Head of Finance - Financial Sustainability University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust

This is an exciting new role in UHBW and will lead the Trust's Cost Improvement Programmes (CIP) programme and working with the Head of Finance - Financial Services & Assurance, support the implementation of financial controls and policy across all areas of finance to ensure the Trust's long term financial sustainability.

The Head of Financial Sustainability reports to the Director of Operational Finance and will deputise for the Director of Operational Finance where relevant.

The post holder will drive and oversee the Trust's financial efficiency improvement agenda working with clinical and operational teams, underpinned by a multi-professional network of individuals drawn from across the organisation. They will bring cohesion to the multiple projects that form the Trust's CIPs and manage the complex stakeholder sets and interdependencies, planning, reporting and governance programme.

The post holder will challenge the current ways of working, drawing upon NHS experience and outside world examples to shape the Trust's financial sustainability agenda. Working with a network of senior finance leaders, the post holder will develop finance policies, controls and practices across Finance and the wider Trust that support and empower clinical and delivery groups to deliver sustainable efficiency projects.

The post holder will also work with the organisations within BNSSG ICS and the Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) (between North Bristol NHS Trust and UH Bristol and Weston) to ensure there is increasing collaboration across the wider system and beyond. Leading the designated Finance Manager - Service Improvement and team, the post holder will work in close partnership with the Divisional Directors, Deputy Divisional Directors, Divisional Finance Managers and other senior leaders across the finance teams and the wider Trust to ensure that each part of the programme is mutually reinforcing and delivering to target defined benefits and outputs

RLSS UK is seeking to appoint a new CEO, who will be responsible for the leadership and smooth and effective running of RLSS UK. The CEO will have oversight of all departments, with overarching accountability for strategic financial management, income development and diversification, ensuring annual organisational targets are met, and will be responsible for high level relationship management, working as an effective ambassador for RLSS UK.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• An inspirational, decisive, and entrepreneurial leader, ideally with experience gained in the charity/non-profit sector and/or in membership or volunteer focused organisations.
• Track record of leading cohesive and high-performing teams, including experience of engaging a volunteer network as well as managing a staff team.
• Experience of working with a Board with an elected membership element and respectful of the different dynamic this creates.
• Proven financial management and governance experience.
• Experience of building high level organisational partnerships, optimising existing income streams, and developing additional revenue sources.

Location: This role is contractually based in Central London; however, we currently operate a hybrid working model with regular whole team face to face meetings once a month. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Team at UHBW; a large complex Foundation Trust. This role is a key part of the finance Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Director of Operational Finance.

Main duties of the job

Role Purpose:

To lead financial accounting, statutory financial reporting and financial governance and control across the Trust.

To lead on cash and working capital management, ensuring that appropriate systems and reporting are in place to maximise cash flows and operate effectively.

To lead the financial services and payroll services teams in providing efficient, high quality and customer focused functions.

Role Context:

Roles at this level require a fully qualified finance professional with significant NHS experience at a senior level and the ability to lead and motivate a team of finance staff.

A key element to the role will be to promote the highest standards of professionalism within the finance function to ensure compliance with external standards and best practice.

The role requires high level leadership, technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills and involves effective working relationships with a range of internal and external colleagues.

Lead Policy Analyst - Climate

About the Role:
As Lead Policy Analyst-Climate, you will be a senior member of WaterAid's Global Policy and Research team. You will lead in developing informed WaterAid positions and options on building the resilience of WASH services to climate change; advocate for WASH as a key adaptation measure and contributor to stronger and more efficient systems; and highlight the urgent need for WASH services as worthy of consideration in climate financing.2

You'll also:

• Develop top-notch research initiatives and robust policy responses to the challenges presented by climate change and advocate for resilient WASH as a key adaptation measure;
• Lead in developing and implementing WaterAid climate resilient WASH influencing and thought leadership agenda;
• Represent WaterAid at global climate conventions, including CoPs and select national and regional climate discussions, to clearly articulate organisational positions and narratives, influence policies, and advocate for WASH inclusion in climate financing to be made easily accessible for poor, vulnerable communities in the global south;
• Work closely with our Country Programmes, WaterAid members, and International Programmes Department as a technical and strategic policy advisor on climate change;

• Experienced in working in public policy and advocacy on issues related to climate change with an extensive personal network in the climate action arena;
• Experienced in research, policy analysis, preparing policy/advocacy briefs and papers with impeccable verbal and written skills in English;
• Experienced in climate-related disciplines, such as environmental/earth sciences or other climate-related disciplines; water resources management experience to be considered an asset but not mandatory;

In recent years we have expanded our network from 74 Saturday Clubs in 2021 to over 100 in 2024, with a target of 140 by 2025-26 and an ambition to reach 180 clubs by 2026-27. This new role of COO will be responsible for finance, data and IT, risk management, legal, HR and culture and premises, including oversight on all operational areas including health and safety, and safeguarding You will also provide focused financial and operational long-term planning, strategic leadership and, as we grow, cultivate a culture that reflects our values and is rooted in equity, diversity and inclusion.

About the role.

The CEO will lead The Wallich, ensuring strong governance, clear strategic direction, and dynamic leadership. Key responsibilities include influencing partners, supporting Trustees, and maintaining the charity's inclusive and positive culture. The CEO will work closely with stakeholders, including vulnerable individuals, to drive The Wallich's mission of ending homelessness.

Who we are looking for.

The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with strong motivation and a deep understanding of homelessness issues. They should possess excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to form strategic partnerships. Experience in the non-profit or social impact sector is preferred, and a commitment to The Wallich's values and mission is essential.
