As a Residential Key Worker, you will work as part of a collaborative care team providing a high standard of support to children and young people with a vision impairment. You’ll play an important role in delivering the waking day curriculum, promoting independence, and ensuring accurate and high-quality documentation. This role provides the operational support to our service delivery, ensuring that processes, resources and systems are well organised and focused on quality, sustainability and a positive user experience.
We are entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking to expand our services and extend our reach across Birmingham, the Black Country and surrounding areas. This new role is central to these plans.
Initially, the role will be hands-on, with responsibility for recruiting and training additional administrative staff, fully opening our main premises and moving to a hybrid model of online and face-to-face counselling. You will also support the implementation of new online appointment and case management systems as well as updated policies and procedures.
As we grow there is significant opportunity for development, allowing you to contribute to how our services are delivered, strengthen our team and help us meet the increasing need for our services.
Based at our Birmingham office, you will be supported by a small administration team that will grow. This role will require some flexibility in working hours to meet service needs, including working at other centres from time to time.

You will help ensure members' voices are represented within the organisation, while also promoting the valuable resources and support available to them. In doing so, you will contribute to maximising the organisation's influence, visibility, and impact.

What we're looking for
You will be a people‑focused team player, with proven experience building and maintaining strong, effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
Highly organised and proactive, you will be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently, often managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
You will have experience supporting or managing projects and initiatives, ideally within a membership engagement or communications environment. This will include coordinating meetings, tracking actions to completion, and ensuring initiatives progress effectively.

This is an opportunity to lead a small, specialist organisation with international reach and tangible human impact. Working with a committed staff team and an exceptional network of NHS clinical volunteers, you will build on strong foundations while helping Transplant Links become more ambitious, sustainable and influential.
You will work with the Board to shape and deliver our strategy, lead and develop the organisation, strengthen our partnerships and profile and, importantly, grow and diversify our income. Developing a more consistent and sustainable funding base will be central to our next chapter.
This is a genuinely hands-on CEO role. We are looking for someone who thrives in a small, entrepreneurial organisation and is comfortable moving between the strategic and practical. You might be working with Trustees on future direction, developing a funding relationship, building an international partnership or helping colleagues resolve an operational challenge. You will enjoy being close to the work, taking ownership and making things happen.
You may already be a CEO or be a senior leader ready to take that step. More important than title is your ability to combine strategic judgement, strong relationship-building and an entrepreneurial approach. You will bring leadership experience alongside a demonstrable ability to generate income, develop partnerships and make a compelling case for support.
You do not need to be a clinician, but you will need the curiosity and credibility to work effectively with medical professionals and international partners, and respect for the expertise and voluntary contribution on which our work depends. Above all, we are looking for someone who is ambitious for our impact rather than the size of the organisation, a collaborative, resourceful and resilient leader who can see what is possible and help us make it happen.
