As a Data Officer at Myeloma UK, you will be supporting the charity as we implement a brand-new data strategy. Main purpose of the role
Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, this post will lead on the development and delivery of Thrive’s community and public fundraising whilst working collaboratively with the rest of fundraising team to maximise and develop opportunities over various income streams.

Big Issue is a social enterprise and B-corp business, with over 30 years of experience supporting the most marginalised in society to earn an income through selling the magazine. Since 1991 they have supported over 100,000 vendors to earn an income of over £150 million.
This is a permanent role with hybrid working arrangements from their London offices. The salary for this position is £30,000 to £35,000 per annum.
The Individual Giving Officer will be responsible for raising unrestricted income from individuals by planning and executing the day-to-day campaigns to recruit, engage and retain supporters. This role is critical to income generation for their Big Issue Changing Lives Community Interest Company, which funds their frontline services that support individuals to improve their lives and earn an income from selling the Big Issue magazine or find sustainable employment through their recruitment service, Big Issue Recruit.

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising and Administration Officer role primarily focuses on providing excellent supporter care and administrative support within the fundraising department. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining supporter relations, optimising fundraising efforts, and ensuring efficient administrative processes are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Care:
- To be a first point of contact for the Fundraising Department, answering the phone and meeting and greeting people who arrive to the office.
- Respond to enquiries from supporters, prospective supporters and volunteers via telephone, e-mail, and post, maintaining excellent supporter relations.
- Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgments, using both standard and bespoke correspondence.
- To adhere to administrative procedures to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service which is compliant with all relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide admin support for Direct Mail letters and appeals, including the use of mail merge, when required.
- Assist with the ongoing stewardship of Regular Givers.
Community Fundraising:
- Co-ordinate the recruitment and appropriate use of volunteers to support fundraising.
- Develop relationships with volunteer fundraisers, with the aim of maximising the funds they raise through challenges, events and talks.
- Support the formation of volunteer fundraising groups.
- Support ongoing and new events within the UK, which may include occasional weekend and evening work.

Digital Marketing:
- Support in developing UK digital fundraising opportunities.

Database Management (Training will be provided):
- Create and maintain contact records on Salesforce, ensuring supporter information is kept up to date by recording changes to mailing preferences, gift aid eligibility and contact details etc.
- Database maintenance and housekeeping e.g. identifying and merging duplicate records, removing, or archiving redundant data, adhering to GDPR protocols.
Finance Administration (Training will be provided):
- Efficiently process and reconcile incoming donations, received daily by post, online and phone. Bank cheques and cash on a weekly basis, and process credit card and CAF donations.
- Record all donations to Salesforce, ensuring the accurate coding of income to the correct source and supporter.
- Administer new Direct Debit instructions.
- Support monthly and quarterly reports demonstrating fundraising income received against budget, to inform the management team and provide accurate forecasting.
- Scan and upload credit card statements and invoices for payment by the Finance team.
- Record and reconcile petty cash expenditure.
- Assist the Finance team in the reconciliation of all income received, responding to any queries.
General Office Administration:
- Order office stationery and fundraising supplies, as required.
- Co-ordinate general office maintenance, as required.

About the role
Working across Newcastle, Northumberland, and North Tyneside this post will support the delivery of the North of Tyne Combined Authority’s One Stop Shop for Retrofit Advice (OSS). The One Stop Shop will help households progress with domestic energy retrofit by offering a trusted end-to-end solution.
You will be a key resource in supporting the marketing and campaigns activities of the OSS to engage partners across our communities. Working with a team of Energy and Retrofit Advisors the Partnership Officer will develop networks and partnerships to help households pursuing domestic retrofit opportunities. They will attend ongoing Steering Group and delivery team meetings to ensure they are aware of all Shop activity and its effective coordination. The post will work closely with Local Authorities and the Combined Authority to ensure that domestic retrofit is recognised and delivered across the North of Tyne Area.

About Unlocked
Unlocked Graduates exists to break cycles of reoffending, with particular focus on breaking the link between disadvantage and reoffending. Currently prison is not a place which successfully does this: the average prisoner has 16 previous convictions and 48 percent of prisoners reoffend within a year of release. Unlocked Graduates exists to fix this problem. Our mission is to break cycles of re-offending by developing outstanding individuals to lead rehabilitation in prisons and throughout society.
The role
Interns are an invaluable part of our Programme team, which sits at the heart of the design and delivery of the Unlocked Graduates programme. The key project deliverable for this role is Summer Institute (SI), a 6-week training programme for our new cohort of prison officers. The successful candidates will work with the team in Leeds to deliver SI, gaining broad experience in event coordination and project management. You will have the opportunity to get involved with a huge range of activities over the summer that will help train and develop exceptional prison officers.
For July and August the role will mainly be based at Leeds Trinity University, during which time your work pattern may vary and time off in lieu will be agreed in advance for extended work days or weekend work. Accommodation will be provided for this period and you will be able to expense travel on weekends to return home.
Key accountabilities

- Supporting the delivery team with final planning preparations for SI

During SI
- Supporting day-to-day logistics of SI ensuring training runs smoothly, including management of session equipment and paperwork, recording of sessions, etc.

As the Trusts and Fundraising Officer, you will maximise income from trusts by the creation of high-quality applications and reports to funders, and by providing excellent account management and cross-team collaboration. You will proactively identify trusts and research them for suitability and communicate and build relationships with their funders through emails, letters, telephone calls, service visits and face to face engagements.
To be successful as the Trusts and Fundraising Officer, you will have demonstrable experience in writing successful applications and securing four or five figure grants from trusts and foundations.
