding opportunities and trends, and to develop funding propositions, detailed financial information and reports.
• Use the Salesforce database to maintain accurate records of opportunities, income, donor communication and interactions and to monitor prospecting activity and progress towards KPIs.

• Keep abreast of fundraising trends and challenges, and the legal and regulatory environment.
• Manage, monitor and report on income against targets and contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to ELT and Trustees.
