About the role
This is a people-focused role for someone who enjoys picking up the phone, starting conversations and building genuine relationships.
You don't need previous legacy fundraising experience. You could come from customer service, account management, telesales, supporter care, fundraising or another relationship-focused role. What's important is that you're confident speaking with people, motivated by achieving results and excited by the opportunity to work for a charity.
You'll build relationships with existing supporters, helping them understand the difference they can make through their ongoing support and the possibility of leaving a gift in their Will. You'll manage your own portfolio of supporters, developing relationships from initial conversations through to longer-term engagement.

Above all, you'll be someone who really enjoys talking to people.
You'll be a natural relationship builder with excellent listening and questioning skills and the confidence to guide a conversation towards an outcome. You'll be comfortable making outbound calls and working towards targets, while ensuring every conversation remains personal, respectful and supporter-focused.
You'll also be organised, comfortable using a CRM or database and able to manage your workload with minimal supervision.
Experience could come from customer service, account management, telesales, fundraising, supporter engagement or relationship management – previous charity or legacy experience isn't essential.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Oxford Skylight as a Receptionist. You will be there to welcome people who are homeless seeking advice and start the process of helping them to end their homelessness.
You will support the team to manage a busy working environment, welcoming and supporting a range of people including new Skylight members, current members, members of the public using the café or arts facilities, staff, Crisis volunteers and visitors. You will provide administrative support for this fast and responsive service to those newly presenting as homeless. You will also carry out administration and housekeeping functions relating to the customer service and facilities management of the Old Fire Station. This role is based onsite with no option for homeworking.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be highly organised with experience of working within a reception or administrative support role, as well as experience providing a high standard of customer service. We are looking for someone who understand the issues faced by homeless people and is excited to learn about the ways we can support them. You will have experience in dealing with challenging situations and individuals with a range of needs, to reach a positive resolution through a calm and confident approach.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups and individuals. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written will be key, as well as working collaboratively within a team. As you will be the first point of contact for many people, you need to be friendly, enjoy helping and be willing to learn about Crisis and all the other activities taking place within the building.

As Head of Diversity and Inclusion, you'll lead the delivery of Peabody's Inclusion Strategy, helping to create a workplace and services where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. Working closely with Executive and senior leaders, you'll embed equality, diversity and inclusion into decision-making, service delivery and organisational culture, ensuring inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
You'll use data, insight and evidence to identify opportunities for change, drive measurable improvements in colleague and resident outcomes, and strengthen accountability across the organisation. Leading a specialist team, you'll champion inclusive leadership, influence senior stakeholders, and build strong partnerships with colleagues, residents and external organisations to deliver meaningful and lasting impact.
What Experience You'll Need
You'll bring significant experience of leading diversity, inclusion or equality strategies within a complex organisation, along with a proven track record of influencing senior leaders and delivering sustainable cultural and organisational change. You'll understand how to embed inclusion into everyday operations and services, using data and insight to shape priorities, measure progress and drive action.
We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with the ability to turn ambition into outcomes. You'll be confident building relationships, challenging constructively, and bringing people with you on the journey. A strong understanding of equality legislation, governance and inclusion best practice is essential, alongside a genuine passion for creating equitable experiences and opportunities for colleagues, residents and communities.

FCDO Mental Health Social Work Adviser

Salary: £40,000 per annum, plus benefits

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Social Work Adviser (Mental Health) based at the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in Westminster, seconded from Heathrow Travel Care (HTC), the airport social work team.
You will join us on a full-time, permanent contract and you will receive a competitive salary of £40,000 per annum, plus benefits.
The role of our Social Work Adviser (Mental Health) is to enable the FCDO to offer advice and assistance to vulnerable British nationals known to the UK Consular Network.

You must be legally able to work in UK. Security clearance is required for this role. You must have been resident in the UK for a least 2 of the previous ten years, at least one year of which must have been a consecutive 12-month period and you must have resided for at least 3 consecutive years in one country.
