The Centre for ADHD and Autism Support (CAAS) is looking for a passionate, proactive and relationship-focused Fundraising Officer to help grow our income and expand our impact across North West London.

Every year, CAAS supports hundreds of ADHD and autistic children, young people, adults and their families through information, advice, support services, training and community programmes. As demand for our services continues to grow, we are seeking a talented fundraiser who can help us build strong supporter relationships, develop new income streams, and ensure our vital work reaches even more people.

Location: Eastcote, HA4 9XA (with some potential for home working)

Salary: £30,000 FTE (£17,122 pro rata, inclusive of holiday allowance)

Hours: 22 hours per week during term time (39 weeks) plus 7 hours per week for 7 weeks during school holidays

About the Role

Working closely with the Fundraising & Communications Manager and CEO, you will play a key role in developing and delivering fundraising activities that generate sustainable income and increase awareness of CAAS.

This varied and rewarding role will include:

• Developing and delivering community fundraising initiatives and events
• Recruiting and supporting individual and community fundraisers
• Building relationships with donors, schools, community groups and corporate partners
• Researching and developing new fundraising opportunities
• Supporting trust and grant applications
• Helping to grow digital and social media fundraising campaigns
• Maintaining fundraising records and supporter data using our CRM
• Representing CAAS at events, presentations and community engagements

You will also act as an ambassador for the charity, delivering excellent supporter care and helping donors understand the impact of their contributions.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, initiative and a proven ability to generate income through fundraising activities.

You will have:

Essential

• Experience in a fundraising role, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector
• A successful track record in community fundraising, events, individual giving or related income generation
• Experience building relationships with donors, supporters, community groups or corporate partners
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Excellent written skills, including experience preparing funding applications or fundraising materials
• Experience using a CRM or database to manage supporter information
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• A positive, professional and collaborative approach

Desirable

• Experience supporting fundraising volunteers or volunteer groups
• Corporate fundraising experience
• Experience contributing to larger trust and foundation applications
• Knowledge of digital fundraising and social media campaigns
• A fundraising qualification or equivalent experience
• Full UK driving licence

Routes to Roots is looking for an inspiring, compassionate and proactive Centre Manager to lead the day-to-day operation and future development of the Genesis Centre in Poole.

This is not a role where you will spend every day behind a desk.

You will be at the centre of a busy, welcoming homelessness service: leading people, building partnerships, solving problems, developing opportunities and making sure that people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity receive the very best possible support.

Some days will require strategic thinking. Others will require you to roll up your sleeves and help make things happen. We are looking for someone who can do both!

About the role

As Centre Manager, you will take the lead for the day-to-day running and continued development of the Genesis Centre, working closely with our Trustees, staff, volunteers and local partners. You will have real scope to shape how the service develops and to strengthen the Genesis Centre's role within Poole's response to homelessness.

You will be a visible and approachable presence within the Centre and the wider community, helping to raise the profile and reputation of Routes to Roots and strengthen our network of partners and supporters by:

• Leadership & strategy – working with the Trustees to deliver the charity’s strategic and operational plans, monitor outcomes and identify opportunities to improve and develop services.
• People & volunteers – leading and supporting employees and volunteers, including recruitment, induction, development, performance and wellbeing.
• Centre operations – overseeing the day-to-day running of the Centre, budgets, resources, premises, donations, food supplies, health and safety, safeguarding and compliance.
• Partnerships & community engagement – building strong relationships with BCP Council, homelessness services, health services, community organisations and other local partners, while representing Routes to Roots at networking events and community activities.
• Fundraising & sustainability – supporting the Trustees with fundraising, identifying grant opportunities and contributing to the financial sustainability and future development of the charity.
• Governance & reporting – providing Trustees with clear information on performance, finances, risks, incidents and strategic progress, and ensuring policies and procedures are effective and up to date.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience of managing people and/or volunteers and overseeing a service, programme or project, including budgets and resources.

You will ideally already have experience of working with people experiencing homelessness or vulnerability and be just as confident building effective relationships with someone walking through the doors of the Genesis Centre as with a volunteer, Trustee, commissioner or partner agency.

You will bring:

• Strong leadership, people-management and communication skills;
• Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities in a challenging environment;
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to turn strategy into practical action;
• New ideas, activities and partnerships that can improve outcomes for the people using the service;
• High standards around safeguarding, health and safety, incidents, complaints, records and the safe operation of the building;
• The ability to use data, feedback and what we learn from clients to understand what is working and where we can do better.
• An understanding of the importance of good governance, accurate records, performance information and safe working — but you will never lose sight of the people behind the processes;
• A compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental approach.
• Resilience, emotional maturity and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach.

Experience of grant applications, fundraising or working within the voluntary, housing, health or social care sectors would be advantageous.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with our small and committed team and Board of Trustees, you will take the lead on developing our fundraising and building sustainable income for the charity.

You'll have the opportunity to:

• shape and deliver our fundraising plans and priorities
• develop new corporate partnerships and build relationships with local and national businesses
• grow our community fundraising and individual giving
• develop fundraising campaigns, events and new income opportunities
• nurture existing supporters and develop long-term relationships
• identify opportunities to increase and diversify income
• manage and support colleagues involved in fundraising activity
• develop the systems and processes needed to support effective fundraising
• monitor fundraising performance and provide updates to the Board
• bring your own ideas, experience and creativity to the role.

This is a hands-on position. We are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to both lead fundraising and get involved in delivering it.

You won't be doing it alone

We know that asking one person to “lead all fundraising” can sound like a big ask – particularly in a part-time role.

That's why it's important to us that candidates understand that you will be joining an established charity with a committed staff team, supportive Board, existing supporters and fundraising relationships.

You'll also have external support for our trusts and foundations fundraising, allowing you to focus your time on developing other areas of income and building relationships that can help The Dream Factory grow.

You'll have the freedom to bring new ideas, test different approaches and help us decide where our greatest fundraising opportunities lie.

Who we're looking for

We're much more interested in what you can do than where you've worked.

You'll probably have experience of generating income through one or more areas of fundraising, rather than necessarily having worked across every income stream.

We'd particularly love to hear from you if you:

• have experience of successfully generating fundraising income
• are confident building relationships with supporters, businesses and partners
• can identify and develop new fundraising opportunities
• are comfortable taking ownership and working independently
• can balance planning with hands-on delivery
• communicate confidently and can inspire people to support a cause
• are organised and able to manage competing priorities
• enjoy working as part of a small team where everyone contributes
• share our determination to create extraordinary experiences for children, young adults and their families.

Experience of corporate, community or individual giving would be particularly valuable, but we don't expect you to arrive with experience of everything.
