About the role 

Based in the PDT team this role will contribute towards Your Place’s overarching mission to end homelessness one person at a time and meet organisational KPI’s around outcome based contracts.

In response to an increasing proportion of residents who have been referred to us holding refugee status we are seeking to develop our supported accommodation services to meet the particular needs of this group.

This role will be responsible for developing our services to make them more accessible to our resident population who are from a migrant background. This includes:

• Developing our move on offer to residents from a migrant background including the design and delivery of move on training in particular ensuring that they have a realistic understanding of the housing market and to provide the appropriate support to enable them to maintain accommodation in future.

• The development of bespoke accommodation pathways and support to ensure that barriers that migrants face within housing market are overcome.

• To identify and liaise with reputable private sector landlords including on issues such as rent, housing standards and tenure.

• Working with Frontline Services colleagues to improve accessibility and cultural relevance of services to resident from a migrant background that promotes inclusivity and is trauma informed.

• To provide additional support to Housing Service team around Clearing House referrals where appropriate.

Responsibilities 

• To work with residents/tenants to develop culturally accessible resources to prepare them for a move to appropriate accommodation, including advice and support on move-on accommodation, rent deposit schemes, understanding tenancies, budgeting, accessing utilities and services, and accessing welfare/housing benefits and grants.

• Identify and liaise with landlords, building relationships to secure move on accommodation for residents. Negotiate reasonable rents and deposit/advance payments.

• Receive details of appropriate properties from landlords, view property for suitability and carry out Health & Safety check.

• Ensure that properties meet relevant standards for safe occupancy (Housing Health & Safety Rating Systems, LA Licencing).

• Identify suitable residents; prepare them and their paperwork which includes Housing Benefit, deposits, loan applications, Discretionary Housing Payments. Arranging viewings.

• Develop networks of migrant support which contributes towards this migrant move on pathway. Act as a broker to facilitate access to relevant services.

• Working in conjunction with the Resettlement Officer supporting residents into their own accommodation arranging utilities connections, supporting resident access to furniture/furnishings, moving resident or supporting to move their belongings. Liaison with landlord for access. Managing expectations of both resident and landlord. Identify and apply for grants for move on funds for residents.

• Where residents have additional support or care needs to lead and co-ordinate on finding specialist accommodation.

• Keep up to date and inform team on changes in law, local authority conditions and benefits that affect move on. Respond to changes and implement strategy.

Experience

• Experience of housing support with people with a migrant background.
• Experience of negotiating with private landlords
• Experience of working with vulnerable people presenting significant levels of need and risk, with an ability to devise and deliver on action plans through high quality risk management and needs assessment.
• A current understanding of safeguarding procedures.

Skills & knowledge

• Good understanding of private rented sector accommodation and good practice in relation to move on accommodation.
• Good understanding of the challenges migrants experience within the housing market, in particular within private rented sector.
• A working knowledge of being able to support clients into supported accommodation and/or other floating support services, with a demonstrable understanding of Housing and other related legislation.
• Multi-lingual in East African languages.

We are looking for a Communications Specialist to join our UK office (London-based). Reporting to the Communications Director and the CEO  you will be responsible for supporting the fundraising, events management and private philanthropy teams as well as liaising with the media.

Your main responsibilities, in order of priority and time commitment, will include:

Rethink have an exciting opportunity to work for us delivering the new Connect to Work Individual Placement and Support (IPS) programme within County Durham. We are looking for an Employment Specialist to support individuals with health conditions, mental health difficulties, a disability or complex barriers to employment to gain, retain, or return to employment, following the IPS principles. You will also engage with and support local employers to enable work to be sustainable for individuals and by bridging workforce needs with local people. The roles will involve travelling around your allocated area to meet individuals in need of support offering a person centred approach and engaging with local employers who have workforce vacancies. You will work closely with and within healthcare settings and as part of a wider partnership of organisations to deliver the programme across the region.

Connect to Work is part of the National Get Britain Working strategy which is a new government funded programme. Within County Durham the initial programme is based upon the IPS model which looks to support people who would like to gain employment by delivering tailored support to move into the right job quickly and support to maintain employment.

The available role is a part time post (0.5 FTE – 17.5 hours per week) with days and times to be worked open to discussion and agreement with the successful candidate. This post is for a fixed term until 31st March 2028, with the possibility of an additional 2 year extension once funding is confirmed. We’re looking for an Advice & Wellbeing Specialist to provide high-quality, holistic support to residents, helping them sustain tenancies and improve their wellbeing. This is a floating outreach role, so you’ll need to be prepared to work flexibly across NE London, NW London, and South London, with one day per week based in an office.

Your typical day could start by working with residents in their homes and neighbourhoods to understand their immediate needs. You’ll manage safeguarding cases with care, build strong relationships with internal teams like Neighbourhood Managers, Financial Inclusion, and Repairs, and collaborate with external partners such as local authorities, mental health services, and advice agencies. Alongside this, you’ll support wellbeing hubs and community events, keep accurate records, manage cases effectively, and use CRM systems to track and report outcomes.

Job Description

Join Catch22 as our Interim Payroll Specialist and play a central role in delivering a best-in-class payroll service for our people. You’ll lead a proactive, customer-focused payroll function, ensuring colleagues are paid accurately and on time, and supporting smooth onboarding. The Payroll Team is responsible for ensuring that salaries are paid correctly, on time and in compliance with HMRC rules. Based in Brasted (with hybrid working), you’ll oversee all aspects of payroll delivery, manage the iTrent system, and work closely with People, Finance, and the wider organisation. You’ll provide clear payroll advice, mentor people coordinators, and help shape and automate processes for an excellent user experience.

We’re looking for someone with initiative, strong payroll expertise, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to improve efficiency and support our inclusive culture. As the Payroll Specialist you will be solely responsible for ensuring that the organisation’s payroll and pension schemes are run in the most efficient manner, ensuring accurate payments are made to staff on time, and ensuring that all tax law and other associated regulations are complied with. You will have the ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to work, be able and comfortable to work unsupervised and work across teams to solve problems and to be able to improve the efficiency of the existing processes. You will also need to manage various priorities and work within tight deadlines and provide an excellent customer focused service to every customer whether internal or external and ensure that issues are resolved on the first occasion wherever possible. Experience

Additional information

Salary

The Specialist Housing Partner (Independent Living Housing Officer) salary is£29,580 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.

About you

• Experience delivering housing management services within a specialist or generic housing context.
• CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing or equivalent (or willingness to work towards) or qualified through experience

This role uses experiential insight to inform peer support, service design and engagement. We will assess how candidates apply that insight professionally (boundaries, safeguarding, confidentiality). About the role

The Passage has secured funding to deliver a 1-year pilot, exploring how the use of peer support can prevent further homelessness and increase social mobility, by giving people the support and confidence to get reintegrated into the community. 

This pilot will involve the recruitment and training of 10 lived experience volunteers who will share their insights and provide support to people recently re-housed to set and achieve goals with a focus on community re-integration. The pilot will offer a range of interventions including 1:1 support, community events and online training. 

The Passage recognizes that someone’s journey of homelessness doesn’t just end when accommodation is secured. What is often a confidence-stripping and traumatizing experience can take time to recover from. The first steps can be the most challenging for individuals to put down new roots and get back to where they were before that period. 

As The Lived Experience Specialist Project Worker, you will support your manager in the design, delivery, monitoring and reporting of the pilot; with a particular focus on supporting the volunteers in their roles. 

The Passage believes that peer support and the sharing of lived experience are essential tools in supporting people to take steps toward becoming more active, involved and connected. We also know that delivering peer support and helping others are also crucial cornerstones in processing living experience into lived experience. 

Main duties

• To support the recruitment and retention of lived-experience volunteers. 
• Have oversight of the day-to-day delivery of volunteers work by providing guidance & direction and ensuring volunteer support is delivered in a safe and supportive manner. 
• Support the creation of a volunteering environment where having lived experience is not a barrier but a tool to help others. 
• To support the manager to create and maintain procedures which underpin the pilot and volunteers’ activities, ensuring they are fit for purpose. 
• Meeting potential referrals, explaining the scope of the service, and undertaking person centered role matching. 
• Identify challenges including safeguarding issues encountered by volunteers 
• and working with the manager to address them. 
• Ensuring accurate and efficient recording of actions undertaken by volunteers. 
• Maintain a directory of low-cost activities, promote local events, and support development of an online resource to boost social connection and reintegration.

You will work with clients diagnosed with a mental health condition and who are living within the borough of Lambeth in their own homes.
The role of the Specialist Support Worker is to enable our customers to develop greater independence and fulfilling lives. As part of your role, you will be required to oversee Medication compliance, provide practical support to those with general needs issues.
Create robust Support and Risk plans, updating as required, and working with a patch list of customers on an agreed basis.
Enable customers to improve their overall wellbeing, through maintaining good physical and mental health, motivating customers to par-take in social activities, and assisting customers to identify goals to improve their quality of life.
Ensure customers have applied for the correct benefits; that customers are managing their rent and utilities, whilst maintaining their home to a safe standard.
