Are you an experienced HR adviser or business partner who likes being in front of line managers, helping them succeed in areas of people management? Do you have a natural flair for training and building relationships with line managers? In this new role you will design and deliver regular HR and induction training, in person and online, to upskill our line manager group. Job summary:
As our Philanthropy Manager, you'll lead our trusts and foundations fundraising while building meaningful relationships with major donors who share our vision. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications, CEO and Trustees, you'll help build and grow our philanthropy programme, securing significant gifts and developing long-term partnerships that enable more people living with MS to access trusted information, evidence-based lifestyle guidance and a supportive community.

About you

Key responsibilities and duties:
The role comprises of the following key areas of responsibility:

Trusts and Foundations

• Lead and develop our trusts and foundations fundraising programme.
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective charitable trusts and foundations.
• Research and identify new funding opportunities aligned to Overcoming MS' strategic priorities.
• Develop compelling funding applications, reports and proposals.
• Deliver excellent stewardship and timely reporting to existing funders.

Major Donors

• Develop and manage relationships with existing and prospective major donors.
• Work with the Director of Fundraising & Communications, CEO and Trustees to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective philanthropists.
• Develop tailored cultivation and stewardship plans aligned to supporters' interests and motivations.
• Prepare personalised proposals, presentations and impact reports.
• Secure significant five-figure gifts while developing and progressing opportunities capable of generating transformational six-figure support.

Philanthropy development

• Research and identify opportunities to grow both restricted and unrestricted income.
• Develop compelling cases for support that communicate the impact and ambition of Overcoming MS.
• Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising, communications and services to translate our evidence, insight and organisational priorities into inspiring funding propositions.
• Contribute to philanthropy strategy, pipeline development, income forecasting and long-term fundraising growth.
• Maintain accurate fundraising records, prospect pipelines and reporting through our CRM system.

Compliance and representation

Role purpose:

To drive the growth of income from businesses, local authorities and public sector funders by identifying, developing and securing strategic partnerships. Key deliverables:

Partnership Management and Development

About the role

Sands is the UK’s leading pregnancy and baby loss charity. We work to save babies’ lives and to ensure that anyone affected by pregnancy or baby loss receives the care and support they need.

We are looking for a compassionate, organised and collaborative Hospital Liaison Coordinator to support the delivery, embedding and sustainability of the National Bereavement Care Pathway in England.

This role will help strengthen Sands’ hospital liaison work by building, supporting and developing our network of Hospital Liaison Volunteers. Hospital Liaison Volunteers provide an important link between Sands, NHS services and local communities, helping hospital staff understand and access Sands’ support, training, resources and bereavement care guidance.

The postholder will work closely with volunteers, NHS staff and Sands colleagues to support high-quality, equitable bereavement care for bereaved parents and families. They will coordinate activity, monitor progress, gather feedback and insight, and help ensure learning from hospitals and volunteers informs continuous improvement across the NBCP England programme.

This is a role for someone who is highly organised, values-driven and confident working with people. You will bring experience of supporting volunteer networks, coordinating projects and building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will also be able to communicate sensitively and clearly, work with feedback and evidence, and develop your understanding of bereavement care, maternity services and NHS systems.

Key responsibilities 

Support and develop the Hospital Liaison Volunteer network

Completing welfare checks on residents in the Approved Premises. Ensuring timely and accurate recording of information on electronic databases, and completing tasks to a high standard. Following protocols, encouraging compliance with curfews/drug & alcohol testing, and liaising with partners including on-call manager, probation and police. Ensuring that colleagues, multi-agency partners and management are informed and updated on matters as is necessary for risk management and safeguarding duties. Actively monitoring and maintaining the health, safety, security, cleanliness and hygiene of the Approved Premises and the well-being of its occupants utilising information sharing, CCTV, direct observation, inspection, personal contact and other methods, as appropriate.
